Once you get used to dry shaving, this thing is awesome. Just don't give up on dry shaving after the first few tries. Give it a couple weeks, your face skin will adapt. You can technically use this to wet shave, but I find it works better dry shaving myself.

I bought this shaver on brand name recognition and price. I am not disappointed. It fits my hand well, is easy to clean and does the job like it is supposed to do. I especially like the plastic cover and the charger. It is a great bare bones shaver.

The Panasonic ES-rt17 is nicely styled and lightweight at less than one pound. It is comfortable to hold and shave with due to good ergonomics. It is powerful enough to handle a tough beard while a single charge provides about 21 minutes of shaving. The trimmer works great on my sideburns and the flexible head adds to comfort and speed in the process of shaving. It uses a single piece charger that I like (no cord to deal with) and the charger can also serve as a stand for the shaver. I find the wet/dry capability allows it to be used in the shower and eliminates the concern of splashing water on it making it easy to clean. It is easy to pack in its pouch and comes with a compact head protector. I really like this shaver better than another wet/dry one that I owned. I do wish it would let you know when it is fully charged and I would appreciate a time to full charge time of less than 8 hrs.. I would also prefer a longer run time than 21 minutes. A nice comfortable shave is a wonderful thing.

Not as strong as a Braun 5 or 7 series everyday razor, but a very reasonable and portable travel razor. Leaves a clean, smooth finish on your face, but the shave is not quite as close as the more costly shavers.

Good price for a good shave. I was looking at the high end dollar amount ones at first and decided to go with this one instead. Had good reviews already so I took a risk. It works quite well and feels good in my hand. Shaves smooth and no pulling so far. But I can't grow a thick beard :( so I couldn't tell you how well it works with that. Overall a very good product.

Plasticky build quality. Definitely not as close a shave as the Arc4 ES-LA63-S which I bought 5 years ago - the Arc4 was not holding its charge well anymore. Should have spent more for a higher end Panasonic razor.

[ Shaver Design ] This shaver sports a sharp two-color design, a comfortable ergonomic handle shape, and rubbery textured sides that accommodate a secure grip even in wet conditions. It would be nice for the thumb rest to have the same rubbery material, but instead is made of hard plastic. Supporting both wet and dry operation and in-shower use, as well as inclusion of a slide-out detail trimmer makes this a versatile shaver. Cleaning the blades and foils under running water is a quick and easy operation. [ Efficacy ] This shaver performed well on the front parts of my face. However, this shaver left plenty of very visually and tactilely apparent stubble on the bottom part of my lower jawline and around my neck, despite sweeping over these areas many times from different angles; this remained consistent throughout my full week of daily testing. The slide-out trimmer seems sufficient for detail trimming, but doesn’t supplant a dedicated trimmer for other tasks. [ Battery / Charging ] There is no battery level indicator on the shaver, and the charger gives no indication of charging progress, or even if charging has completed. The love child of a wall wart and a typical charging dock, this shaver’s charger is terribly designed. The large size of the charger combined with central placement of the prongs can easily block usage of the other socket of a dual-socket electrical outlet. It will not work in many bathroom layouts without the use of an extension cable (not included), due to socket orientation or lack of peripheral space to accommodate a docked shaver. The tight fit of the shaver in its charger makes separating them an onerous chore unless the charger is unplugged beforehand. Eight hours of charge time for roughly 21 minutes of operation seems lacking by today’s standards.

This is my 3rd Panasonic Shaver. I have always had good luck with them. The only reason i replace them is I have a habit of knocking them off the sink. They do not like that.

I am still using my Panasonic ARC 3 Blade Wet/Dry Electric Shaver after 2.5 years. It gets the job done. Works as good as other more expensive shavers. It is advisable to apply a pre-shave lotion for the best results.

The thing about electric shavers is that your beard needs at least a month to adjust to the new cutting method to see real results. So, it's generally a good idea to give yourself that amount of time before deciding whether a shaver is good or bad. Luckily I use an electric shaver from time to time already, so my beard didn't need said adjustment time. This Panasonic can be used either wet or dry and can be used either with gel/foam or your shaving medium of choice, or with nothing at all. I've tried it dry, in the shower and with a gel with similar results. So, I think whatever works best with your workflow should suffice. I've found that the shaver gives a generally close shave, is not too loud and works well on difficult places (the curve of the chin, under the nose but over the lips, etc. I wouldn't hesitate buying this shaver if you're on a budget.
