movies like this only come out once every few years! this movie is all about story, absolutely no action. the characters on this are just a little flat but theyre still engaging! each one holds their purpose and they carry it nicely throughout the movie. i saw the movie going two diffrent ways, but in the end i was wrong about both of them. and i loved more the way in which they went. if you haven't seen this movie yet i HIGHLY recommend picking it up and watching it with the family. i cant speak of this movie enough to people, the directors past works solidified his work for me, therefor i was already looking forward into this project when he announced it in the first place seriously check it out

Fantastic movie. Easy to see why it won Best Picture. All the young pups watch movies in English with closed caption on anyway now (which I don't but, all my 20 somethings do) so, get with the program and read up butter cup. The acting is MORE THAN worth the subtitles. Also, the Blu Ray transfer is great, both sound and vision. Very little extras but, for the most part I could care less about that, that will come. If you're a super fan of the film the 4K might be worth a rebuy but, this is a super transfer that looked great on my Sony OLED. The whole family was immersed and all came out with big thumbs up. A great movie to watch trapped in your house like we all currently are!

Went into this movie blind, heard good things about it before hand. After watching it and the extra and the bluray, i am happy i did not watch any trailers. Just a great story and a hell of a ride. Was hoping for a different outcome, but overall i am happy. Kinda sucks there is no 4k physical release. I will say that vudu has a 4k version if you got the tv for it. I can't wait to watch more movies from this director.

This is a fantastic movie. Korean movies have a different style than Western flicks and it's immediately apparent when watching this one. This has some intense moments with some great Korean humor with some excellent directing. It deserves all the awards it got (although movie awards are a total waste of time). All of the characters were amazing and the plot was unique and original (at least to me). The family, down on their luck, work together to con their way into a comfortable life, but things get a little bit complicated. Definitely worth picking up, especially in 4k.

I heard a lot about the movie and waited for it to come out on Blu-ray. It's a really well done movie; I can see why it won the Academy Award for Best Picture. I was concerned that it was going to turn into some zombie horror movie because of what I'd heard about the movie, but it wasn't. Violence wasn't gratuitous. Not a movie for kids to watch, though. There is a point where the pressure builds and builds and one starts to wonder where the movie will go, and it throws you for a loop. What's the phrase: "Never saw that coming!" It is a foreign film; you'll need to be OK with reading subtitles.

This movie was deserving of the accolades it received. All elements are strong, from writing to acting to cinematography. It makes you think all the way through with twists and buildup of tension. The best horror/suspense films of the last few years have been ones with a heavy dose of social commentary. This film is almost impossible to characterize. It probably is too bad it is subtitled since it probably kept people out of the theaters. It is well worth the exercise in literacy. The house and scenery becomes an important character that molds your view of this unreal reality.

This is one of the great films in any decade. I watched it once and bought it two days later. It was that good, and it was on sale. If you truly love cinema you should add this to your “I own the media” collection. The acting, plot, writing, score, design, lighting and cinematography were worthy of the nominations and wins if got. The director does what was done in the 1944 movie “Lifeboat”. (The review thinks both directors names are inappropriate words and wouldn’t let me include them) If you don’t like subtitles get over it, you’re missing a lot of great cinema.

Parasite is a movie that takes place within the home of a family whom is pretty well known. It all starts with a tutor position becoming available after something comes up. After a while of how well the new tutor performs, the story from there just continues to deliver suspense as the family goes about their day to day activities. This in turn, allows for other job opportunities to become available over time. But how, you may ask? That's what makes this movie quite enjoyable!

    Who's Really The PARASITE?

When I first saw PARASITE in a once upon a time movie theater, I thought it was a great film and would probably win the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film (it did), but to be the first film to walk away with additional awards of Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Film overall, was probably a bit too much (over such others as 1917 and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood). If you're a film buff, this is a film you need to watch, study and perhaps add to your collection.

This is by far possibly the best movie of the decade, I cannot recommend it enough. Please do not let the subtitles deter you, this is 100% a must watch and deserves your undivided attention. From the cinematography, acting, dialogue, etc, this movie is perfection in every possible way. I cannot recommend it enough, you won't be disappointed if you give it a watch. Please do not watch any trailers either because this movie has a huge surprise that I feel many of the trailers alluded to, too much.

A Masterpiece Even if it Didn't Win at the Oscars

Parasite is a masterpiece on all levels. Narratively, there are very little to no loose ends. The movie is also cinematic from its opening sequence all the way to the credits. The acting is top notch and it genuinely deserves every award it won at the Oscars. If you can access to the 4K experience, I highly recommend it. Warning this movie is subtitled. It's not for everybody but most people who can get onboard with this will be rewarded with a cinematic masterpiece which rarely happens.

I didn't know what to expect going into this movie other than I knew I'd be reading subtitles and that it won a bunch of awards. Now that I've seen it, I absolutely understand why it won the awards it did. I don't want to spoil it but I will if I continue typing so I'll just say, it looks great in 4K, the story is incredibly well done and the execution of the director is top notch. Highly Recommend picking up a Parasite.

I went into the 2020 Oscars expecting a Best Pic win for 1917, and was surprised like many others when Parasite stole the show. My first viewing was so good I immediately showed it to my roommate the next night. A stellar blend of thriller, horror, comedy and messages (classism standing out the strongest) with subtitled conversation that was extremely easy to follow. So get over your discomfort with reading and give it a whirl, you won't regret it

Great academy award winning film with tough to watch ending. Keeps you guessing along the way. It’s a modern have vs have not story that takes place in Korea but could have taken place anywhere else in the world and remained just as relevant. I have seen both the bluray and 4K version. A few differences in color grading from the Blu-ray version but otherwise well done . Recommended if on sale.

While Parasite's initial home video release did not include a 4K copy, I'm so glad I waited for this to come out. The picture looks great, and the movie itself is incredible. I wish there were more special features, but it is what it is. If you already bought the blu-ray, I'm sure if it's truly worth the upgrade. But, if you have yet to buy the movie, then this is definitely worth it, especially with the current Black Friday price.

I'd been eager to see this after reading and hearing lots of amazing things about it. It absolutely lives up to the hype. There are twists you never see coming and it's quite funny. Some people may not want to watch since it's in Korean and subtitled, but don't use that an excuse. It's absolutely worth it.

As a bluray release of Parasite this is perfectly fine and of course Parasite is a great movie. I'm a little perturbed that since I've bought this there has been both a 4K release and a Criterion bluray release. If you want to own Parasite I'd suggest one of those versions but as a product I can't complain about this I can just slap myself on the forehead about buying this right away instead of waiting for superior releases.

    A remarkably novel movie

There's comedy in the first half which evolves into something much darker. There's social commentary about economic classes. There's the big issue of family solidarity. There's the morality of working hard but cheating to do it. There are fantasies of a better life clashing with reality. This movie weaves all these themes together into something new and convincing, and does it despite its reliance on subtitles for this movie set in South Korea.

I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. It was funny, intriguing, and very suspenseful towards the end. It does a good job at exploring each character and showing the viewers parts of their personality, desires, and pain. It has themes of living in poverty compared to living wealthy. It's serious messages are delivered in a very effective way while also maintaining dark humor that lands very well.
