I bought a Galaxy Gear 2 watch and returned it for this. That says a lot right there but I will elaborate on why. The Gear 2 was 300 as opposed to this watch which was 150. On top of that. The display is always on as opposed to the gear where you need to hit a button to show the display. The battery life is incredibly good considering the watch is always on. The batter life can easily get 7+ days and I am not exaggerating. I have done it multiple times. The Gear 2 has a 3-5 day battery life if you are lucky. Also on this you can get new watch faces and tons of apps where on a Gear 2 can't get as many apps. Believe me I have absolutely nothing against Samsung, I have a Galaxy S 3, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and a lot of other Samsung devices. All I am saying is that this is the absolute best smart watch out now and breaking the bank doesn't always buy the best product.

I purchased my Pebble on July 2 and it arrived in perfect condition on July 5. I've had no screen issues. Bluetooth stays connected on iOS 7 beta 2. Notifications come through as expected. Battery life is terrific. Basically, I've had exactly zero issues. I would definitely recommend the Pebble to a friend or two... everyone I've showed it to has been super impressed!

Going on my first week with the Pebble. I will break up the review so it's easier to follow and will update if anything changes for the better or worse. Overall: It's a great smartwatch! I showed it to some of my geeky friends who criticized it for not doing more, but you have to understand what you're buying. I've been keeping up with this phone for about a year so I knew what I was getting. Features: First of all, this is a smart watch, not a smartphone replacement. It does the 'watch' job beautifully, with customizable watch faces (switching between watchfaces is as easy as pushing a button). Bluetooth connectivity is easy to setup, and I usually have had no problems keeping it connected to my phone. Waterproof (tested in the shower so far). Screen is easy to see, if it's too dark (at night), a shake of your arm will temporarily turn on the back light. Currently use of the accelerometer and magnetometer is limited until the full SDK library/functionality is made available, and I'm looking forward to that. Notifications on your wrist is awesome (you can choose which apps to get notifications for with 'pebble notify'). Design: I got the black version from Best Buy (wife did as well). It's pretty nice looking, not too big on our wrists (maybe a bit big for my wife, but not enough for her to care). There are good screen protectors available online, so we installed those (already cut to the shape of the watch) before we tested the manufacturer's claim of "scratch resistant lens". It's very lightweight, which is a watch requirement for me. My wife changed the watch band on her watch while we were at Target with no issues. Buttons are initially hard to push, but once you break them in they work fine. Battery: Only one week with it, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Initially I only charged it for 15 minutes out of the box before I decided I had to play with it. It came partially charged from the factory, and the 15 minutes extra made the battery go for ~2 days. I then full charged and I'm going on day 6 without a charge. No noticeable changes on my phone's battery either for keeping the bluetooth on at all times (HTC One X, jelly bean). Apps: There are several cool apps (cooler ones to come once programmers can use the accelerometers). I used the watchface generator online (very easy to use) to create my own watchface with my university logo (great for bragging at work). It comes built in with an alarm, which I use, I also added on Glance (shows a count of unread SMS, email, missed calls, current weather), a monthly view calendar, a stopwatch (not sure why it wasn't built in), pebble dialer (for enhanced call notification, accept/dismiss), and pebble tasker (read more below). It does also come built in with a music control app that works with several apps on your phone (pandora, google play music, etc), allowing you to skip, go back, pause/play. We also used runkeeper and it displayed the activity information on our watch automatically (pace, distance, time) without us having to look at the phone on our armband while jogging or puling the phone out of our wet-bag when we went kayaking. Other apps are out there, just look it up, but keep in mind that there is a limit of how many apps you can store on the watch at one time so choose wisely (built in ones + 8 downloadable? can't remember exactly). Automation via Pebble Tasker: Some of the things I've been able to do with my watch via pebble tasker (and Tasker on the android side): 1. Push a button to send myself an e-mail at work with current time and date when I walk in the gate. 2. Push a button to request my phone to read the last text message on speakerphone (or bluetooth headset/car speakers) mainly for when I'm driving. 3. Push a button to request a more detailed weather forecast for my current location to be sent to my watch 4. Push a button to help find my phone by changing the phone ringer volume and playing an alarm. 5. [Use your creativity for what you want/need.....]

Since I've gotten my Pebble, I've come to realize how much time I spent previously just pulling my phone out of my pocket to check what it was buzzing about. The Pebble makes that unnecessary. In fact, I've turned off the ringtone and the buzzer on my phone altogether; all of my alerts now buzz on my wrist, where with a discreet glance I can instantly differentiate between an urgent message and another uninteresting email solicitation. If my phone rings during a meeting, nobody knows but me; and a glance at my wrist will tell me if I need to excuse myself to take the call, or hit a button to send it to voicemail. The Pebble isn't for everyone. If your phone buzzes less than once or twice a day, you may not see the point. But if you like being connected, like me, it really is a godsend. Beyond the notifications-on-the-wrist thing, this is just a fun watch to wear. There are hundreds of available watchfaces to choose from, and more being added daily; and you can easily design your own with or without a technical background. It's not fine jewelry, of course; it's obviously made of plastic, but I think it's elegant in its simplicity. And it's easy to class up the looks by adding a metal watchband and a "metallic" laser-cut skin, both available from a third-party company.

Had this watch now for 2 months and I'm still glad I purchased it. Set-up was easy on my Iphone 5. Notifications and calls work perfectly. Although, at times there is a glitch and you may need to re-sync with the Pebble. I did also try this watch with an Android phone (HTC One) and I would say it's a better experience with the Android phones. Battery life is 2 days but I'm assuming it's due to the number of notifications/calls that come through the Pebble. This technology is not for all, if you want it to work perfectly wait 2-3 years as the technology improves.

I backed this watch on Kickstarter and got it back in march. This watch has come a long way since it was first released to us backers. It's been such an awesome watch too. I can read my texts (and reply to them with the help of other pebble apps), scan my incoming phone calls, read emails (at least the first half to get an idea of what it is), change my watch faces, mute my phone, change music tracks, track my running, and so much more. I swear there are Newer things that you can do with this watch ever month. There are lots of apps in the Google Play store that give it more functionality as well. Granted I only paid $99 for mine, but I wouldn't mind putting down $150 for it because it's just so useful. The only downside I noticed was that it scratched a bit easy. I accidentally scuffed the side of mine up a bit because i ran my arm into a wall. Other than that it's great. Plus it's pretty much waterproof! Now I haven't actually dunked it in water, but water sure has gotten on it and nothing has happened to it. I encourage you to pick this up if you have the extra cash.

I love this watch. I did swap out the band which was very easy to do,because the one that came with it was too rubbery. I have read reviews about some notifications not working sometimes so people have returned theirs. Have you ever sent a text or email and been told the receiver never got it. Or someone sent you a text you never got. That is the way of technology and it is getting better ALL the time. I am getting my notifications except once or twice it didn't come through or I saw the indicator but never felt the vibration. This happens on your phone too. For the most part it works great. I saw where someone had a hard time reading the screen. It is really great outside. Sometimes in lower light inside it is as difficult to read as my invicta watch but with the pebble I just need to shake my wrist and the backlight comes on so I can see it fine. I can check the time even in bed with no problem. Several apps in the app store. I am using glance which shows time, date, weather,and all call, text and email notifications on the screen at one time. I drive for a living so everything is right there to tell me if I need to pull over and return a call or something. There is a glitch every now and then but that is true of my cell phone too. I say, get this watch!!!

I have had my Pebble since February 2013. It is probably the best investment I have made in technology so far. This watch has changed my daily routine. I used to pull out my phone hundreds of times a day. I may have missed an alarm because the speaker was muffled while in my pocket, or I thought I felt a vibration but it was only a ghost vibe. Now, I can keep the phone on silent when in a meeting, but the watch will vibrate and show me what my next appointment is, or if someone is calling me and if I need to take it or can dismiss the call. This is also a blessing while driving since I can see my watch much more quickly (and easily) than trying to take a glance at the phone's screen. The Pebble manufacturers along with the Pebble forum members around the world constantly develop newer and more attractive watchfaces and apps to utilize on the watch. I can control my music being played. I can control Tasker (an app to do certain tasks at certain physical locations or at certain times) through the Pebble. I can respond to calls with SMS messages while I am driving or in a meeting. I also get the latest weather information, missed SMS and phone calls along with the hour minutes and seconds all on the watchface of my choice. I also push notes and reminders to my Pebble watch so that when I am near the supermarket I don't forget to pick up the milk. It is only going to get better. Being able to purchase the watch through Best Buy is a major convenience in my book. I am thinking of getting a couple as gifts for my relatives. The price is that good in my opinion.

It works good for what it does. It can be laggy at times and there is a new color version coming soon, but if you want to save some money go for this one. They are still updating it.

Had it been $300 I would have returned it but for $150, I like it. I don't understand people who criticize the aesthetics. It is cool looking to me and looks of good build quality. If you sit through lots of meetings, this thing is essential. I like it though it doesn't do too much but what it does do it does well. Sure when the Apple watch comes out with SIRI baked in, I'll discard the Pebble but for right now, I am quite pleased.

I had the Metawatch before. I found it useful but it had very few apps and poor band. I got the Pebble without knowing much about it. To my surprise I discovered had tons of apps in their store and the ones I loaded all worked great including the map that uses gps which I did pay couple bucks I think. The battery lasts long time. Charging is easier than Metawatch. The watch band is more comfortable and watch is waterproof so can take swimming. Resolution is good for a watch like this. Even had an astronomy star guide app. The chess program even works good.

I've had my Pebble Smart Watch Since mid February and I haven't taken it off since then. I absolutely love it. Controlling my music, getting an overview of messages right on my wrist avoids a lot of unnecessary "phone out of pocket" situations. I've found a couple of great apps that I can't live without. I was fortunate enough to have been a "Kickstarter" backer and have had this smartwatch since February of 2013. It has a lot of potential with embedded technology that has not been enabled yet but will be with future firmware upgrades and application integration. I love the ability of of getting text and email notifications right on my wrist without me having to pull out my phone to look to see if important. The same goes for recieving phone notification and the ability to accept or decline a incoming phonecall. Another great feature is the ability to change watch faces and even customize. There is a watchface website where the community contributes to new faces and apps. One final plus about the watch is that I am able to control my music playback via bluetooth on the watch as weel. Makes it easy to change songs, etc while driving. I do recommend a screen protector.

Great smart watch! It's waterproof which is great and has battery life that lasts over a week. Works with any smart phone. You can customize it with any standard 22mm watch band.

It does what it does very well...and does not try to be something it shouldn't be. I've actually written a few test apps for it...very easy to do...and I can see where this is going to be a must-have for folks (like myself) that gave up their watch when they got an iPhone. Now I can see who is calling (and answer/ignore from the watch), texting or calendar appointments without having to remove my iPhone from my pocket. Also shows the weather if you load one of the many apps available. The watch is very nicely designed, and it's really more of an extension of my iPhone than just a watch. Also, it's water resistant to 150 feet so no worries about sports and such. Oh, and it tells the time as well!!!

I am really enjoying the Pebble because it is not replacing my smartphone. It's nice to get notifications and just take a quick look on your watch. The pairing and managing of apps is really simple. The batter life lasts between 5-7 days.

I picked up the Pebble at my local Best Buy 4 days ago and so far so good. No technical issues that have been reported here. I'm using the iPhone with iOS 7 beta 3. All notifications work fine (e-mail, sms, phone calls etc). Pairing the watch with the iPhone was a breeze and I was up and running quickly. After a exploring for a few minutes, my first impression was "That's it?". At first it seems like there is nothing much to do with this watch. When I got home however and started exploring the different web sites that contain watch faces and apps, everything became clear. There are tons of things out there to load up on the watch. The pebble forums are a great place to start. Go there first to start exploring. Over the past few days I have been discovering the usefullness of the pebble. My phone pretty much stays in silent mode most of the day. The pebble vibrates whenever I get notified of something so there really is no use for the sound on my phone. Great for not bothering the people around me. In daylight and when under bright lights, the display is very clear and easy to read. In the dark, the backlight is perfectly fine for seeing the display. To save battery life, I turn my pebble off at night (I don't wear a watch at night anyway) and do not have the "shake to light" feature on. Seems like a waste of battery since I'm shaking my wrist all the time. When I receive a phone call, it does give me caller ID (name and number). Others have reported here that they only see number only. For some reason I don't have that issue (iOS 7 maybe?). Overall, I like the watch. Not sure it's worth $150. Maybe $99 would be a better price tag but no big deal I guess. I know this is the first generation of these watches but a color screen would be a next logical step. It really needs it. The B/W screen feels outdated. I recommend picking up the pebble watch if you have the funds and are willing the play around with what is probably the future of watches or even mobile phones for that matter.

I purchased my Pebble via the Kickstarter campaign (note: some features may have changed since then, but I have not seen nor heard any evidence of this) and thought it was a cool watch. I have worn it almost daily for about a year and here are some observations: The Good: - The watch is stylish, people comment on how cool it is regularly. - Apps are great- Sbux app allows you to go to Starbucks and scan your watch instead of your gift card or gold card. This is impressive and reduces pocket clutter. Another app that I like is called Morpheus- it tracks sleep patterns using the accelerometer and tells you the amount of different types of sleep you got based on your movement. It will also allow you to set a wake up range so that you are not in deep sleep when your alarm goes off. There are a ton more apps and more every day that help make life easier in little ways. - Handy alarm. I set an alarm often for a reminder and it is subtle as it only vibrates your arm. This way my wife does not stir when I wake for work. - Never miss a text or call - this watch lets you know when texts, emails (if desired) and calls are coming in. I often will answer the call when the phone is still in my pocket, allowing me time to get it out or go somewhere quiet enough to talk. Also handy when hands are wet, or you don't wish to miss the call. Reading texts is helpful and aside from not being able to reply to them, it can be a subtle and useful tool during meetings or other places where it would be inappropriate to bring out a phone. - Control music on a run or while driving. I can have the phone in my pocket and control the tunes without dragging my phone out. This is great when skiing and gloves have to come off and on to do it otherwise. - Flashlight: with a shake of the wrist, the backlight comes on and can help find keys, see items on the floor at night or check on the baby sleeping with a soft and gentle light. Automatically dims after a configurable amount of time. - Weather apps- always know the time, temperature and forecast on your wrist. Very useful (chews up battery life). - Golf GPS- this one is useful to know the distance to the hole you're playing. Load up the courses on your phone and sync with the watch. Requires connectivity to the phone (very heavy on the battery) The Bad - BATTERY LIFE stinks for both the phone and the watch. I often go on business trips for multiple days and often need to have brought my charger. This is quite possibly the worst part of the watch as many times you end up disabling features to lengthen battery life. But without those features (i.e. bluetooth) it is really just a watch. - Scratches easily. I am admittedly a bit tough on a watch, but not so much that the numbers are hard to read. This watch claims scratch resistance, but be warned- you can't use it in everyday life without some damage. It is much less resistant than most. - Cheap band. The silicone band is simple and not very exciting, but already after almost a year, it has cracked at the line where the tail end comes out of the buckle. I guess it dries out over time. - Faulty watch band pin keeper. The little holes where the watch pin is held and enters into the watch is only cheap plastic. With a slight pull, you can pull the pin easily out of the watch, which then falls to the ground. I was putting on a coat once, and the watch caught my sleeve and the watch fell to the floor because the plastic was misshapen. Once it happens the first time, beware- it will happen again. - Frequent disconnects from phone. This happens a LOT and is in need of some serious attention by the developers. You cannot really count on a steady connection to the phone, so it should never be used for really important tasks- you just cannot depend on it. When it disconnects, you either have to manually do it, or hope it tries it on its own. This is something they are trying to fix but has been an issue since the beginning. Bottom Line: These watches still have some way to go before they become a mainstay in my world. Battery life of my iPhone5 is HORRIBLE when this is connected (even when new I found myself charging 2x + per day). I might recommend this to a friend, especially one that is tech savvy (for troubleshooting and reconnections) but might advise them to wait for another year when better options are released (Apple and others are entering the game).

After the 15 dollar rebate Best Buy was offering around Christmas time - I paid only $135 for this watch. It is very well made, and it does exactly what it is advertised to do. It recieves text messages and phone calls - and allows me to control my music (iTunes) library... all without taking my phone out of my pocket. Very handy in my line of work where I am not supposed to be using my phone at work! But now I can at least see who is calling/texting and decide if I need to take a "potty break"! I also LOVE the way it works with my RunKeeper app - that was a bonus. Oh, and the watch faces are pretty cool too.

I love this watch. I looked at the assign gear and the I watch and the mito360, they all have one problem battery life and too much to them. The pebble is simple, it works well with my phone, and lasts a week. My only issue? I wish I had waited for the Steel.
