I like it, but I don’t love it.

I have been a fan of La Femme since PTB. I loved that album. It was something new, dark, and fun. Their second album had the same amazing vibe but I can tell that they took risks with their more mature sound, yet lyrically, they stuck to their roots. This third album has a lot of different sounds from their previous two albums, but it’s not my favorite. I miss the theremin sounds, the creepy noises, and the obscure lyrics. I know that bands grow and change sound sometimes, but going from Hypsoline to Paradigmes, I feel like they are going for a broader audience, perhaps. I like some of the tracks on this record, and the visuals are great as usual, but as far as the feel of the music and lyrics, it didn’t give me that amazing “I’m about to enter a haunted house and be carried away by magic” feel that the first album gave me. Favorite tracks: La Sang De Mon Prochain, Fou*** Le Bor***, Disconnexion, Foreigner, and Le Jardin.
