I have pretty much tried every headset in the market including $300 dollar headsets and I have to say that this are the best by far. Amazing sound, Super comfortable, great mic and the battery life lasted me 14 hours. Ladies and gentlemen if you are worried about losing signal on the headset it's not going to happen it has excellent range, I pretty much walked my entire apartment without losing signal not even one time. I recommend this headsets to everyone.

I bought these for my boyfriend for his birthday, to be used for those nights he plays Counter Strike online with the guys. While they weren't awful, they weren't the best, either. He loved the "bass boost" audio option, because it made it easy to hear even the smallest of sounds in his first person shooters. We both thought they were comfortable on the ear and that the lights were pretty cool, too. However, they're really quite heavy compared to other headphones (i.e. compared to Razer Kraken and old Sony PS3 headphones). The biggest downfall was the microphone, though, which made it sound like he was speaking through a pillow no matter what settings we used, how he spoke, or what game was being played. We really wanted to love these, but the microphone ended up being a big issue when it came to online gaming communication, and was the only reason we returned them. We ended up getting the Razer Kraken Chroma 7.1 headphones (SKU: 8501069) as a replacement. The Razer Kraken Chroma 7.1's also change color, though they aren't really as sleek, but we both agree that they have better sound and a better microphone. They aren't wireless like this pair of Afterglow's was, but that isn't a deal-breaker for PC gaming use when compared to a headset with a microphone that isn't able to be used. When I get a pair in a few weeks, I might try the lower-end Afterglow Kral's, with a microphone that actually comes out of the headphone, but if those are just as heavy and muffled, I'll end up with the Razer Kraken's for all my PC gaming needs, too.

My First Review Was 5 Stars Until Today.

I posted a review yesterday describing how happy I was with the Afterglow Fener. Today when I went to play the first thing I noticed, the mic would not work anymore and the light would not change color. This is pretty sad considering that the headset are pretty comfortable and has pretty good sound. I think I’m going to do my research before I buy anymore headsets. The reason I give this headset a 2 star is because to me being able to communicate with my friends is important. Good luck to anyone buying this headset.

Both at work and at home I work while listening to music. So I wear a headset for long periods of time during the day. Of course music quality is very important for me, but also whether a headset is physically comfortable or not makes a big difference for me. I needed a new headset so wanted to give this a try. Honestly, it far exceeded my expectations. It feels very comfortable to wear, sound quality is amazing and it looks really good (I got several "cool" comments at work). Another nice feature for me was the set up being as easy as connecting a wireless mouse to a laptop. I will update if anything goes bad in time.

Excellent Headset If You Don't Use The Mic

First let me say that the build quality on this headset is fantastic. The audio quality is also great. The features are on par with other headset within the same range and the LED color range is great too, if that's what you're in to. This headset is 100% COMPLETELY wireless with the PS4, there is NO wire coming from the headset to the controller.
This headset was extremely comfortable, plenty of space for my ears, and the padding was great as well. The headset felt heavy when I unboxed it, but i didn't notice any weight when I put it on so the comfort is a 5 stars. I will note that my husband tried them on and said they felt a little tight so I would like to repeat what I saw in other reviews that they seem to be perfect for smaller heads/smaller ears (ie women).
Now on to the bad...which is the mic. Mic sound quality is okay, my husband (who was downstairs on the other PS4) said I sounded tinny and like I was in a giant room, and there was feedback (he could hear an echo of himself). But that was only when we could get the mic to actually pick up that I was talking, and that was with yelling (which is pointless if you're using a headset to be quiet). The only way we could get the mic to work 100% of the time was when I took the headset off and held it to my mouth, otherwise it would only pick up every few words I said. Sometimes it wouldn't pick up any words at all. So the design of the non-retractable, boomless mic is very poor, especially mixed with noise-cancellation. It literally rendered the mic, and therefore the whole headset, useless for me. Note: I have the Tritton Kunai headset and the mic quality is PERFECT, and I only paid a fraction of what the Afterglow Feners cost.
I am highly disappointed with this headset because I use my headset primarily for playing online with my PS4 so a quality mic is essential for me. Sadly I will be returning the headset today and trying my luck with the Turtle Beach PX4s.

So for all of you gamers out there who are looking for a wireless headset with great sound then this is the headset for you if you also want one with a great mic unfortunately these headsets microphone I would have to rate a 3 out of 10 only for the fact that the mic is on the side of the head and non movable meaning you cant move the mic close to your mouth causing mic sound to sound very low like if you are talking low but other wise great headsets

Ps4 console.
Pro's : Comfort and sound quality
Con's: The microphone was very hesitant while chatting, felt like you had to talk loudly for it to recognize you were talking. Sometimes out took two to three words before people could hear me.
Overall we liked the look and feel but took back for the Turtle Beach 500P which it's mic works perfectly.

Mine was Defective

I was excited at first as the sound quality was good and they were comfortable even with my glasses on. The first issue was everyone had trouble hearing me and I thought, no problem, with the location of the mic maybe I need to turn up the mic volume on the system.
What I could not fix was that whenever connecting to a party I caused an echo that drove everyone else insane and I was asked to fix it or leave multiple times. I contacted the company as this was past Best Buys return by date and I have to pay to ship them out and they will take 2-3 weeks to send a new one out. I guess I will buy the PS4 Gold headset and sell the replacement for these whenever they happen to arrive.
Overall this could be a good headset, but 2-3 weeks is too long to wait for a new one for this type of item. If you do buy them I would recommend the Best Buy extended warranty just in case you wind up with a defective unit.

When it comes to value, these just can't be beat. The quality of the sound is amazing and the build quality is better than most headphones I have used. They are very comfortable to wear and simple to set up and use. The sound is actually better than the sound bar I have on my entertainment center, so I can see myself using them and other PDP products in the future. Highly recommended.

Wonderful sound, awful mic

I didn't quite believe the other reviews that were of poor rating until I did a mic test with my PS4. But let me start with the good things I like about this headset:
Wonderful audio: There is some pretty nice sound coming out of these speakers. It's not top notch but I wasn't expecting much for only $140 (Tax included). Over all the sound was crisp and easy to hear with the volume adjuster conveniently on the left ear cup.
Separated voice and game volumes: This was a pretty neat feature and was a major selling point for me. Being able to balance voice and game volumes is ideal in my opinion as most of my friends have different mics that out put to different sound levels. Being able to adjust the volume was nice.
Well built: This thing seems sort of flimsy when you pick it up by one side or the other but it's actually pretty solid. The design wasn't bad and it doesn't feel like it's going to break in your hands.
Extremely comfortable: It's not a heavy headset which is very nice for me. The ear pads are nice and it covers your ears quite well with not feeling of it trying to pop your head like a pimple.
Cosmetic: The lighting feature is pretty neat IMO but it wasn't a huge selling point for me.
Now to the bad;
The setup: Ok so it is infact a wireless headset but the way it achieves this is weird. It comes with a usb wireless receiver which you think would just automatically take the sound from the PS4 right? nope you have to plug in the (included) optical cable into the back of the PS4 and run it to the receiver. Weird right? I feel like it's just unnecessary chords and things getting in the way. It might be because the PS4 doesn't send sound through it's USB ports like the PS3 does (I don't know for sure if this is the case so don't quote me on it) so this part of the deal is on Sony a bit. I also don't know how Xbox is set up so I'm not going to talk about that. I like a clean setup personally, but if you don't mind it then it probably wont bother you much. It also comes with a 3.5mm chord so you can go into "mobile" mode and connect it to your computer or phone. That's sort of neat but I didn't feel like it was needed.
The Mic: Here is the deal breaker, the all inclusive pain in the *@#. The headset advertises it's mic with a wonderful "noise gate" sort of deal. If you don't know what a noise gate is I suggest you google it. The problem with this feature is that the gate is set too high. I had to practically yell into this thing to get sound to register during a mic test with the PS4. And of course with mediocre noise gates you get a little bit of the audio in the front of your speech cut off because the system has to recognize that there is actual audio incoming in the first place. To top it all off the sound comes through as really echo-y and sounds as if someone put a delay on it where the sound is repeated several times. This is a complete dealbreaker for me. No amount of wonderful audio is going to make up for this. If your friends simply can't understand you talking on chat then what the heck is the point of this headset?
Mic quality is a hard thing to come by and it's a hit or miss kind of deal when you're buying a headset. I took a chance and unfortunately it was a miss. I will be returning this headset tomorrow and getting a different brand.

The sound is great and mic was clear on a Skype call. But after using them for a few hours, they will not charge. I've tried the USB that came with them and several others, and nothing works. I've looked around, and apparently I'm the only one that has had this problem, hoping it's a fluke and the company will be able to fix it. I will change my review if I get the problem resolved.

I bought these headphones 2 weeks ago. I love the audio quality. Also, I liked that they work with both my PC and my PS4. However, 2 days after using them the microphone QUIT WORKING!!! I tried to fix the problem by moving it around and stuff. Nothing worked. I tried multiple recommended fixes from online sources. None of these worked either.
Also, I should note that when I looked this problem up online - It seemed to be a VERY COMMON problem. Do not buy these headphones! I tried to get ahold of PDP (the company that makes afterglow) (MADE IN CHINA BY THE WAY) - and they were no help. They said that I must have treated them poorly and that THEY were not responsible for my "MISUSE" of the headphones. I guess they were meant to be used as a prop. Because THATS ALL THEY'RE GOOD FOR!!! - Thanks a lot PDP - pssshhh

Wow. Do NOT buy this headset. After 2 hours of looking up videos and reading forums I still cannot figure out how to properly work these. My friends simply cannot hear me when I talk, it makes me seem quiet and far away. The only good part is that if you are a loner and want to play by yourself then the game audio is alright but definitely not worth the price

Horrible Humming sound when wireless. Makes it unusable for anything that does not have music to mask the constant high pitch humming. Goes away only if you plug in a 3.5mm.

I wouldn't call myself an audiophile, but when it comes down to headsets I own several top end consumer headsets, as I like to enjoy my games and music with a good quality sound. When I got these I was very impressed as they sounded better then my $400 wireless headset. Great balance between lows, highs, and mids. If you would like to have an exaggerated bass (like some action) simply hit the mode button and they "beat" my very expensive wireless headsets. Kudos to PDP for providing such quality product at this price range.
