Overly sensitive unit

I have now had 2 new units and 2 recondition units for Panasonic. The
DMPBDT500 has great picture and sound, but if it will not play BR rental disks without locking up what is the point. The units have all been extremely sensitive to any type of smudges, scratches and stuff you cannot even see. After watching a movie on the DMPBDT500 and having it stop 3-12 times during the movie or even locking up and restarting, I place the same movie in my old Sony 350 and it plays fine. The Sony is 6 years old and has never even had a firmware update. I like the features of the Panasonic but the sensitivity to disk irregularities must be fixed. If you want a smooth playing trouble free player, this is not it.
