Panasonic is by far superior of all others when it comes to plasma tv's! I do LOVE my Samsung LED but when I decided on a plasma for the living room, where all our sports and action movies are watched, there was no question!

Nice resolution, terrible reflections and audio

Bought this to replace an older 720P Panasonic plasma. The screen is SUPER reflective. Even in a room with all the lights out I could still see myself reflected in any slightly dark areas - just from the bounce light of the TV itself. It's like looking at TV through a mirror. I could even tell what color shirt I was wearing. In a well lit room it's nearly impossible to see through all the reflections. And the audio quality is terrible. Everything sounds tinny even after trying to adjust bass/treble. I know most run audio through a sound system but I wanted to use the internal speakers. My older 720P Panasonic plasma has MUCH better audio quality and the screen is no where near as reflective, even in a brightly lit room. Yes, I could see a difference with the 1080P resolution. But the extra resolution is not worth the headache of trying to ignore all the distracting screen reflections. I returned this model and re-installed my older 720P. The audio sounds great, the reflections are not distracting. I can live with the slightly lower resolution. I wish TV manufactures would stop with the super glassy reflective screens and bezels. I don't need to see myself reflected back at me when I'm trying to watch a movie.

If you buy a Panasonic, make sure that you get the extended warranty. You will need it as soon as the one year warranty runs out, Mine quit and after 15 months and had to put it in shop. After contacting Panasonic and telling them, they seemed to not care at all,Very disappointed in this TV,,For the prices that we pay ,we deserve better products and service without having to buy extended warranties

    Great plasma picture...when it works!

This is our 1st flat screen (model TC-P50S30) replacing our trusty but antiquated (15 yrs old yet still works!) and small Magnavox 27" tube. Bought as family present for Christmas '11. June '12 the power supply died (7 red blinking lights). Covered under Panasonic warranty although it took 10 days to get the part and put it back in service. 9 months later the same thing only this time it was not covered under Panasonic but the extended 4 yr Geek Squad Black Tie protection (good advice for any flat screen per Consumer Reports). Waited another 10 days and new part is bad.... waiting another 10 days. Next time it breaks GS/Best Buy will replace it. When that happens I will not get another Panasonic thats for sure. The technician doing the repair says this is very common for Panasonic Plasmas. The 42" has a recall against it. Just say NO!!!

Have bought 2 of these, one died before 1 year, other died after 17 months. I had to argue with Best Buy to get the 2nd one as a replacement. They wanted to give me back what I paid for it on Black Friday, I wanted a replacement. After going through several people up to the store manager he agreed to replace it. The 2nd one died in less than 17 months. The Geek Squad said it would cost $500-1,000 to fix. I paid $600 so fixing wasn't an option. The first one's screen was over $950 from Panasonic. Best Buy ordered one, they came to install it and when they opened the box it looked like someone stepped on the new screen. That was the last one Panasonic had. Thus, the replacement. I read the red blinking light code online and it was the energy refresh source. STAY AWAY FROM PANASONIC VIERRA TV'S. THEY ARE ABSOLUTE JUNK!!!!!

SC board, SD board, and SU board issues

Unfortunately this appears to be a common issue developing with these Panasonic sets i.e the '7 blinks of death'! Several customers are complaining about it. The problem is caused by one, both, or all of the following boards: SC board, SD board, and SU board. Most commonly, the SC board is the one that has failed and because Panasonic have received so many complaints about this issue. I am growing tired of no reply, no call back or if a call goes thru care rep only leaves 5-6 second message that is cut short with no information off v-mail message. Heard multiple time that my emails and faxes a have not been received by Panasonic even though fax receipt shows successful transmission.

Bought a TC-P50 series one year ago. Now got the red blink of death and Panasonic is giving me the run around. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! Was a nice TV when it worked but this is an on going issue with these TV's. Looked into fixing myself as I am a industrial controls technician. The boards needed to posibly fix are out of stock on all web sites that are selling them. Can not fix this if I wanted to. If you want a 75 pound peice of trash hanging on your wall come pick it up at my house, don't waste your hard earned money. Mine literally broke 2 days out of the one year warrenty.

Terrible buffering that goes on and on

I bought a Smart TV so I can watch Netflix and YouTube using this Panasonic Smart TV. The problem is that once I watch YouTube or Netflix it extremely slows down. Buffering occurs all the time, and it takes forever to load. My internet is pretty good and the rest of devices connected to the internet work perfectly fine. I went and did a research on the web and it seems many people are having this issue with this TV and they also cant be able to watch YouTube or Netflix with the APP provided by the Smart TV without having continues buffering.

    Viera series board issues

Great tv (VIERA TC-P50S30)until yesterday. Watching netflix like normal. Shutdown and went out to get a DSLR camera. Tried to turn on the TV to watch instructional DVD for camera. TV power led blinks 7 times and refuses to come on. A little research finds lots of users running into this issue with VIERA units. Seems to occur starting about a year after purchase. Have to replace 1 - 3 boards (recommend to replace all 3). I'll never get another Panasonic TV.

So I have had this TV for almost four years. I bought it fairly cheaply on Black Friday, but I do expect that it won't break down within four years. I had it fixed 6 months ago as the red light was blinking 14 times....not a good sign. This morning I woke up and it was blinking again....14 times. You would be better served to buy a more expensive TV from a better company. Last repair cost $325...not sure if I'm going to repair it again.

Bought this TV 18 months ago. I turned it on one night and is just shut off and would not restart. I contacted Panasonic help line and their tech's were of no help. I paid $1200.00 for a piece of junk. Only thing that is my fault is that I did not purchase Best Buys overpriced warranty. TVs should last longer than a year and a half. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM.

We bought this TV around 15 months ago and it died already. We paid Best Buy Geek squad a nice $150 to tell us that - adding insult to injury. In addition, when it did work for the brief 1 month period, I thought the picture quality was just ok. Our Sony LED TV has much better picture quality - and it still works after 4 years!

Bought the Viera Panasonic 50" Plasma and after 17 months it went into a shut down mode after 5 minutes. This seems to be a severe problem with this product after looking at repairs ($ 600.00) plus the $ 140.00 service call, the technician said it would be best to buy a new one. This $ 1,500 purchase was a bust.
