    NOT THAT GOOD

Picture quality on this player (BD-30) is really good. But after a year it doesn't want to play blue ray disc only regular dvd. I emailed panasonic and I was told to press pause, open/close and fast forward all at the same but still didn't work. I was lucky that the store (where I bought it) replaced it and gave me the same model. As usual, picture is good. But again after a year it doesn't play blue ray disc only regular dvd (already updated the firmware). E-mailed panasonic & they told me the same thing.

So a couple of years ago I bought a BD-30 for my media room as my primary DVD device. I now have a huge collection of DVDs and a quickly growing Blu-Ray collection. Also, I author Blu-Ray disks with Camcorder AVCHD contents. The BD30 has successfully handled every disk that I have tried, every: Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray home created, DVD, and DVD AVCHD. Panasonic has been great at doing firmware upgrades with the most recent being 8/2009 (today is 9/2009). From their website (www.panasonic.net/support) you download the new code, unzip, burn onto an data CD, put CD into the drive and it will take care of the rest. As I said, I'm so happy with this, I also bought one for use in the bedroom's AV system. So, two out of two have worked flawlessly. Highly recommended!
