Great TV at a great price

Picture is clear. I hooked this up to a home theater system and have that home theater experience I was shooting for between the large crisp screen and rumbling of the speakers awesome! I have this smart TV hooked into the Samsung Smart Blu Ray DVD 1000 watt home theater system and am able to watch Netflix, Hulu plus, pandora, brows the Internet and do so much more. Set up between the TV and theater system was so simple the TV found the system right away not much to it. I considered a 60" but was worried it would be to big and looked at 3-D but did not think it was a feature any of us would use. In the end I'm very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this TV. It is a sleek looking TV with all the right options!

I don't understand some of the other reviewers complaints saying they had this TV for over a year and it broke. This TV has only been on the market for a few weeks now. The picture quality is superb, my games and movies just look astounding and I have been noticing details in the backgrounds I never noticed before.

The price for this TV is at the low-end for 50" TV's but the image far outperforms the competitors in the bracket. Being Plasma there is a great refresh rate and deep blacks.
I did a lot of research before purchasing this TV and it has met my expectations.
The buzzing that I have read about is there but is insignificant - I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't been listening for it. Also you can only hear it if there is no sound being produced so in normal watching conditions it won't make a difference.

Great Internet TV for the money

This TV replaced a 50 inch Panasonic that was four years old and was damaged by lightning. We were so glad to find a similar replacement for considerably less and with 1080 rather than 720. Picture is excellent but I think the older model provided more glare resistance.
I was also surprised at the remote which cannot be seen when watching in a dark room. You really need to turn on a light to switch from regular TV to internet or to set the sleep timer because the keys do not light. They really should upgrade the remote on this otherwise excellent TV.

Another solid plasma by Panasonic. However, beforewarned that this model is best suited for very dark rooms or night time viewing as there is a bad screen glare. Moreover, this model like many other recent Panasonic plasmas suffers from brightness fluctuation (where the brightness on screen will automatically change as a result of a pre-programmed power saving feature to reduce energy costs). The only solution is a manual firmware upgrade or swapping out the main board, which has to be done by a licensed Panny technician.

Great picture. On the default setting the picture is indeed dark. Switching the picture mode to cinema improved the brightness immensely. The set could use one or two more HDMI inputs.

My 2nd day. A few concerns : I've heard popping noises, up close you can see what looks like static, altho who is gonna be watching tv that close, also I'm in a small bedroom and you can't tell from just sitting on the bed. I'm just very picky. Also a bit laggy in the very beginning and its mid movie now and have yet to see that anymore. Those are what I've seen so far, but for the price and the crazy cool features. I'd say it's a pretty good deal. And the picture really is amazing compared to the 32" I just replaced with this one after 7 years.

I have always bought led or LCD tv's based on all the rumors I hear about plasma tv's. I did a lot of research and found out plasmas are better and ranked higher than LEDs, so bought this Panasonic plasma. It was an open box display so got a huge discount on it.I just love every thing about it, black level, beautiful accurate colors, and 600hz motion.

I have had tv for at least a year. I was surprised to see it for sale still,aa I purchased it. I am still as happy now as when I set it up. Plasma is heavier by far but the quality for the money is definitely there with this set. It has all the smart tv options and connects automatically to other Verria devices (aka Sony blue ray)

This TV is astounding, the stand is like granite, the setup is easy, and the picture will blow your mind. If you don't like the Las Vegas style LED/LCD, this is the one. Plasma has always been the most respected model, I'm still amazed it's now the cheapest.

Adding sound is a must

This is our second Panasonic plasma TV. Our first one got hit by lightning so we went shopping for a new one. This unit looked fantastic in the store, we loved the size and the fact that it was lighter in weight than our old one. The first thing we noticed after hooking it up was that the sound was terrible. I believe this is because the speakers are facing the rear towards the wall. The menu does give you a couple options to help with this by choosing between the TV being on a stand or mounted to the wall. However this did not help. Also when we turned on our separate surround system we noticed it wasn't as loud as before. If we hadn't had such an awesome Panasonic plasma the first time with amazing sound we might not notice. Other than that it is a fine TV.
I am planning on purchasing a sound bar so we can try to improve the sound without using the surround.
Also this screen seems to be shinier than our previous model. The lights reflect much more, partly because the wire inputs are towards the bottom so we can't tilt the TV far enough down because the wires hit the wall.

Not bad for the $$$

Not a bad TV, espically for the price. I will say that the Best Buy employees were extremely helpful and professional. This is my 2nd Plasma TV which I prefer to the more realistic colors. I will say that after reading all of the reviews, I don's agree with many of them. The picture is OK at best-not bad though. The black levels (dark objects) look very washed out and lack detail unless the room is dark. Compensating to get better detail on dark objects washes out the brighter objects . I have not broken in the set yet nor have I had it calibrated so the pic quality may improve. The sound is not good at all, but then that is what home theater systems are for. This set does not blow my socks off but I am happy given what I paid for it. If you can afford a step up I would recommend it. The SMART functions lag a bit when controlling from my Iphone but Netflix seems to stream very well.

Terrible TV

Do not buy this tv. It has a defect that Panasonic will not fix. There are many web sites set up for this problem trying to get Panasonic to fix the issue. I am one of the lucky ones with my tv breaking after 4 years. After owning a plasma tv I will not buy one again. Although great picture, the tv gets extremely hot and the entire room is hot. If you set it on energy save the screen doesn't look as good, so what's the point? I am now trying to decide if I fix this tv or buy a new one. After reading about the problem, it seems cheaper to get a new tv. What a waist of money.
