There was a lot of things I learned from this movie about what happened at the Boston Marathon terrorist attack which many of the news stations didn't cover so I really thought this movie was excellent. Incredible to think that our tax money was paying for the university education of one these terrorists and we still had many government officials denying it was related to terrorism. I know the movie had a lot of different opinions but if you want to get a clear picture of what happened that day you should definitely check this movie out.

I found it very difficult to watch the bombing, to watch what happened to so many people...but the portrayals were so inspiring it brought tears to my eyes. From the strength and courage of all the injured, all the police and FBI, all the nurses and doctors so determined to do their absolute best to insure justice, to be hopeful and strong and not allow terror to win. What happened was truly horrible but the courage and bravery that made Boston Strong was in full display from beginning to end. I loved this movie.

When dealing with 'based on true events' movie (or TV for that matter), there is always going to be some "Hollywooding" up of what happened, in other words they add/change things. I think for the most part that this movie is reasonably accurate in what happened that day and in the days that followed... the use of actual video from cell phones and security cameras helped to bring that feel of authenticity to the movie. Mark Wahlberg did a good job in the lead role, the supporting cast did a pretty good job too.

It told the story in a straight forward manner. One thing with 4K blurays...they are shaper with superior color rendition. However I recommend that you find a 4K scene that contains objects with details in a high contrast situation. Then using your 4K player...not TV controls adjust brightness and contrast...to raise the overall brightness level of the picture without losing sharpness contrast or color. 4K discs are mastered assuming a dimly lit room; so they appear to dark under normal circumstances.

I picked this up using my rewards certificate, didn't expect much not really a fan of movies based on true events, to me they feel like cash grabs, but was I wrong this masterpiece is the best movie purchasing decision I ever made in recent years. Not really fan of movies that are longer than 1 hour and 1/2 attention span isn't there, but this movie was so engaging and never a dull moment I was shocked when the 2+ hours were over just like that.

Intense, Hard to Watch, Yet Compelling

Excellent acting and intense action scenes in this compelling tale of the Boston Marathon bombing of 2013. Hard to watch because you know what is coming. The background of various victims pre-bombing is described which makes it that much more upsetting. Not a recommended film for the squeamish and/or sensitive. The brothers are shown as truly evil with no shred of human empathy and compassion. Thank goodness they never made to New York their next bombing site.

This is a wonderful movie and looks fantastic on UHD. My only complaint is with the language, which is realistic, and that's why may not be likable by many parents in the presence of kids. Also looks like directors are trying to add more drama vs. tense situation. A tense situation in movie need not be dramatic, I mean overacted by the performers. A tense situation could be something which can be felt with no words and no action. It is still a must watch.

The movie is a true Patriot's Day movie with the action and intensity of a fictional work, but the things these officers endured, and the extent of work to catch the terrorists scum is truly incredible. Outside of the action, it shows conflict between government agencies, which is more true than anybody can imagine, and the processes used to find coward killers out of crowds of thousands. The sound of the 4k and ATMOS adds another dimension.

Alum actor Mark Wahlberg is back for another great movie about the Boston Marathon bombings. It is directed by a not well-known director, Peter Berg, who took us on a very emotional ride following the events of the people surrounding the events of the bombings. The script was well written, the cast acting was perfect, and the directing was excellent. I think that everyone should see this movie! Two thumbs up!! BOSTON STRONG!!

Being from Boston, I knew how certain events Played out. What they let the public know of anyway. Knowing these things first hand did not take away from the movie at all. As usual Mike Wahlberg was at his best when he played in this great movie. I think everybody should see Patriots Day. I'll probably watch it 5 or 6 more times two thumbs up !!

I am a big fan of the Director Peter Berg and, of course, Mark Wahlberg. This film was extremely well done. Initially, I did not really want to see the film and the real life incident that the movie depicts was too close to home. However, Berg and Wahlberg drew me in. That being said, the film was extremely well done and tastefully executed. Although Wahlberg's character was an amalgam, it was realistic and well portrayed.

Being a former Bostonian, I was wondering if they would stick to the facts or just build up the drama for shock value. They stuck as close to the facts as was possible. Credit to Mark Wahlberg for keeping it real. Actual footage was used and only added to the horror of what happened. Was painful to relive the events in my hometown, but I came away with even more pride in my fellow Boston citizens. Bravo.

This movie was very very well done. The attention to the facts, the editing, the directing, etc., all worked for me. My eyes were glued to the set the entire time. I also liked how they showed some of the primary characters BEFORE the bombings to help set the stage. I am in awe of the survivors as well as the 4 who never made it home AND the responders who keep us all safe. My hat is off to you all.
