Solid Comeback

The fellows in Periphery have released a solid record yet again. While I don't think it tops Periphery II, I think this is a step ahead of the recent Alpha/Omega release. There are moments where the the writing/mix seems confusing, especially regarding vocals. There are quite a few sections where the vocals seems like they would be underpowered compared to the instrumental background. Thanks to a crafty mix, the vocals push ahead clearly, but it makes the experience feel less "organic." There are quite a few good tracks and nice moments, but the album has plenty of spots where it seems that Periphery could have explored more adventurously. The record's certainly solid, but it doesn't take many risks. Overall, I think more time playing with structures, aesthetic changes, etc. would benefit the band for future releases. I'm worried that, at this point, we're getting more of Periphery as usual than groundbreaking material. Some fans aren't upset by that. All of this being said, the album is certainly an enjoyable listen and worth $10 and a few more spins than you give most records.

I cannot begin to tell you how great this new Periphery album is but I'll try! This album continues the progressive djent sound they've been developing over the last 3 albums and EP with heavy and atmospheric at times music that can both be harsh (in a good way) AND melodic. Spencer Sotelo can belt out high notes with such range it's superhuman. Just click buy already as I could ramble on forever about this album!

Periphery are back with the follow up to their amazing double album. This band progresses after every release and is always amazing, harsh screams and clean vocals to be found every where with their signature djent sound. If you loved them before you'll love them now as long as you are into a band growing and moving forward in their sound.

Its a top notch album. I like all their CDs. Not a huge fan of their hardest stuff though.
This is a good mix of groove & hard hitting.
The first 2 songs aren't great. They are just kinda hard for no reason with no groove to make up for it.
But Flat line, Catch Fire and Absolomb are great as is the slower The Way The News Goes.

Periphery never ceases to amaze me. This album has some of their heaviest moments and a lot of their most beautiful moments and it still works so amazingly together! I haven't been able to stop listening to this album since it came out, that's how good it is!

This album rocks. Hard-hitting grooves and aggressive playing makes this album shine. Not to mention the guitars/vocals were produced in their home studios. A perfect continuation of the Periphery music style. They've even brought back some older riffs and turned them into full songs. Would play again.

Once again, periphery releases a phenomenal album. A beyond worthy successor the the dual juggernaut albums. It's both their heaviest album and their most medolic as songs are all the place. Still got the djent thing going on, even if some songs stray from it (in a good way).

This was my first periphery album and I was impressed. If you like metal with progressive tendencies and a mixture of screaming and singing then you can't go wrong with these guys.

I love this album. P2 will always be the best but this is a worthy addition to the Periphery catalogue. Spencer's vocals keep getting better and better!

Periphery has always been one of my all time favorites. I enjoy their heavy side more but they've come a long way in establishing their own style.

Truly a great album, though out of all their music this might be my least favorite cd, it is still a great listen and in my opinion miles ahead of so many other albums released at the same time

At first I was underwhelmed for this to be the follow up to Alpha/Omega. More listener friendly sounds here, but overall I don't think they are swaying from the technical work that makes them great to listen to.

Took me a few cases before I found the one to fit the IPAD 2, its an older unit so nothing new fits. This was perfect, turns an IPAD into a mini laptop. Got this for my son for xmas!

These guys never fail to exceed the high musical standards they set for themselves. This is a rather good album.
