I have been playing Fifa and PES AKA winning eleven for over 10 years now and I enjoy both. Years back I was more towards PES then fifa but EA has made great improvements over the past years. making graphics better and added different dimensions to this game. PES is fun but gets boring after a little while, it's limited through its clubs and leagues. One future it has is the ability to make your own formations WHICH fifa has added that this year and I think its more detailed. as far as faces in PES goes they always had a better graphic of players than Fifa... Game play in this 2 games are totally different( can not really compare) it's the matter of opinion on which game play is better. I personally prefer Fifa because of the varity of teams, clubs, and game modes. Online game play in fifa is much more smoother than PES. I own both games and enjoy them both. But I spend more time playing fifa because I do not get bored on fifa as fast as I do in PES. If you want to choose between one than the other try both and see which one gets your interest. my only regret is PES does not have the official lisence which makes teams unusual names and most of the players name are not real. Fifa has more options and gives you the daily roster day in and day out with more teams and clubs.

I played the demo only since it has not been released yet. It plays great and is an overall improvement from last year. Magazine reviewers say the online mode has been fixed, which was very laggy last year. I don't know how this other person on this site says the online is not good this year either since the game has not been released in north america yet. He must have a copy from overseas, which means he's playing people halfway around the world which explains the lag. I bought a asian copy last year because I wanted the game early, and the connection was always with people from asia and it was impossible to play online. I then bought a north american version when it came out here, and being connected to people close by made the online much better even with the problems the game had last year. Konami says they have fixed the online problems from last year, so on Nov 12 we will find out. I cant wait.

I think I was the 1st one to buy it from this store. The sales person had to go in the back get the shipping box, open it and hand me the game. Anyways, I played it for a little bit. Haven't tried online yet, I am hoping they fixed lag issue they had. Here is what I saw; the ball feels heavier (more real). Doesn't skate along the pitch like the previous game. Game control feels crispier and game pace is slower. It's harder to score but the AI is more responsive. You can watch replays without having a headache, runs smooth. Also, players motion are more realistic and the graphics are awesome. It is definitely much improved from the 2008 release.

I have been a fan of this series for the past 8 years. Last year was a shocker especially for fans who like to play online. The expectations this year were really high as fixing online was a priority for many fans. However, Konami failed again to deliver a stable online environment. If you are buying this game to play online, dont do it. You will be disappointed. If you are playing offline, then I believe it is a good buy. I hear a lot about Fifa 2009 being the top game this year, although I have never tried it. You may want to check Fifia out before you buy PES.
