    Cheapest 4K interchangeable system

I bought this one a whim when it first dropped to $499. I've owned Canon and Sony systems. I do both stills and video. I had heard a lot of misconceptions about m43 systems, such as bad lowlight performance, no shallow depth of field, reduced dynamic range, etc. The same week I bought this I got a generic Nikon focal reducer off eBay. I own a bunch of vintage manual lenses. My favorite combo has been a 35mm Nikkor AI F2, which becomes an effective Super 35 (or APSC) equivalent (yay bokeh). With the focal reducer, I used it at ISO 3200 in a dark club for stills and video. Yes they were a bit noisy, but the 4K files downscaled nicely to 1080p. Some of my favorite pictures have been with this camera and that 35mm lens as well. It’s also very reliable as it’s never overheated on my on long shoots. The autofocus is meh for video. Speakyof which, the included kit lens is light, sharp, has good contrast and color, and it’s stabilized. It’s definitely outgunned by the Olympus 12-40 f2.8 pro in terms of color and highlights but still decent. The 4K files are relatively small and editable even on my mid-2014 15in MacBook Pro using FCPX. The controls are very straight forward and intuitive. There’s a dial or button for everything, as well as a really good touch screen that flips out. The WiFi controls are a lot more useful than even on a Sony as you have full control over all settings, even touch to focus. Battery life for video has averaged around 2hours of continuous shooting. This camera has been of greater use and value to me than I ever expected it to be.

“I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for Panasonic. I received product samples as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.” I recently received a Panasonic LUMIX G7 camera and while I'm still getting comfortable with it, I already know I love it! The 4K feature is key for capturing the good stuff, those quick moments where smile are biggest, eyes are brightest and time has really stood still. The first time I used the camera, I wasn't familiar with how to use the 4K feature. But I loved the photos that I took just the same. The camera is lightweight and easy to take with you on whatever adventures you are setting out on. It's much less intrusive than when I bring my big DSLR camera. It is now the only camera I will take with me on a trip or even just heading out on an outing with my kids. And then I learned a little more about the 4K mode. I'm hooked! Shooting in 4K felt a little odd for me since I'm used to shooting the moment with a click of the shutter. Since we were at the beach, and the kids were playing in the water, I decided to try out the 4K Start/Stop mode. What this means is that you are basically taking short videos where you can then extract the perfect image after the fact! As I sat down with my camera once we got home from that trip, and really started to go through the footage, it became clear that this is THE way to shoot when you are taking picture of active children. I got some amazing shots of the kids in the waves that I would never have gotten in a regular mode. To be able to scroll through these videos, frame by frame, with the touch screen monitor is awesome. I was able to save some truly special moments captured this way. The fact that this camera has wifi and you can share you photos immediately is too cool and I'm beyond excited to play around with the Panasonic Image App which means I can control the camera from my phone! This technology is truly changing photography and how moms capture their kids!

Best affordable mirrorless camera for video!

The G7 is the lightest and least expensive of the Panasonic Lumix line of mirrorless cameras in a DSLR-like form factor (as opposed to their rangefinder-like cameras). I bought it for making videos for our YouTube channel, and it's been a complete success at that (more than 50 finished videos so far), plus it makes excellent still photos. PLUSES: Produces pro-level HD and 4K video. VERY light, VERY affordable, but not cheaply made or designed. Will do about 80-90% of what the flagship Panasonic GH5 will do for about 30% of the price (and 50% of the weight). Easy to learn, easy to use, good software, well laid-out controls. Panny is the world leader in mirrorless hybrid photography. MINUSES: Mostly plastic (but high quality plastic), not the diecast alloy chassis of the GH5, G9, GH5s, G85. Not water-sealed/dust-sealed/frostproof/etc. like those more expensive (and heavier) cameras, and certainly not as durable. Doesn't have an audio out jack for monitoring sound as you record, though it does have audio input for an external mic (which I always use). (Not a deal-breaker: NO mirrorless camera in this price range has audio out, but watch your recording levels.) No IBIS, or in-body image stabilization (the lenses are stabilized anyway), but I haven't missed it (and lots of videomakers turn IBIS off anyway). The G7 is a really usable and likable camera, shoots pro-quality video, and it's cheap enough you can fit lots of lenses, lights and mics into the budget.

All the guest didn't feel intimidated when they were in front of lens. Over 500 pictures. Great price on sale $499 that is a steal.

    Favorite Camera for Action Shots

I received a Panasonic LUMIX G7 camera. All opinions are my own. I've been using a traditional DSLR for the last couple of years now. The Lumix G7 technology is entirely new to me, and at first I was a little bit intimidated by all of the options and having to learn new technology. After a few weeks with this camera, I still feel like I am just scraping the surface of what it can do! I reach for this camera when I want to take action shots of the kids. The 4K mode allows you to take several seconds (or up to 30 minutes) of video. You can break the video down into about 30 frames per second, and pull any of those images from the video without losing any quality. So, I can get a little video of my child jumping and then look at every frame and pick the ones that catch that exact moment I was looking for - which makes for some seriously amazing photos! Also super handy is the Panasonic app that allows you to connect your device to the camera and download the photos of your choice directly to your phone. This makes it super easy to share your pictures online, because you don't need to go through the whole process of downloading them all on to you computer before you can share them (although I have done that, too, for editing purposes). This camera is exciting - it takes my photography to another level and really lets me capture movement in a new way.

The Lumix G7 camera is an absolute game-changer! With its superb performance and exceptional features, it has truly transformed my photography experience. The 16-megapixel sensor delivers stunningly sharp and detailed images, even in low light conditions. The 4K video recording capabilities are outstanding, allowing for professional-quality videos with incredible clarity and color accuracy. One of the standout features of the G7 is its lightning-fast autofocus system, which ensures that you never miss a moment. The build quality is impressive, and the camera feels solid in hand. Its compact size and lightweight design make it a versatile companion for both beginners and experienced photographers. THE Must Have Camera for Moms

I received a Panasonic LUMIX G7 camera. All opinions are my own. I'll admit when I first saw the Panasonic LUMIX G7 camera, I was intimidated. I am comfortable with my DSLR, but it's so heavy and inconvenient to carry around every day. I have my phone, but I was continually missing great photos of my children because they are constantly in motion. The Panasonic LUMIX G7 allows me to capture just the right moment with the 4K feature. Don't know what that is? It's awesome! The camera basically takes a video, and allows you to choose which still from the video you want to save. You save it right on the camera with the touchscreen. It's unlike anything I have ever seen before! You can then send the pictures to your phone via wi-fi and an app from Panasonic. From there you can upload them to your phone and share across social media. As a mom, it's great. As a blogger, it's essential. I LOVE this camera! If you are looking for a lightweight camera that allows you to capture incredible moments even with constantly moving children, and that's easy to share photos, look no further. This is the camera you've been looking for.

This camera is amazing. It's extremely lightweight, shoots in 4k, and has an easy to use interface. There's a lot said about the G7 in a hundred different places on the internet, so I'll only reiterate in slight. For the price point, you get a ton of features. The video quality is pretty much the same as the GH4, so if you want to tighten up your budget and get more accessories, go for this one. You'll lose audio out, and v-log, the metal build of the GH4, weather sealing, 96 FPS slow motion shooting, and a few 4k settings, but I have yet to be affected by this. If you're just starting, get this. Worry less about your equipment and pixels and audio and going crazy spending dollars on the best of the best. Worry more about the movie you want to make, your vision.

Such A Amazing 4K Video Camera For The Price!

everything about this camera is out there on the internet so theres no need for me to explain it in detail in specs wise. but from my personal experience while using it, the g7 Blew my mind in overall quality and performance that i got for what ive paid for it. it was on sale for such a even great price! i have made a vlog using the g7 and uploaded it on youtube if you are curious about the video quality. the video is amazing although you wont get any professional features like the GH5 but for casual user like my self, this camera should be more than enough! Now since i didnt really play around too much with the photo performance i cannot really tell if the g7 is a great camera for pictures or not but ive shot some pictures with it and i was pretty happy with the result. i tried manual then auto both resulting in good pictures as is without post editing. now the cons about this camera to me are only the build quality and the pretty slow auto fucusing when shooting video, but those are not enough reasons for me to not giving this camera 5 star. they say you get what you pay for but for me, i got more then what ive paid for this little amazing camera to be honest. not too long after i purchased the g85 came out! so unfortunatelly i had to exchange it with the g85 ( Thank you best buy for the hassle free return policy that cannot be beat!!) just because of its 5 axis in body stabilization which is AMAZING! Well Now thats going to be another review i suppose!LOL If you can find this camera for a discounted price or on sale and you are looking for your very first camera for mainly video rather than photos get this! if you care so much more about photo than video, well maybe this camera is not for you look for canon or nikon or even sony cameras. good luck and have a great day!

I got this camera primarily to increase the production value of my YouTube channel (I paired it with an Elgato CamLink 4K capture card and it works just fine). So far I am very impressed with the camera's abilities as a high quality camcorder. This review will primarily discuss its abilities as a camcorder (meaning its HDMI output goes to my computer) instead of a dedicated camera, although I will talk about it some. Also, I only use it in 1080p mode for recording in OBS, so keep that in mind. Pros: - Very easy to use. It was very much plug & play. - Clean HDMI output (which was a must for me). - Video quality is excellent in 1080p60. It gave me everything that I wanted. Note that this camera alone will not give you studio quality recordings, but paired with good lighting it works really well. - Camera doesn't have an auto shutdown, which makes sure that it continues recording no matter how long you are trying to use it as a camcorder. - Picture quality seems acceptable. This is my first "real" camera, so I can't say much other than I really do like the quality of the pictures it takes. - Came with basic accessories (shoulder strap, lens hood, lens cap). Cons: - No autofocus when working in camcorder mode. This one is pretty annoying, and as far as I know there's no way of adding it. So if you want to use this as a camcorder and record a dynamic subject, you will have to half-press the shutter button to get it to refocus. For me this wasn't a huge issue, but I can see how it would be for some. - I've heard that in 4K recording the audio can get out of sync with the video. I haven't used 4K recording, and in my setup this would be a nonissue, but I thought it was worth mentioning if you are not using this as a camcorder. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase. If you are going to use this as a webcam, then I suggest getting an AC adapter so you don't have to be limited by the battery life of the camera, as well as the CamLink 4K to get full use from this camera.

This camera makes me want to shoot more pictures more often! It's small and compact yet easy to hold and grip with confidence. It is very light and a bit plastic yet robust and not like a toy at all. Micro 4/3 comes with challenges such as finding a wide enough lens in order to deal with the crop factor. I was able to find a fairly inexpensive 9mm Olympus lens (which seems like a toy) and that becomes a 18mm equivalent as on a full frame sensor camera. Being a mirrorless camera makes it able to adapt many lens types such as old manual Canon FD lenses. Images can look super cool and with a wide open aperture, you can get some very nice "boke" as a result of shallow depth of field. The kit lens does perform well and yes, the auto focus is not super quick like the new Sony cameras. I wouldn't use this to film fast moving subjects or sport events. It does shoot 4K and the images are stunning! The video is very crisp and the color is pleasing. It doesn't have the magenta tint Sony cameras seem to have. It doesn't have the golden richness of the Canon's either. Panasonic is in a nice place in the middle. Of course you can change things in the edit, but it's nice having great color right out of the camera. There are some excellent guides out there that will help you set the camera for "filming" video. This thing is a brilliant little 4K camera that's very affordable compared to its big brothers (G4 and G5, G5s, and G9). May not have all the features as they do but at this price point, it pack a pretty considerable punch with light weight and wide range of adaptability, the G7 is not only super for video but awesome for on-the-go picture taking. The swivel monitor swings out and can be tilted in many directions. So selfies or vlogging is easier than with most other cameras. There a is a con: the battery door. It's on the bottom and can be difficult to place on a tripod because the plate can cover and block the door. Also the SD card is in the same compartment as the battery instead of on the side. This can be cumbersome to switch out a card or battery. Despite the battery door, I love this camera and it just makes picture and video taking more of a joy than any other digital camera I've ever had. Pleasure to use!

When I bought this camera I was just starting out in photography. This camera has done me really good. The durability is top notch, although it’s not weather sealed or dust sealed, this camera can take a fall. I dropped the camera and lens from 10ft and not a search or nothing, and it fell on concrete. The quality is great. When you zoom in it’s not as good but that because of the megapixels on the camera. Fast auto focus, and when I say fast, extremely fast. Maybe not as fast as the Sony A7IV but still crazy fast. This camera does great everything photography. I’m not a videographer but WOW this camera is awesome for filmmaking. I mean great. This camera is super lightweight and easy to carry around. I suggest buying a different strap cause the one that comes on this one is crap. But like every camera some might not be as well in some areas. The ISO is kinda to much just at 1600, but I’ve never had a different camera so I don’t know if that is bad or not. It also depends on your availability during skills as well. This camera does not let you really have a preview mode for the picture without pressing buttons (again idk if all cameras have that). Overall great fairly priced camera for any purpose.

This is my first Panasonic and mirrorless camera and I love it. I start photography back in 1988 with Nikon all the way until I buy this camera a few days ago. Everything in the camera is great but I'm still learning the operating system that is different from Nikon. But the best feature of this camera is the size, weight and price. Nikon equipment is very heavy so this is the perfect system to travel very light with a small bag and without attracting attention. I have my Nikon systema and I'm love Nikon but and going to stay with Panasonic. Another good reason is that micro four thirds sistem is use by Olympus too so you can use lens and flashes from this two companies. Even if you want to buy a second body, you can choose between the two companies what is better to you. Panasonic team up with Leica and you can have better lens with the Leica quality reputation. So yes. I'm in love with this new system.

I got this strictly for its video capability. The image quality is good. Focus does hunt sometimes and focus tracking can be slow. The camera feels cheap. It is biggish for a mirrorless camera but is very light. That doesn't give me confidence that it's very durable.

I’ll start by saying I got the open box version during the pre Christmas sale making this only $399. At that price it was no contest as to what camera to buy. I did get this primarily for video. It is extremely strong at providing beautiful video and pretty darn decent low light video. The biggest problem with low light being the autofocus. It can be quite atrocious focusing in low light. Lots of hunting even when what your subject is staying in one focal plane. This can be avoided by focusing once and then switching to manual focus. This won’t cause too much of a problem for me since I will be using it for mostly planned shots of short duration without needing too much autofocus. However in brighter lighting it works much better. And since auto and manual focus can be toggled so easy for t can be worked around in low light as well. As fa as photography, I do not have a lot of experience on that end. Since I went with a mirror less camera instead of a camcorder I plan on getting into it a little more since I have a nice little camera for photography now, but I can’t really say how it performs other than it’s obvioualy much better that any point and shoot if used in the past. At the price this sells at. (Constantly changing between 599 and 799 typically I’d choose this over others in its price range. If you need autofocus to be spot on all the time it sounds like canon has the best in that regards. You will just have to stick to 1080 video then. Which isn’t a problem. I will be outputting everything at 1080 anyway. It’s juat really handy to be able to crop all my shots down to 1/4 size and still retain 1080 resolution to give me ultimate flexibility.

I was torn between Canon 70D, Sony 6300a, Canon 80D & Canon G7X Mark II. Sony 6300a too expensive for the price also can't see the screen from the front of the camera. I have other Canon lenses but the Canon 70D I was on the border with but no 4k video for the PRICE & The 80D again no 4K video.Canon G7X Mark I & Mark II no interchangeable lenses. Lumix G7 compact size ez to carry around still getting use to as far as using as a video camera. Limited on lenses but there's enough lenses for the focal lengths I'm currently shooting at.

We have a GH4 and I bought this as a gimmick to see how good it really was. This camera has been nicknamed the GH4 baby brother. I only use it to shoot 4k video, not stills and photos so my review is based on that alone. The kits lens is terrible, but included with camera, I'm not complaining. I never use it anyway. It feels like a toy compared to the GH4, very plasticy feeling. The record max length in 30 mins for video which I'm not a fan of but for $800... This camera is a deal! The video is shoots is on par with the GH4 and very easy to match in post edit. I'm buying another.

This camera is super light weight! Even comes with lense kit and awesome manual for reference if your a beginner like me. This camer is like the best out there for it's price point. I'm a YouTube guy my channel is Deon 0026 I make fish videos and vlog. The 4K is real! I know you have modern technology, like cell phones... hehe so do I! But. This is like so many more shots per second it intensified ever video and quality was unreal! If you don't believe me check out my channel and look how awesome it's doing ! It's also tons of research and resources on YouTube to help you be a PRO WITH OUT READING THE MANUAL!! Hehe. Sorry I'm not big on instructions I like YouTube. So it's touch screen. Easy to navigate with touch or buttons that's fairly labeled. And it has a decent built in mic so to add one like I did was optional. I recommend this camer to any PRO OR BEGINNER. You have the option to have swivel the 3.5 inch screen any direction you'd like! So selfies just got real haha. It's like 40+ picture modes. Burst shooting etc. now the lense kit come with it is awesome but I think I'm going upgrade to catch bugs on trees without being so close lol. I'm like into photography now. Like my YouTube saying YICKADEE HOLLA

I would recommend this to a friend
