The quality is so much less. You can feel the difference when you close the door. Seems insubstantial compared to my old microwave. The interior is dark, not white, so it seems more difficult too seek out the splashes,etc. In order to open the door after using they have thrown in another step.

Starting March 2024 the Federal law required Microwave Ovens to be equipped with an electronic door lock safety function. The oven door is “locked” automatically after it's use to prevent burns, access and accidentally operated by children or anyone unfamiliar with its use when removing hot food or beverages after cooking. The door lock function can be turned off by pressing Defrost, then Timer and then Popcorn within 10 seconds. Your feedback helps us improve, and we thank you for taking the time to share it. - F

So far, it's been just as good as the old one. Just one slightly annoying safety feature on the new one: have to press a button to unlock the door after using it.
