Great high zoom camera

Note that while the 60X zoom appears to be greater than those with 50+X, it is not the case. The max zoom is the equivalent of a 35mm 1200 lens, which several other cameras also claim. The advantage of the Lumix FZ70 over these cameras is that its wide angle 20mm is wider, giving the Lumix a greater range of zoom. This camera has a lot of options--so many you could spend a great deal of time learning to use them all. The good news is that you can use it right out of the box with almost a zero learning curve. So, immediately useful, plenty of room for growth. The one down side to the camera is the fixed LCD monitor. My previous camera had a movable LCD monitor which I often used to get more interesting shots by either holding the camera high over my head or close to the ground. These shots are more difficult with a fixed LCD monitor. It also does not have built-in GSP. While this is a useful feature, it isn't a deal breaker as I often take photos where the camera would not be able to see the GSP satellites anyway. I have been very impressed with the zoom capability. I was able to photograph Jupiter and clearly see its moons. I also really appreciate having the flexibility of take close up and wide angle photos with minimum movement on my part. I love this camera.

great camera for beginner wanting more!

After trying the camera out this past week, it has done everything I need plus more! Good quality camera and very well priced. Picture quality is fantastic. Movies seem to be great also but have not tried many. Easy to use. Going to keep this camera for a long time!

awesome camera

I did some research online and read reviews prior to buying it and have not been disappointed. I just put it in auto mode and the camera does the rest. The pics are of excellent quality.
