It works fine. My only issue is that the remote and buttons are smaller than what I'm used to.

As I said above easier than using a controller, but I think the PS3 remote was easier to use.

I picked this up for my PS4 so I could stop using my controller for the fact that I like to watch movies a lot and the constant turning it on to select the menu, pick the function I want, then close it again was sometimes a hassle. Might seem strange but I do like having everything flow smoothly for me so this remote definitely gets the job done and it stays on for a good while like 20-30min before you have to turn it on again. you can tell when its on when the upper right corner of the remote flashes red when you push a button on it. I don't use the full feature of it like tv stuff but im sure it works just as well. I have other remotes for my soundbar/TV so the universal part of this, I don't use it nor have I ever had a problem with connectivity issues regarding universal features such as TV spazzing out while using this remote for PS4. The quality feels good and smooth w/ an extremely soft textured feel (feels smooth), the buttons themselves are soft rubber but firm and no receiver is needed for this. you turn it on and connect it to the PS4 via the controller screen under settings. I forgot exactly how since its been awhile since I bought this but I wanted to try it out a couple "months" (2 years; I forgot) and make a good review on what the pros and cons were. I have to say that there really is no cons to this. It does what its supposed to, it helps me do the functions I want to by having instant access to pause/play/fast forward etc functions without having to turn on the controller. Works great!

PS3 control worked perfectly. This one drops connection after 15 minutes of no use. Watching a movie for 20 mins., get a call, need to pause. Well, reconnect with the PS button first. It's not made by Sony, so I'm hoping they make a better one. Button placements are not great either. But still maybe better than using a standard controller.

This remote works great but its tricky getting multiple items connected. Works well with PS4.

I love this item. I no longer have to use the controller. So much handier and easier to use.

The PS4 Universal Media Remote serves its purpose for basic control. When watching videos for a long time, the control seems to go in sleep mode to save battery. If you have a PS4, it's a cheap alternative to use your PS4 as a media center.

Bought this to replace my stock PS4 controller that wouldn't charge and while it was difficult to get setup with a barely functioning main controller, now that it is it works great and does what I need it to.

I was a little upset that Sony did not manufacture this remote themselves but it works great. I was able to sync it easily with my PS4, my TV and soundbar which eliminated 2 remotes for me. Well worth the $30.

Finally a good remote for the ps4, and it can control my audio system and projector!

I bought this so my technology challenged father-in-law could operate the PS4 to watch Netflix. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because some apps don't work with the remote like HuluPlus. I'm sure HuluPlus will catch up soon enough :)

We purchased this remote so we could use our PS4 Pro as a dvd player as well. The speed and upscaling ability of the PS4 exceeded our standalone. So in doing so when pairing it was pretty finicky and the first one I purchased did not work so needed to get another. The design is like that of old school box remotes that doesn't feelcas comfortable in the hand as say the Samsung new remotes or the LG magic remotes. It does its job though. I did learn while pairing the Samsung Q series remotes also work just fine to control the PS4 so we have been using that more than this due to the awkward size and shape.

We use the ps4 for so much more than a gaming console... very happy to have an actual remote to operate apps and movies! It also has learning capabilities to operate other media devices yay!!

Better than the previous version PS3 remote. Thinner, easier to use & now I can finally watch my movies on the ps4 without having to use the gamer contol.

I would recommend this remote. It works great! You just simply sync the Bluetooth and your done. Easy! You can also control your tv with it so you don't have a bunch of remotes to switch back and fourth.

Nobody has to guess what buttons do what when you use an actual remote vs the gaming system controller. Plain as day what buttons you need to press. Works like all remotes. Great purchase

Works well for media on the PS4, the added universal remote quality is passable.
