We bought this product in January 2015 and it has been a big disappointment. The door latch has been difficult to use from the beginning & now it doesn't go on unless you push in on the door & even then is intermittent. So, in less than a year we are looking again. This is the same model displayed here with Inverter.

Purchased this item on line for new office. Great size, easy to use and heat sensing technology rocks.

This had all the bells and whistles and features that worked very well....until they didn't work at all. I've been told that most microwaves will last 4-7 years these days. Mine made it less than 2. After doing research on the problem, I found it's extremely common with Panasonic microwaves. The door latch becomes increasingly difficult to close over time. Compare the demo model in the store with the doors on other microwaves to see what I mean. Along with this, the microwave either malfunctions (runs with door open) or doesn't run at all unless you slam the door. Finally, the microwave quits running altogether. There are videos online showing quite creative repairs (using mechano toy parts, even!) but I lack the necessary skills. Panasonic gets great ratings on their technology, but those reviews are based on equipment straight out of the box. Real wold use proves quite different. It's sad something a silly as a door latch is bringing them down. I wanted to believe Panasonic had fixed the problem by now, but even the demo models in the store with recent manufacturing dates printed inside the door, were showing the same problem with the latch.

The door latch gave us problems from day one, and now the microwave won't even turn on. We opened the door only to find that the top door latch has fallen off!!!! We've only had the microwave for a year!!!!!!! Too much money paid for such a short period of time. Will never buy a Panasonic microwave again!!!!!

This didn't last much more than a year and the door latch broke. Panasonic doesn't have a fix for it. I was told I would have to take it to a repair shop and see if they could fix it! I would have to pay!! ALSO, the interior coating wears off and rusts. I would have rust flakes in my food. I'm extremely unhappy with this purchase

The specs state that the microwave is 14.75" tall. It is exactly 3 inches shorter at 11.75".

I was foolish enough to buy this product THREE times over the past several years. It has a defective door opening switch that WILL break on you rendering your appliance worthless. I figured that Panasonic might have fixed this at some point, but of course not. Please. Save your money. Do not buy this microwave.

I've owned a Panasonic 1.2 sensor oven for over 10 years it has always worked great! needed a new one so I went with the same only this time a bit bigger with a 1.6 have used it for a week now and I love it ! works as it should! looks great too! only time will tell if it will last as long !
