    Great Beginner Video Quadcopter

The Bebop is a great aerial video quadcopter for its price point. It has excellent image stabilization and the image quality is far better than less expensive quadcopters that offer video capabilities. The video quality is not as great as a CGO2 (which you will find with the Yuneec or Blade 350QX3), or using a Hero 4 on a good gimbal. However, those devices are significantly more. This Bebop device also can be used indoors (and I highly recommend using the bumpers that come with it for indoors). An Android or iPhone (or their tablets) work as the controller and you get first person review. I would have given this device higher marks but for the smartphone controls. The controls are nice but I have experienced on quite a few occasions losing signal between my mobile device and Bebop. So you need to keep the device within a decent range.

I purchased this for my kids (teenagers) and they have had a great time with it. There is a small learning curve with it but that is short lived. I have flown the big brother to this, the AR Drone also. The best part about this is that is has smaller or tighter limits on how high it can fly and how far out so you don’t lose sight of it and get out of hand and then have to get it repaired or have to order parts. It is also extremely durable as it has hit a few trees already. They have improved the motor cut out so that if it does (and it will) come into contact with small limbs and or leaves it will not just shut down and fall out of the air. A Great entry level drone!

I saw plenty of unhappiness in previous reviews and I guess that is a question of expectations. I think that the reviews should be based on a product description done by the seller and the proper use of a purchaser who read the instructions (is true that in this case they are in the web and not in the box but who ever read any electronic product printed book of instructions!). I have what I purchased, I nice toy to play outside that allows me to record my hours of game. The use is easy (after reading comments in the forum and watching the videos). It's probably true that the company put the product in the market for Christmas time (are they the only ones!) with few glitches but it's true that they are working of improving the software and it's true that when I buy versions 1 I know my risk.

This is a great drone for a first generation product! There are some kinks that still need to be workedout. For example every now and then it has a tendency to drift off even when no buttons are being pressed and there was no movement or change in direction of the phone. Also, one of the batteries has already stopped working and I couldn't have charged it more than 5 times. When I reached out to parrot about the issues they agreed to fix it. But first I have to pay to get the battery shipped to them and then they will send me a replacement. If you are considering making this purchase for a kid or for adult hobbies, I would recommend it, but if you looking to make the purchase to use for a business such as wedding videography to get aerial shots of the venue, I would recommend waiting for an updated model or going for a higher end drone.

The drone is pretty cool, a little hard to control. Range isn't near what they say. Unless you buy the add on controller. All in all it's fun to play with but I don't think I'd pay $499+tax again for it that's for sure.

This is a wonderful product and does exactly as it states on the box. Excellent picture quality and easy to fly right from the start. Directions are clear and easy to follow. One thing I would like to see is the availability of the extras listed on the box.

I've owned the Bebop drone for over a month and have not had any issues. The Drone is very stable and is easy to fly. The 1080p video is clear and looks great as does the still shots. I was hoping for a little bit better battery life, but overall the Drone is a blast to fly and pretty much indestructible.

No matter if are a new drone pilot or an experienced quad copter pilot the Bebop is a great addition and a thrill to fly. It's not as fast as some out there and the promised flightControler is still missing but it's just plain fun. I ran into another drone pilot in the park and he was amazed by how slick and easy it was to use.

I had to buy 5 Bebops to get 1 that was working. The issues from the 4 I have returned were recognized by Parrot. The issues were mainly erratic flying (crashing against the ceiling). I was very very pleased that I bought them at Best Buy!! They took the faulty Bebops back until I had a good one. Thank you BestBuy. The one I have now needs more updates from Parrot before it will fly so as it should. Aside from that: it is a great product. I would recommend this product to a friend with a serious warning and disclaimer. For the disclaimer > :-)

I really love this drone, it's fun, fast, and capable. There are some software glitches and sometimes I momentarily lose control but these can be improved in time. Overall I really recommend this for people that want a capable quality drone to play with.

For $500 you get pretty good prone with the 14 megapixel camera and acceptable software. It's very easy to fly even if it's your first time. The only bad experience I had was that I lost it, it randomly flew away. But luckily the company sent me a new one .

Actually I have bought and returned 3 units. The first one was bought on Black Friday, and the Photo mode for high def pictures was not working. The second unit had a charger battery problem for which the LEDS of the charger were not working correctly, and the third unit also experienced the same dilemma. Still all 3 units did fly, and it is an awesome drone... but the inherent problem with it is that it relies on WIFI signals for the drones controls... and wifi is not a very solid connection for RC controls. A few times I lost control of my drone briefly. At that point I realized that to use the drone safely and reliably, I would need to buy the sky controller (which was not available in the US). Not to mention, that by the time I purchased the controller, I would be at the same expenditure level of a DJi phantom 2 vision... which is a solid and more proven drone solution.

but... there is a lot to learn to use and if using in an area with a lot of wifi signals it seems to drop the signal and while it will just hover (my experience I've heard that some have been lost because of this) if you don't get the signal back you will have to run out the battery. It is a tough drone and for the price it is a good starter drone. Some people will attack a tracking chip so the can find because the last known location will get you close but can be off. Over all it is a good buy.

Word of caution....Battery lasts about 15mins with full usage. At first its a little bit difficult with the controls but you get the hang of it. Really cool with the app(USED A TABLET) for the controls. Range is decent and height is pretty good too. I was flying it over the electrical cables just soo you can get an idea. If you have the money then go for it...

This is the second Bobop drone I have lost! I have the sky controller so it's hard for me to justify not having a drone to go with it. However, this is really becoming an expensive hobby! I lost the first one because I accidentally hit the emergency land bottom. It dropped like a brick straight into the canal behind my house. I live on North Padre Island. In my opinion the emergency land button should be designed so it takes more than one simple tap to activate it. My second drone was doing fine until I hit the return home button. It looked like it was beginning to return but suddenly dropped from the sky about 100 yards from me. I've searched high and low with the help of neighbors for it but have not been able to find it. It would be nice if there were some way of homing in on its location. Other than those issues it seems to be a pretty good means of aerial photography/videography. I'd recommend practice and getting used to it in a large open area with no or few obstacles first. Also, I think it's a good idea to put your contact info on it.

Only after purchasing the Bebop and trying it at home did I find out that the problem I ran into has been experienced by LOTS of other people. I was on a simple maiden voyage in the house to watch it hover in place for about 15 seconds. When I told it to land, it suddenly shot up to the ceiling and came crashing down. It turns out that a lot of people have seen a sudden, unexplainable vertical launch of the drone. There are even settings in the drone that tell it how fast to rise, and it doesn't obey those settings when it rockets upwards. Luckily for me, I was indoors. Other people have lost their drone altogether when they experienced this phenomenon in the great outdoors. In my case, I just picked up the pieces after it crashed down onto the floor, reattached the now-bent propellers, and returned the entire thing to Best Buy, explaining what happened. This wasn't a case of user error. I watched all of the YouTube videos, I read the instructions, and I was cautious in what I was doing. I literally just told it to start, waited 15 seconds, and told it to land. That's it. I certainly didn't tell it "accelerate up 10', hit the ceiling, and crash onto the floor". :)

This is a great little drone to take video in daylight with. It does have some bugs to work out and they should put better instructions in the packaging but they do have a full manual online. Be sure to get it before you fly. You can check out some videos on youtube of my drone. Just search yunisden and my channel will come up.
