    Peppermint Revenge

A qualified 4.5 Stars. The violent beginning is hard to take, but establishes the following movie. I like Jennifer Garner as a kick butt, (anti?) heroine, a bit like her earlier role in “Elektra”, which had mixed reviews. The “Taken” movies come to mind, as to the revenge aspect. So, without spoilers: The story develops in an interesting but single minded way. We get to see Jennifer prepare over time and get revenge on various “bad guys” for the horrible tragedy she experienced. I enjoyed it for the action, a woman turning the tables on bad men, for the action film it is. Not for kids, avoid if one doesn’t like violence. Not an Oscar winner, but enjoyable fun for those who like this kind of movie. For me, anyhow, a “you go girl”, guilty pleasure.

A wife and mother impliments her system of justice

Peppermint portrays a wife and mother who loses her family in a senseless drive by shooting. Then in a cruel twist of fate the system denies her a chance at justice for her family. This movie follows in the same theme as “Death Wish” series starring Charles Bronson. In this movie, Jennifer Garner plays the victim. She takes five years to prepare herself for a mission to bring her system of justice to those that escaped it earlier, including those that corrupted the system against her. Her performance was more than I expected from Jennifer Garner and the production and special effects are excellent. If you enjoyed “Death Wish”, you will really enjoy “Peppermint”.

Before I watched this movie, I had no clue what it was about. Hadn’t heard of it, hadn’t seen the trailer. One of my coworkers recommended it to me when I was stopping at the redbox one night after work. Desperate for something new to watch, I selected it. I personally am not a big fan of Jennifer Garner and I thought, “Peppermint is such an odd title for a movie” so I was a bit hesitant. But let me tell you, this is sincerely one of the best movies I have ever seen. Although the plot may be similar to other movies, this movie stands out from the rest.

    Jane Wick / Sicaria

If John:Jane and nino:nina, then Scicario:Sicaria. The last relationship may not add up semantically as perhaps this movie. Jennifer Garner reprises her action heroine bona-fides (Sydney Bristow in Alias) as she avenges the murders of her daughter and husband by taking out corrupt drug lords, cops, judges and lawyers. The storyline, gun battles and fight scenes are reminiscent of the action we've seen previously in the John Wick and Sicario movies but from a female-centric viewpoint.

I watched this film in the theater and was very impressed with Jennifer Garner's acting and action. It has been sometime since we saw her skills in Electra and she proves that she still has what it takes. The film is a bit exaggerated but it is a fun adventurous ride of butt kicking scenes and a slight nod at more to come. I recommend this for anyone looking for good action.

Jennifer Garner in a fun, Kick-Butt movie with lots of action. Definitely believable but stretches the boundaries of believability just a little. She's not normally seen as an actress who takes butt-kicking roles but she does a great job in this one. Very good story with several good messages, one of which is about the choices we make and their consequences. Is it the job of the police to protect us? NO. Think about it, seriously. If you disagree, consider seriously some alternatives...

Very action packed movie but the lead actress just exudes pain and anger the whole time. You really get sucked into her motivation and it takes several turns you won't expect. At the beginning you might think you know who she'll go after, but I think you'll be surprised half way through and then again a third of the way through. Ending had me in tears cause this is the type of movie that has no version of a happy ending.

This was a "revenge" movie that was fun to watch. Jennifer Garner stars as a woman who sees her family murdered on the orders of a brutal drug dealer. She returns after five years overseas training herself to be an unstoppable weapon. She is ruthless in extracting revenge for her family and making the bad guys suffer. All of it unbelievable, but still very entertaining.

I know this movie got a lot of flack, but I think the problem lies in deep expectations that people have of films nowadays. I went into this thinking it was going to be fun action. Which it was. Did it have plot holes? Absolutely, but what film doesn't these days. Overall, it was good action with a good storyline. Once again, you have to take it for what it is.

This movie rocks! This is what happens to a mom when the system fails you and you take justice into your own hands. You have to root for her. Watch her in action. A little like Columbiana but I thought this one was better. Definitely worth renting or purchase. The movie seems to get better each time I watch it!

Couldn't wait to see this movie. Not many movies out there where the woman gets justice by learning to physically equip herself to get rid of the bad guys. The only fault was its never explained where she gets her training. Does that mean there's a sequel? The acting is good and i would watch again with a friend.

I don't write too many reviews unless their really poor or really good. This one is REALLY good. If I could give this one 10 stars it probably wouldn't be enough. Without giving any extensive details away its the female version of the punisher but I actually liked it better. Love to see a sequel or series.

While the "revenge for killed family" plot has been done many times before (Death Wish, Law Abiding Citizen etc.) the major difference is that this time the one who seeks retribution is a woman. Jennifer Garner does a great job in delivering a believable mother turned vigilante. Terrific action sequences and a twist or two.

I went to the theater to see this when it came out. It's been too long since my girl Jen has been in an action packed kick butt role. It was so good to see her evolve from wife/mother to a warrior. She was definitely off the charts in this movie!! Hope she does more action movies in the near future.

Just from the premise and trailers, I knew this was gonna be a movie right up my alley; a movie I'd have fun watching. But it was better than I hoped! You see people say, "A mother version of Taken." It is most certainly more than that. It carries more emotional weight and is extremely well made!

I always wanted to go see this movie when it originally came out in theaters, but was unable to. It is definitely a must own and add to the collection movie. Wished it went a little more into what happen in her “lost years” before reappearing. Can’t win them all but definitely will be revommending this to friends.
