I did a lot of research before buying this camera. Talked to a lot of friends who are into blogging/photography along with hours and hours of youtube reviews. Comparing this to the A6300-6500 they have their differences but if i was to choose id go with this one or the a6500 at this price point. Autofocus is better on the 6500 but overheating and battery are better on this in my opinion. Great price point if you're just getting started. This camera will do everything you need. I love it. No need to upgrade for a LONG time! What are you waiting forrrr get it!!!!

About a year ago I bought and used this camera for a week and returned it (was trying to get into vlogging and wanted something smaller than the tradition SLR). I ended up buying a Sony RX100 V which was much easier to put in the pocket and go, but I hated the battery life and lack of mic input. So a year later I sold the RX100 and put it towards the G85 and do not regret it. I recently did a videoshoot using my A6300 as my primary camera and the G85 for B-Roll footage. Should've used the G85 as primary. I love the color science of Panasonic over Sony. Only thing I do not like about this camera is the crappy Autofocus. Everything else about it is amazing. 4k is great (cropped though), battery life is way better than the RX100 and better than the A6300. No over heating in 4k too unlike the Sony cameras. Originally started out with a Panasonic G7 (which I loved as well but lacked IBIS).

When I decided to get a DSLM camera for a Christmas gift for my wife, I have to admit it was harder than I thought it would be. I did a lot of research and started out thinking I would go with the Sony A6000. Being a Sony, the quality would not be in question. But after digging a little deeper I had a few doubts. The Sony could only use Sony lenses which are great but expensive. Also the less user friendly stability, anti-shake feature concerned me to some degree. The Canon and Nikon were less advanced in my price range. All the reviews pointed at the Lumix. After I started digging into the Lumix G85, it checked off all the boxes. The camera is very solid yet very light. It is water and dust resistant, it features anti-shake in both the camera and the lens, the menu is feature loaded yet fairly simple to navigate, and the micro four thirds format allows for the use of lots of other lenses by other manufacturers as well. We were able to take great photos immediately! Focusing is fast and easy. The 16 megapixel rating was a concern as opposed to the 20 megapixel Sony, but after shooting l couldn’t be happier with the quality. The shots are smooth and vibrant even after zooming and blowing up the subjects. The video is super with good sound and so easy to use. The battery life is very good and Wi-Fi pairing was a breeze as well. In short, this is a perfect everyday use camera that is easy and fun. It is light and balanced and is feature loaded and I am a big fan and completely satisfied.

I really like this camera for many reasons: 1. Easy yo use 2. Great picture quality 3. Best value ever 4. Awesome, awesome 4k and 1080 video 5. Weather sealed 6. Fantastic lens 7. Beautiful looks 8. Great comfortable handling 9. Lumix quality 10. Built in flash 11. Peace of mind (Lots of recommendations from other users and owners on youtube). Friends, this is a great camera and more durable than the pocket sized point and shoots that you’ll have to keep mailing in for repair because they are so delicate. Trust me. I’ve sent in my RX100 four times already.

I am a shooter of Micro 43 and the G85 is a great example of this format. I like the build of this product. This camera takes great images and the price was a deal maker. I like the way this camera handles and it’s a great size when you use larger lens. The kit lens is a nice compliment to this body. Lots of customizable settings in this camera. Solid choice.

I normally shoot Nikon full frame cameras, but wanted something with great image quality that travels well. This fits the bill! Has all the features of a DSLR in a small package. Actually it has a few features that I am envious my Nikon's don't have, but has a learning curve. Only negative is that the supplied lens is not too good in night scenes, so I am adding a 20mm 1.7 for night shooting. All that in a small case that I couldn't even fit my Nikon body with battery pack into.

This camera is great. The product write up is spot on in describing its qualities minus the well documented autofocus trouble. My opinion is for the price no one touches Panasonic image quality and features. But you have to be able to work the focus. Not for point and shooters or vloggers in my opinion. You really need to step up to the g9 and gh5 before noticing a somersault reliable autofocus and even then it doesn’t compare to Sony and canon. But I use these Lumix cameras for weddings and they deliver amazing footage

If you're thinking about the lumix G7, you should look at the G85 which is the replacement. -New IBIS (In Body Image Stabilization) allows you to use lenses that do not have IS built in. This is huge for me. -Real time 4k record-output via HDMI! and monitor via HDMI ! -Better battery life. (I recorded over an hour of 4k, with only 1 of 3 notches of battery power used. The G7 would usually die after almost an hour. -Nice chunky handle -Dual IS 2 -4208 bit internal recording to the SD! - removal of low pass filter! this actually seems to be one of the reasons the battery lasts longer (IMO).

I bought this camera mainly for the video features and was very happy with its capabilities. 1080p and 4k video are crisp and smooth with built in stabilization, and autofocus wasnt as had as some reviews made it seem. Some tips, make sure lighting is great and play with auto focus settings to get the best experience. 4k AF is not as accurate and quick as 1080p but will work in the right hands. I havent used the standard shooting features enough to make a professional opinion, but so far its been fantastic for the price!

I wanted an affordable camera for still photos and video (mainly video). All of my photos and videos up until this point have been taken on phone cameras and wanted something better. Even with the advancements on phones they will never match the capabilities of a mirroirless or dslr camera. The camera had to have a mic input, no record time limit and affordable lenses. This checks are 3 boxes. This is a great camera for beginner filmmakers, photographers and content creator who want a compact and capable camera. The only downside is the auto focus isnt the most reliable but not as bad as reviewers have said it is.

A very good choice and a good value with current pricing. If you want to venture into some movie and image capture at the next level, this is a great choice and even the supplied "kit lens" is very good. Much better image quality than the similarly priced Cannon M50. Nice stabilization and amazing features. Definitely needs a good read/familiarization with the manual/videos to get to know all it can do.

I spent a lot of time doing research for a new camera. I was thinking of either getting an OMD-em1 or GH4, but after reading reviews on this camera and shooting it side by side with the GH4, the Panasonic G85 blew me away. The in body stabilization is fantastic, especially with Dual IS2 using the new 12-60mm kit lens. I have taken shots in low light with 1 second exposure times that come out remarkably sharp. Really happy with my decision.

The G85 is a solid camera. I was surprised to see it with the kit lens for $499.00 + $40 tax, so I snagged it. The box did not have a sticker seal/Open Box qualifying conditions which would indicate to me as a panasonic user that it's used -- Even though, I bought this advertised New. Still, the camera and kit lens came in wonderful condition, and everything was there. It's a stellar camera even in 2022. I use it as a B-Cam for my GH5, even used it for my sister's wedding.

I own a production company and purchased this camera because I needed an extra camera for a music video I was going to film that same day. I didn't realize what I was buying until I started filming scenes with it. The stabilization this camera has is outstanding. My handheld shots look better than ever. I like the Cinelike D profile a lot, the 4k looks legit and the 12-60mm lens it comes with looks great as well(or at least way better than what I expected). Overall, I would say this camera is definitely worth the money you'd spend on it and it's a great camera for beginners, alike for seasoned professionals. I highly recommend it.
