Pela is a cool company, they promote their environmentally friendly cases. They are compostable and they will take your old case and dispose/recycle it for you. Their cases are decent quality but the features you are typically used to with the glass/metal/plastic cases may vary with these. Some initial experience I had was the magsafe ring did not come installed and you had to install it but no instructions were provided. I did it incorrectly the first time and ruined the case, but customer service was pleasant and I had a new one at no cost in a few days. It gets dirty easily and doesn't clean off like my plastic case. The sides are raised enough to protect your screen without needing a separate glass protector. It's very slim and hardly increases the size of your phone. It gets pretty hot while using the magsafe charger and makes me a little nervous. The magnet is strong enough to hold it onto the charger but not very strong (it reduces you overall regular phone magnet) This set came with a plain case and a free custom case. There were a decent variety of designs to choose. The magnet ring was not self-explanatory to install and if you do it incorrectly it will stick to your phone.

I love this Iphone Case. It is a perfect balance between sturdy and flexible. I feel reliable that my phone is well protected in case I drop it or hit. I have been through companies that say they are concerned about the environment, and PELA has been strongly committed for years on making plant base material cases, but with the same or even better performance as the regular plastic or silicon not friendly environment cases. The case feels great in my hand, it’s not slippery. The access to the buttons and port cutouts are precise and responsive. The finish is clean and it doesn’t look dirty, sweaty or greasy after using it the whole day. PELA is not only committed to environmental sustainability, but with high quality as well. It’s web site also offers Screen protector and as a part of its commitment with the quality they offer to pay the repair of the screen in case it breaks while using the PELA screen protector in conjunction with the PELA case. That says a lot about how serious and reliable they are. The Magsafe Module is a great plus. All serious Case makers should go that route. It will ensure an optimal wireless charging, proper alignment positioning, and faster charging. Thanks to that module the thickness is not compromised giving the case the proper resistance and better protection against drops or scratches. And it includes an activation code where you can order a free second case, whether you can choose over 500 design or make you own case. This is a pretty decent phone case for people who are environmentally conscious (which, let’s face it, should be all of us these days). I got the black case and it isn’t a pure black, it has specs of what look to be some type of brown fibrous material in it. Giving it a very earthy, recycled look. The material itself has a hard rubber feel but satin to the touch. The buttons are kinda hard to press and the case is so thick that the cut out for the new camera button is very difficult to utilize effectively. I have not done a drop test so I cannot say whether it holds up to any real battle damage. Though it does have a decent lip to protect the screen and cameras when laying the phone flat on either side. The MagSafe aspect of the case does lack in strength I believe due to the thickness of the case but it still will charge and stay in position if you have a stand that uses MagSafe tech. I did not receive the second case in time for my review so I can’t speak on the quality of the customization but the choices and options for doing so were varied and many.

Getting a new iPhone, I always have to get a new case - because Apple makes just enough small changes that prevent you using your old case. This bugs me, especially when my old case might be perfectly OK to keep using. Enter Pela, who offer sustainable cases that have less environmental impact. In the box, I had a simple plain Pela iPhone 6 case. It has a nice touch-feel, doesn't feel cheap or recycled like some cases - definitely still feels premium. As a bonus, in the box was a coupon code for a free extra case! Hello Holiday Gifting! Or in our case, when we upgraded both his and her iPhones, we got an extra case! Wohoo! It was easy enough to fit to my iPhone 16 and offers excellent protection. The only caveat was that the Camera Control is notched out, and I think the Pela case makes the Camera Control just a little more difficult to use - not enough to be a big negative, but if you want a iPhone 16 case that protects your Camera Control button, this is not the case for you. If you don't mind the Camera Control button being fully accessible but know it's surrounded by a case lip - it takes a small amount of time to get use to, but then you'll be fine. Overall, as an iPhone 16 case, the Pela case is a solid choice. Good protection, good for the environment, and a bonus case means you can spend a little less to get a lot more.
