For a small and inexpensive camera it shoots outstanding video in 4K. I love this and will probably get 2 more.

This is a good 4K camera in a very small package. I bought it to add into my camera collection so I could have a good fill camera while my main 4K cams record the main subject, but I’ve found this little camera can do more than just be a fill cam. Worth the $!

Camcorder takes wonderful video with great resolution. However the lens cover stopped closing after 4 months use.

I wanted to use a camcorder with remote control app so that I can control the exposure and the Panasonic HC-VX870 does the job. I previously tried the Sony AX53 and it defaults to full auto while in remote mode and messes up the video including the white balance switching to auto. The VX870 retains all my settings. Very useful. I had ignored Panasonic since a few bad experiences decades ago and has been a Sony user ever since. Now I am discovering Panny again :)

Camera is nice and has great picture quality. My son loves it and is looking forward to making many videos with it.

I bought this camera to do field interviews and like the size and weight quite a bit. The video quality (4k or standard HD) is superb, but not good enough for my purposes. The image is very grainy once you boost the gain beyond 9ev and the dynamic range is fairly low in high constrast situations. I wanted to love and keep this camera - it has an amazing "all auto" mode, easy-to-access manual controls, a high data rate, and images look nice with good light - but the limitations forced me to use my DSLR to shoot any indoor or mixed lighting interviews. In the end, I returned this camera. For the right person in good light it is a stellar and compact performer.

I absolutely love this camcorder, it's small and easily to handle.

The Panasonic HC-VX870K is a decent camera. It is comparable to the Sony FDR-AX53. It is suitable for video streaming. It can record and output in 4K (or HD 1080i/p) and connect to a capture card (such as Elgato Cam Link, which supports 1080) via the micro-HDMI output. It connects to a PC via USB for file transfer easily. Audio controls are cumbersome, because they are under the "recording" setup menu. Only when you connect to external head-phones (highly recommended) you can access the audio controls from the LCD panel via a short-cut. This camera could have a better user-interface. You should take time to read through the manual to understand all the settings. There is an option for "clean HDMI output", and another option for "disable the clock display". You can connect external microphone or mixer output to the "MIC" input. If connecting a USB-controlled mixer output to the external microphone input and streaming to a capture card via camera's micro-HDMI you may need an isolation transformer (isolator) to prevent ground-loop noise (a cheap car stereo one available at Best Buy can work, though for preserving audio equalization you can buy a professional grade version, though ensure proper grounding). The power cable is a bit short. If you have a long-duration recording, have an extension cord.

Bought this to record my son’s soccer games. Picture is great and sound is great. You can hear the coach from across the field.

I've had this camcordrt since last sept and have been using it a lot. Ive been using the camcorder for my sons football games and my daughter kajukenbo events. Its been pretty awesome so far and I have no complaints. I don't have mivh experience with camcorderd but this has been pretty easy for me to use.

Works well. Portable, good quality and light weight. I like it.
