Easily the very best micro four third camera

I used to own the Panasonic GH2, GH3, GH4 and now the GH5 and every model up was quite an improvement in all aspects and this one is no exception. This is easily the very best micro four third camera you can buy. Don’t listen to the bad reviews regarding the autofocus; autofocus is working just fine on this camera and actually it is improved over the GH4. I very much like the slightly larger (about 10%) body, on all the previous models I used to have a battery grip attached just so I can hold it better and have a better grip on the camera but so far it seems I don’t need a battery grip at all for the GH5. I mainly use this camera for shooting real estate with the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm, this combination produces outstanding picture quality and videos with in camera body stabilization.

Absolutely worth the upgrade from the GH4

I'm a prosumer film maker and was hesitant to upgrade from the GH4. I've been out and done some filming and the purchase has been absolutely worth it. It is a bit more bulky, but not overly so. The most significant add for me is the in-camera stabilization. Coupled with a native panasonic MFT lens, the dual IS is crazy. I can shoot nearly like a slider with both the 12-35 and the 35-100. Highlight recommended.
The only con is the auto-focus, but that's well-documented online.

Excellent image quality, matching the legendary Canon's fantastic skin tones. 4K video and an easy to work with set of video formats. Double stabilization (if used with a compatible lens), great audio features, clean HDI output for those who are looking to do LIVE video, dual sd card slots + many many other, truly made for a filmmaker features. This is the best camera for video that I’ve gotten my hands on. With the new autofocus fix in the latest firmware updates it’s now even better. While the contrast autofocus will never match canon and Sony’s technology it is much improved and far more reliable. And nothing in this price range delivers on image quality like the gh5. Nice solid camera. The pro series adds a lot of weight compared to the semi pro line. But the weight feels good to me and is easily handled by the crane 2 and ronin s gimbles. Endless options to tweak your image. Enjoy working with it and finding your own look or take a shortcut and search for many pros settings posted all over the internet. This camera won’t disappoint. Disclaimer I don’t realoy take photos with this camera and I’m not a photographer. Only work in video. But the pictures I have taken are great by my standards.

The GH5 has it all, everything a professional videographer needs within an acceptable consumer price range. The 4K 4:2:2 at 10bit is unmatched at this price point, and the catalog of usable lenses on the GH5 is incredible. While the extra crop factor can be a bit of a nuisance at times, the quality output from this Panasonic gem is worth the annoyance. Very solid build, full-size HDMI output, WiFi, rotating touch screen, customizable button map... it has everything! Highly recommend getting the Vlog color profile as well.

So the menu system takes some work to get used to. I came from another Panasonic system so I was already primed for that. It captures amazing video. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of the footage. The only thing I would complain about is that, after a few months of light usage, the lcd display hinge is a bit wobbly. It's wobbly enough to cause me a bit of fluster when preparing for shots in motion.

This is an excellent camera and I will miss the 4K 60... if you are wanting this camera and autofocus Is your priority then I would not recommend it . If you are a manual shooter then I would highly recommend this camera even over the Sony a7iii and over the Sony as7ii... in my opinion autofocus is crucial for gimbal work and that is why I returned this camera and I am now waiting on the Sony a7iii... the only thing I will miss is the 4K footage at 60 frames per second. The a7iii is has way better dependable autofocus that I need and it is getting a lot of hype for alll of the photo and video features ... if you are a manual shooter who wants photos and video I would also recommend the a7iii . But like I said if your a manual shooter and are just looking for video features then get the gh5

I love this camera. Its 180 fps converted in body to 24fps slow motion is sick! Silky smooth. The time laps is amazing. I love the micro 4/3 system for travel. The 4k is stunning and the in body stabilization is just like being on a glide cam or steady cam rig. One great camera!

So if ur buying this camera im gonna assume your into making videos, It shoots 4k 10bit 4:2:2 @ 30fps and 4k 60fps 8 bit 4:2:0. It has an amazing gimbal like sensor stabilization. but its biggest flaw is the auto focus, it sucks. still a good camera tho.

Solid camera. Honestly I made the best choice between this and the G7. Got it to use for my El Gato 4k Camlink and works well. The body isn't that heavy and it's fun to use.

Coming from a GH3, this was an amazing upgrade! So many new features like 4K, IBIS, 6K Photoburst, 180fps at 1080. I could go on and on. Can't wait to get out there and put it through it's paces.

This camera came out a couple years ago, and still to this day I believe is the best camera money can buy. Under $1500 you get fantastic 4K with robust recording options, anamorphic support, HLG support, and V-Log l. Dual SD card slots is really useful for me as I do backup recording which has saved me on so many occasions. If you add a speedbooster, you can even use ef lenses as well. Battery life is great, I get about 2 hours of C4K recording. This camera is a BEAST.

I've owned every model of the Lumix GH series starting with the GH2 and this camera is by far the best of the series. Capable of producing great photos but absolutely amazing video at up to 4K 60p, this camera has everything I need as a video professional- 5-axis IBIS, 10-bit 4:2:2, slow motion up to 180fps, great color, 12+stops of dynamic range. The list goes on and on. If you're looking for a hybrid DSLR and are serious about the best video quality for the price, you need to buy this camera!

This is an excellent camera. The image stabilization is incredible when paired with a Panasonic lens with image stabilization. Out of the box it takes great pictures, but there are tons of options to optimize the camera. Luckily there are lots of videos on line to show you how to use the different features and people publish configuration files that you can load into the camera to get started. Video is stunning, just make sure you purchase a SD card that can handle the speed.

I went into debt to purchase this camera and it was absolutely worth it. If you’re considering this, just get it. It’s an amazing all in one camera regardless of what you’re using it for. The only negative is low light, but in reality it sees about as good as you can with your eye. The sensor also allows you to get extra reach out of telephotos from other systems. And you can adapt just about any lens to this system which is amazing.
Just buy it.

I got the gh5 with high expectations based off reviews seen online and off of the amount I was going to pay for it. Definitely worth the money and everything I expected. I switched from Nikon (although I still use my Nikon for photo). I do have one warning if you plan to still use Nikon lens and are getting a metabones... the auto focus won't work with Nikon. So I had to start buying canon lens . But the camera is still great

From shooting remarkable photos to stunning videos at 24 fps, the GH5 is a wonderful camera. The settings allow a beginner to use it with ease, while a professional can tweak it to their liking. Use it to shoot digital cine-quality video comparable to that of a Red camera for one-tenth the cost. It's just great.
