Chess has been a part of my life for over 20 years now so I just had to watch this movie. It is the best chess movie I've seen but that's not saying much, there simply isn't much demand for a movie on chess. But the reason this movie was made isn't because of chess, it's because of FIscher. If Fischer hadn't achieved what he did and if he weren't American this movie would have never happened. If you're hoping for a Fischer documentary you're probably going to be disappointed. This movie gives a few glimpses of young Fischer and quickly moves on to adult Fischer, and ends with a short summary of what his life was like after his achievement. Think of this movie as an introduction to Fischer and why he should be remembered, and if you end up liking this movie you'd probably like watching a documentary on him. The acting was well done, I heard Tobey Maguire tried for years to land this role and it shows, he put out a great performance.

If you like these 2 main actors then you won't be disappointed. I really like chess and the historical story of Bobby Fischer and I would suggest that you at least have a passing interest in those things or you might think the movie is boring.

I remember this as a kid how the East and West would "fight" the Cold War through things like this. And the movie itself is historically accurate. Great movie!

I wasn't sure I wanted to see a movie about chess, but it was super exciting. I watched it till the end. I definitely recommend people to purchase this movie.

As a chess player who grew up in the Bobby Fischer era, I found this a great movie covering the World Champuonship of our only American World Chess Champion.

The movie is based on a true story, about the chess player Bobby Fischer. I enjoyed it... I think most people will enjoy this real life drama too.

GOOD MOVIE GREAT STORYLINE AND ENDING TO MOVIE GOOD ACTORS ENJOYED THE ACTORS IN THE FILM

The first 20 minutes kinda jump around trying to get the viewer caught up to the point where Bobby Fischer is an adult. Unfortunately that 20 minutes is prolly the most interesting part of Bobby Fischers life. After that you get decent acting and an ok story. I would only suggest this for fans of History.

Very good film if you enjoy dramas, no complaints, full of suspense

This movie will grab and not let go. An excellent piece of work.
