After spending several hours reading reviews and staring at televisions in the store, I purchased the TC-P50U50 and haven't thought twice about the decision. Picture quality is amazing for the price, and the colors seem more realistic on this plasma than on many higher-end LCD sets. Set up was quick and easy. The picture can get washed out with ambient lighting, but this hasn't been a problem.

While the picture quality is very impressive in its price range, the audio quality is disappointing and the features fail just a bit short. For example, the brightness adjusts automatically to the ambiance light, which might be great if you like the automatic settings, a bit too dark for my taste. Another shortcoming is limited number of outputs and inputs, in particular there is only digital audio output, not good for my good quality but older generation audio systems.

I would recommend this TV to anyone looking for a reasonably priced large screen (50"). It is a basic TV with limited features so don't expect much other than a great picture and standard sound quality. We purchased the TV in Jan-13 and have used it without any issues. The picture out of the box needed tweaking. We used the preset movie setting with minor adjustments.

He is a football "freak" and it is in our bedroom. He had a 53" that gave out a few years ago and has been watching a 32". He is so happy to have his big screen back and the picture is wonderful. The first one was a Panasonic and that's the onlly kind he wanted and for some reason they have become hard to find, so I was elated to find that one.

Great picture. Easy to use and setup. Love this product. I would recommend it to all lookers.

A TV like this was a dream we've had for a long time and every day I am pleased once again for the television — how good it works; how fine the picture. This was our second Panasonic Viera. We bought a 40 inch six months ago. It was so satisfactory that we didn't do much shopping around when deciding to purchase this larger model.

overall, the quality of the picture is wonderful....the price was a fair price for what you're buying, i.e., a tv that is being phased out of production but panasonic is a good brand for plasma and the picture quality says it all the sound isn't as good but if you want great sound buy a home theater system...what do you expect?

I was looking for a 50" hdtv for my bedroom with atleast 120hz. This plasma exceeded my expectations. With a plasma, you get a glare, but if you put it in your bedroom where this not a lot of lights you dont have to worry about that. Great Picture, Great Sound. Perfect for watching movies, and more importantly NBA and NFL games.

Originally bought an LED tv for our basement setup. Picture quality on the led made our favorite show look like a soap opera. Returned it the next day for this plasma. Picture quality is better than the plasma we have upstairs (paid $1500 for it 3yrs ago).

This plasma tv from Panasonic has the same high quality picture that is clear and bright as the other two that I own. The oldest is about 7 years old and works like new as I expect this one will. This is not a "smart TV" but has a USB card slot for viewing pictures that works fine. The free shipping and setup was great!

I replace a LCD with this Plasma. I have windows all over the place but it does not seem to bother this picture. I love it. Perfect colors and it does not blur with high speed on screen action. The only warning is don't have a light on directly in front of the screen as it is glass and will reflect bright things.

The Panasonic brand is top quality. We have a 42 inch plasma tv in our bedroom and decided to purchase the exact same TV (50 inch) for our living room. The picture is crisp and clear from any angle in the room. This is a great television set for shows, sports, movies, etc. An excellent TV at a reasonable price.

This plasma panel was an outstanding bargain and priced well below other sellers, even the on-line retailers. Panasonic Plasma Panels offer the best picture quality that I have seen. I own three Panasonic Plasma Panels (50" and larger) and all have provided me reliable service and exceptional picture quality.

We bought it to replace our old TV and it was on sale. We life the picture Quality but it was kind of a pain to set up it required me and my husband to put it on it's base. The menus can get confusing too. I would definitely recommend this TV.

This was my first foray into flatscreen tv's. I did a ton of research before buying, this seemed like the way to go. And it was. Works right out of the box, simple set up, great picture and sound. I just wish it had wifi, but I got apple tv to make up for it. Overall, great buy, I recommend it.

bought 42 inch 2011, 50 inch this year. Consummer recomends this product over others. They are my bible! Consummer Reports magazine., a must. Good picture on pl.asma for sports events. Also have High definition from Comcast. I do not need smart TV or 3-D TV. Did that back in the 1950's.

I did a lot of research before buying my second HDTV, before ultimately deciding on this model. It is a great for people who want a big great looking plasma without the 4 digit price tag. It doesn't have "smart" features so you'll need an xbox or ps3 for netflix,youtube And such. You will need a blu-ray player anyways, get a smart one of those (or just use a PS3). Not a deal-breaker for me. Like any(and i mean any) other tv out there, the built in speakers are rubbish, so you'll need a sound bar to make it pop. it has one composite and two HDMI in and one optical out. This is enough for my uses. it also has a sd card slot and a usb slot, and a program to show your pictures on these. bottom line, unless you need a smart and/or 3D tv, this tv is a great choice
