We use these for our field technicians to scan information. I have several of them in use and have only had a few break over the last few years. Not a fancy scanner but does the job for small quantities

This very portable scanner is exactly what I was looking for - light, fast and easy to use. Powered via the USB, there are no extra wires, no heavy power supply, and nothing but it and the USB cord. In other words, it really is portable! Just slightly larger than the tube at the center of a roll of paper towels, the DocketPORT fits easily in the suitcase or computer bag, and comes with a nice soft case. Better yet, it works FAST. Setup was a no brainer, and scanning is equally easy. Put the paper in the slot, and with a single click of the mouse and the paper zips through in about 15 seconds. Poof! The image is on your computer, since your single click identified your quality/type choice. No more lost receipts, late expense reports, or time at the hotel front desk getting them to scan a page or two so you can send it back to the office. Done! Pictures? No problem. and the color is consistant. OCR is available, but I will say that might be the only place I think they could have imporoved - but that could just be me. I HIGHLY recommend the DocketPort 467 to ANYONE - and if you are on the road - you HAVE to have this. I only wish I'd bought it long before now!

I bought this so that when I travel, I can scan documents or photos in medical offices without having to utilize their copier. Saves time and paper ! Scans come out great, can save as PDF and email if you need to. It's small so the portability is great (small enough to fit in my laptop bag). It also does not use batteries so it won't go dead on you!

This scanner is great for someone on the road and needs the ability to scan. The use on a Windows computer was very easy to set-up and use. The use on my Mac was a bit more difficult, although once set-up it works great on the Mac as well. I have used this scanner for photos and documents - works great for both. Some high gloss photos slip a bit during the scan, but rescan at a higher resolution (slower speed) and it works fine. For the price, you can not beat this scanner.

Originally I chose this scanner for its size and price (not the cheapest, but less expensive than most). I use it at home to scan photos and postcards. When my first one arrived, I was ecstatic with how fast and easy to use it was compared to my old, old scanner. The scans started out great. However, as the days went on, I started to have to calibrate and clean it more and more frequently as black or white lines began appearing down the length of my scans. It got to the point where I was recalibrating after every scan. When I began getting pixelated red lines on the scans that wouldn't go away no matter how many times I recalibrated, I had to return it. This all occurred during the course of one week and about 200 scans. I am now on my second scanner. I've done about 100 scans over the course of 1 1/2 weeks, and the old problems - black and white lines and frequent recalibration - are starting to pop back up. I'll be returning it within the next few days and purchasing a different type of scanner. I'm generally willing to give a product a second chance to account for any bizarre, infrequent defects, but I draw the line at three.
