Fun action game game with rpg elements

It's a fun action game, but I would recommend people to play Persona 5 to get more out of the story. This is similar to other Musou game. If you have played Dynasty Warriors/Samurai warriors game, this game should feel very familiar. If knowing entire story is not a priority, I can easily recommend this game for casual single player gaming.

Persona 5 Strikers is a perfect blend of gameplay from the mainline persona series mixed with koei tecmo's warriors series action. This really does just feel like a persona action rpg, not just another musou 1 vs. 1000 game from koei. The story, while much shorter than the original Persona 5, is still very well written and a joy to experience. The new additions to the cast mesh very well with pre-existing characters and don't feel out of place. I highly recommend this game if you're a persona fan.

I know that when you see the Omega Force developer name and the fact that this isn't a traditional RPG may immediately put you off, but you should really give it a try. It carries over many of the elements that make Persona 5 so good: plentiful character interactions, various locales in Japan, and the deep reservoir of collecting and fusing of Personas. While you will still be pressing square a whole bunch and triangle a few times here and there, the action is dazzling and they mimic the style and design of the original game very well.
If you're a fan of Persona 5, this is a real story continuation and as such will carry a lot of value there. But, if you're not here for the story, the combat is a good deal of fun when it needs to be, even if it can sometimes get a little too repetitive.

Persona 5 is my favorite universe between all the persona games. Gameplay is great. It does get repetitive and you may spam a lot of your best / fastest/ aoe moves. Story is fun and characters all still have their charm. Great game

Phantom Thieves Roadtrip!

This game is not as good as Persona 5 - that would've been quite a feat. It's not a mainline persona game - there's no social links, and none of the social links show up in the game actually. However, it is absolutely a worthy follow up to Persona 5, and a fantastic spin off if not a true sequel in the sense that it's not a mainline title.
Whereas the original game focused on societal issues and the people oppressing others who can't fight back, this game turns it around to focus on the people who can't fight back. It's a game about the main cast reaffirming the character development from the original game, and teaching people to stand up the way they learned in the original.
You could really call this game Persona 5 Roadtrip as well. The whole party is in-character and there's tons of interactions that are just like the original game. Being with the phantom thieves is as fun as ever.
If you liked the original, or Royal, this follow up is an absolute must buy.
I also pre-ordered this game, and it showed up on release date.

As a follow-up to Persona 5, it falls a bit short in a few places. It lacks some of the heart and style that went into Persona 5, and in places, it feels a bit like different drafts got chopped together without proper blending and like some corners were definitely cut. As a game in general, though, it's very good. The gameplay is fast and pretty intuitive, with enough variation in combat and HP/SP management that you aren't going to fall into a button-mashing fugue state. The characters are, thankfully, as loveable as they were in P5. The ending gets a bit 'second verse, same as the first' at times, but as a whole the story is well handled.

Best Persona game of all time???

By far the best Persona game of all time. It is relatively short, but that does not mean it cuts on content. It is EXACTLY what a Persona game is, but with more action and content. Story is too notch and engaging, quests actually reward you well, fighting feels smooth and natural. Honestly, after this game I hope most Persona games are like this one!

The best game ever made as soon as I unwrapped this masterpiece from its protective case I did not put it down, the combat is a little weird to get used to at first if you are a fan of P5 and P5R besides that the story is just as good as the original the story is engaging and the music never fails to deliver the game is about 40-50 hours long.

Great and awesome sequel which gameplay takes the aspects of Dynasty Warriors combat!
This spin-off is a direct sequel to the original Persona 5 and playing that game is highly recommended to know the protagonists prior adventure since fans of the original will enjoy all the references and jokes only they would understand.

If you loved Persona 5 than this the the sequel you've been waiting for. Excellent story and gameplay that capture every RPG aspect, you'd expect from Persona 5. Plus an action combat system which translates all the same tactics and features as it's turnbased original. This is truely a sequel that shouldn't be missed. One ⭐ down for it's rough VA audio, where at times the voices sound low or muffled...

Fantastic follow-up to Persona 5. I was initially put off by the combat style but quickly fell in love with it's mechanics and the feeling of synergy while fighting. Story as good, if not a little too similar to the base game's story. Definitely worth purchasing if you're a fan of Persona 5.

Only about 1/3+ of the way through the game, but the story is on point. Combat can take a bit to get used to, but by the end of the first dungeon, it flows very well. The story writing, comedy and humor are on point, and there's been multiple times of just laughing out loud over the banter.

Persona 5 Strikers - No Button Mashing Here

Although it carries the "Persona" namesake, those interested in this game need to understand that this is NOT developed by Atlus. And that is not a bad thing.
Persona 5 Strikers is a direct sequel to Persona 5. We are reunited with the Phantom Thieves (and some other familiar faces) as they face another threat from the metaverse.
This game introduces some new characters, and quite frankly, they are very well written. I absolutely enjoy any scene with Zenkichi and/or Sophie. You'll see what I mean when you play. Unfortunately, nothing exclusive to Persona 5 Royal will find its way in here. Sorry everybody, no Kasumi here...
The turn-based combat is replaced with the hack and slash system in which you face hordes of enemies that Koei Tecmo games is known for. And while it isn't particularly difficult, you do still need to approach battles with strategy and tact. It is easy to get decimated if you walk in thinking you can just button mash. You will need to swap out party members depending on the situation.
Overall, this is a continuation of Persona 5 vanilla. And I, like many other fans, love that. Another chance to hang out with the Phantom Thieves is always welcome. The story is well realized, the newest Metaverse threat is an enjoyable addition to the universe, and the new gameplay tweaks are enough to keep players like me coming back.
I won't spoil anything but there are a few story beats and gameplay issues that simply seem to fall flat. For example, the player can exit the Metaverse to replenish hp/sp and grab any items needed just to return without any time passing (unlike previous games). Therefore, there is NO PENALTY for leaving early. What?... I also wish the combat felt heavier and strikes were more meaningful, but that is a personal gripe as hack and slash combat is not my preference.
I have to recommend this to Persona fans. It scratches that itch you need. Or, if you're like me, allows you another avenue to revisit some of your favorite characters after playing every other game in the franchise.
You'll enjoy this. Buy it if you haven't already.

Originally I thought this game was gonna be a simple hack and slash game, but this is a must have as a Persona fan. Even those who have never played a Persona game will find themselves enjoying the gameplay and the story which is well written and find myself playing it hours on end.

Everything arrived: Game & Steelbook

In regards to shipping, everything arrived in the package: game & steelbook case. The game came in a day after the release date, but that was because Texas as having its freeze crisis, so it was understandable. I have only played about 8-10 hours so far, but I am surprised at how far Koei Tecmo went to make the game feel like an actual Persona mainline game. Aside from the usual musou action gameplay, it has everything a Persona game does from different Personas to use and all their various skills; to the point where it feels like a Persona 5 sequel. The game runs great on my PS5 at a stable 60 fps, so it feels smooth to play. Of course I only recommend this game to people who have completed either Persona 5 or Persona 5 Royal. Do not play this game if you have not completed either of those games; Persona 5 Strikers already assumes you have finished the previous games.

Persona 5 strikers is a follow up to the original persona 5. (THIS DOES NOT FOLLOW P5 ROYAL) And what happens after that game with our heroes going on a new adventure. Unlike P5 or P5 Royal this game is not a turn based jrpg but an action hack and slash muso warriors style game. If you played Hyrule Warriors you will feel right at home. The action is fast paced and intense as those games are but keeps the Persona traits we know and love like the top notch music, the colorful characters, fantastic story, and jrpg/social features. I fully recommend this game for any Persona lover and I hope to see more warriors type games with this series in the future. I definitely prefer this over the musical dance spinoffs and or fighting games. If your looking for other spinoffs of Persona to try I would recommend Persona Q 1 and 2 on the 3DS there awesome dungeon crawlers.

Game arrived in great condition, steelbook is gorgeous, game is amazingly fun to play, it doesn't feel like a dynasty warriors game, which is what I was worried about. Its very much a persona game, albeit with action combat.

This game takes place 6 months after persona 5 or royal. I wouldn’t just play this without playing one of the other persona 5 games first. But if you do it’s ok you will have a great time and really good story.
