    Decent But Misses the Mark

This game is a visual novel otome game. An otome is a game that targets the female audience, but of course guys can play them too. Usually it involves playing as a girl and making choices to gain the affection of one of guys and determine your fate. The voice acting is in Japanese of course. In Period Cube there are 5 full routes (guys to romance) and 1 "bonus" route. Overall I would describe this game as "just cute". There are many plot holes that you will have to fill in yourself. The artwork and backgrounds are great. Sprites hair, eyes, and heads, all move. Music is very appropriate. The game system and menus are wonderful. There is a skip to next choice option along with standard skip/fast forward. The side characters are great and many times when the story would depart from your chosen guy, the side characters would steal the show. Really my only complaint is the plot. The writing between the main character and the guys were decent. The main character overall isn't horrible but not great either. This is an otome that will wet your taste buds but won't satisfy you. As long as you don't expect a great story but just want to see cute stuff, great artwork and voice acting you will enjoy this. I do not think that guys will particularly enjoy this game. I do think gamers that play MMOs or multiplayer will enjoy this more with the computer language and player tropes they use (which they define if you are not familiar with terms). Other otomes games that I recommend that guys will like too are Code Realize and Hakuoki. Hakuoki Kyoto Winds is a remake of the original with added routes and scenes but it is split up into two parts. Future games to look forward to are Collar x Malice and Bad Apple Wars.

If you are into hokey cheesy visual novels then this is the game for you. The visual novels buy Otomate are definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. Yes they are incredibly silly and over the top, but I secretly love when they get localized for North America.

This is another good Vita game that I recommend people pick up because this year could be the last year for the Vita software wise considering E3 is coming up.
