The product is actually comprised of two cases, not just one. There’s a voucher to redeem the second case and you can even customize it or select the design out of 500+ ones available from them. You can redeem the second case through Pela’s website and you can choose the basic color of the second case and the design or simply upload a picture to be imprinted on the case. I had no problem ordering the customizable second case for free. Delivery will take about 7-14 days. Pela’s cases are actually made of plants, so it’s really good to know that the cases are actually compostable as they are not made of non-recyclable plastics or silicones. As for the black case, there’s a grain pattern visible on the surface of the case, which actually adds a personality to it. Also, the case feels more solid than a silicone case and I have no doubt in its ability to protect my phone. The phone’s cameras are very well protected and the case works with glass screen guard just fine. Also, magsafe charging works well with the case. I laser engraved the back of the case and it is actually fun and safe to do so as it is made from organic material. The result is fantastic. The only thing that I don’t like is that the left side buttons are all the same so you can’t tell which one is the silent button, and which ones are for volume control. Overall, I think it’s a fantastic product especially considering that the second case is insanely customizable. I have been on a constant search for phone cases that fit the iPhone 16 Pro Max that were felt like quality and did not seem to be weak on the area where the new camera button exists. Surprisingly that little area haas caused some issues even for tried and true brands that almost always knock their designs for each iPhone model out of the park. I had never heard of the Pela brand but was excited to give it a try. Pela's mission seems to be similar to another brand that I like where sustainability seems to be high on their list. I typically prefer hard cases over those that a more flexible so I was a little surprised when I opened the package and discovered that the case was more flexible. It reminds me of a higher quality silicone case but so far doesn't have the tacky feel that some silicone cases tend to have. It also doesn't seem to pick up fingerprints and oils as easily as some cases which is nice and helps keep the matte black look so far. The MagSafe module is a nice touch but I am concerned that it may not stay attached for long as I notice the flexibility of the case makes the module seem loose. Another nice perk is that Pela lets you get a second case. That is a unique selling point that many will love. You do have to order it so using the free case code included in the packaging but you get access to over 500 designs to choose from including custom options. Overall, the case is decent but if you prefer the more snug fit and overall feel of a true hard case you may not like this particular one.

When you buy this case, it comes with a second case. The second case is not inside the box, you get a code and submit it on a website, and they ship you a second case with the design on it. It's pretty neat, and good quality. The picture is nice quality, and feels personalized / tailored because you get to pick the image. The image is only on the cover, cannot really 'design' the edges of the case. I waited to get the second case back before I wrote the review, and I'm glad I did. It was pretty nice to have a case that has a picture of my kids. The material itself is nice, it feels rubbery and protective, it's easy to put on and take off. So it's convenient to swap cases if you so chose to. Those were all the positive. The one big negative was the magnet. On both the first case and the second case, the magnet was simply just not that strong. It works, it charges, it functions. However the strength of the magnet is concerning. After putting on my magsafe wallet on it, I tried different amounts of items in the wallet, regardless of weight, the magsafe wallet just kept falling off. Because of this flaw, I cannot recommend this. Everyone would be at risk of losing their wallet if they were relying on this.

Its such a nice feeling case, and the fact you get another case with purchase of your choice is such a cool feature. I cannot wait until my second case arrives. Totally recommend buying pela

The pela case is a comfortable yet environmentally-friendly case. Pela’s advertisements claim 30% less carbon emissions, 34% less water usage, and 80% waste reduction. As a consumer I find these to be awesome stats and it makes me feel better that I’m contributing less to the pollution plastics produce. The case itself is soft to the touch. I would describe the outside texture of the case to be like paper which is pretty decent for grip. In the case (I have it in a solid black) there are flecks of what looks like an orange color which i assume has to do with the plant material the case is made out of. In terms of the slimness of the case, I’d say it’s pretty standard. It definitely has a noticeable lip on the front of the screen and it appears thicker with the case on. It doesn’t particularly bother me though. Likewise, the camera bump on the back is also surrounded by a protective lip. The only thing I don’t like about this case is the cutout for the new shutter button. Because of the button’s design, the case doesn’t cover the button, which isn’t bad in and of itself, but the button is in a “valley” which makes it difficult to operate the capacitive functions of the button. Designing the second case was easy as uploading a photo and centering on the case. Overall it’s a great case outside of the shutter button. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and environmentally-friendly case.

This is my first phone case from Pela. I was not aware of this company prior to this one but they make compostable phone cases, watch bands, sunglasses and other accessories in an effort to do their part to help the planet by making products that are environmentally friendly and plastic free. This iPhone 16 Pro Max case made by them is decent. It’s not too thick and provides adequate protection for the phone with its raised sides and frame around the camera. This helps to keep the phone’s glass and camera lenses from being in direct contact with surfaces. It is pliable and easy to put on and take off. I do find that the buttons are a bit difficult to press but not too bad. There is a cut out where the new camera control button is which is helpful. It does have a magnet built in to allow for charging via MagSafe chargers. The magnet in this case is not very strong and although it will charge, I have had a difficult time keeping it on a charger that isn’t horizontal. The case will protect your phone while also allowing you to do good for the planet. I recommend trying their phone cases out. I am also looking at a couple of other products to try for some of my other devices.

With so many iPhone cases in the market, it gets really difficult trying to choose the right one. There are so many from wide price ranges and with so many claimed features. At the end of the day, you want to go with what will protect your phone, and with something that will feel comfortable carrying around with you. Well, the Pela phone case is just that. You get the best of both worlds. The Pela phone case is super lightweight, but packs pretty robust protection. With raised edges, and raised protection around the camera lenses, the Pela cover offers great protection from falls and everyday bumps. The case is soft and feels good around your hands. I've had no issues with button function, so that's great. One very important thing for me is that I have to be able to fit a glass screen protector on iPhone, along with the case. Otherwise, it's a no-go for me. Well, I had no issues doing so and everything is working great. Another added bonus is the fact that they include a free second case that you can customize with your own design. The only downside to the case is the price. Aside from that, you get good protection for your iphone.

Protecting my new super expensive phone is important. This thing has to last me at least a few years. I've been trying a handful of cases for my iPhone 16 Pro Max and this one is pretty good so far. Having options is always nice too and the fact that this comes with a redeem code for a second case for free gives you an option for another case or maybe something for your spouse. The flexibility of this case makes it really easy to get on and off. Probably one of the easiest I've had at putting on and taking off. So setup is a breeze. The feel of the case is pretty grippy which I do like in my hands but doesn't make for the most enjoyable experience in and out of my pocket. Not a deal breaker, though. The look of the black case is nice with the plant matter kind of speckled around it. It's really subtle but I like the look. Protection-wise, it feels pretty solid. I don't fear dropping my phone from reasonable heights. The case covers everything but the screen and gives a nice amount of lip around the edges to protect the front without getting in the way of swipe gestures. If I had to pick something that really sets this case back for me, it's the buttons. The case is basically all one piece with the buttons just being raised parts of the case with a small bump on the back for pressing the actual phone button. This makes them extremely hard to press, depending on how you're holding your phone. I found that the times I was most interested in adjusting the volume, I was holding my phone in a way that just made the buttons almost impossible to press. Sometimes I'd have to hold the phone with my other hand just to adjust the volume. It's a shame, and I think this would be my daily case if it has separated buttons that were a lot easier to push. Overall, it's a decent case. You get two for the price of one which is always a nice savings. It seems like it protects the phone pretty well and it looks nice. It's just a shame the buttons are too hard to press. I would recommend the phone if you don't think the physical buttons on your phone are that important and don't get much use. But maybe try and find the case to try out before buying it otherwise.

This is a nice sturdy, black phone case. It fits my iPhone 16 pro max perfectly. A code is given with the black phone case to go on the Pela website and choose another case that is personalized or you can personalize your own. You can design the phone case anyway you like. You can add pictures of your own or upload a drawing. So many ways you can design your own phone case and they have examples if you are having tough time deciding. You can add quotes or a saying or pretty much anything. It is actually a really cool way to make your own personalized case without having to stick things inside your cover because it is all already on the phone case now. I love to put something memorable like a ticket stub or a picture behind my phone case, but now I dont have to. I can upload it and personalize my own phone case to look the way I want the back to look. On top of all of that, the case is sturdy so it can be cute and personalized while still protecting my phone. Its def a win win for everyone. I would def recommend this phone case.

I picked the black case. I was surprised to open to box to see like specks of wood fiber on the case. I thought it would just brush off, but quickly discovered it was the design due to the recycled materials used for this case. I didn't think it was bad, just bit unusual. These specks that are brownish in color sort of give a textured look to the case. The case is fairly flexible but there is a magsafe magnet ring which reduces the flexibility around the middle area. The camera and front have a slight lip to protect these parts from scratching as it elevates the area. The case feels substantial and should give decent protection to the phone. The buttons are properly placed and are not cut outs but rather bumps which are easy to press. The magsafe is not the strongest magnetic connection, but does the job. There is no external part to the magnet, so the back of the case is flat. All in all I like the case, although I wish it has stronger sides and a stronger magnet. One perk which I noticed is it comes with a free 2nd case which is a nice perk.
