I was very excited when I first heard about Disney doing a remake of Pete's Dragon. I anxiously waited for it to come out. I did enjoy the movie, but not when comparing it to the original. In the original Elliott had a personality. In the remake, he's like a giant dog with wings. A "real-life" version of "How to Train Your Dragon". By itself, it was a decent movie. But when compared to it's roots, I was left disappointed. Fortunately, I still have the original to remember the "good ol' days."

The original Pete's Dragon has always been a favorite of mine so I was a bit nervous about watching this remake but I was not disappointed at all. They have done an amazing job with this one and it may be my new fave! I highly recommend it, without any hesitation.

Pete's Dragon is a fun, feel-good movie for all ages to enjoy. It is filled w/ lots of lol antics, adventure and suspense. Even the dragon is so believably done w/ his incredible detail, mischievous & fun nature, that everyone will want to have one as a friend.

a small orphan comes to live with a dragon who protect's the boy as it's own in a great forest But soon the peace turns into a confrontation with between the dragon and some evil trackers who want the dragon to themselves. Good live-action movie by Disney.

The tale of an imaginary dragon comes to life. Pete is raised in the wild where he befriends a dragon and so the adventure begins. The bond is tested when Pete must decide to stay with a loving family or his loving dragon. This movie try's your emotions and has you routing for everyone. There are Many funny scenes.

I really enjoyed this movie in the theatres! Its VERY different from the original, but its very entertaining! The cgi is great and I really enjoyed the cast. This is a great family film and the bonus material is a lot of fun, I really look forward to the behind the scenes and how they did it segments! This is a keeper!

I was a bit skeptical about a live action adaptation of Disney's old animation-live action hybrid, but it's been extensively re-worked here and while the basic story premise isn't the most original (child protecting unusual creature from militarized authorities and would be exploitation profiteers), director David Lowery brings his indie film sensibility and style of impressive cinematography to make this film worth your family's time.

A touching story, well told, with great characters. Liked it much better than the original. The dragon looked a little "dorky", but that's okay it did not detract from the enjoyment of the film. The cast was great and the story was told in such a loving way, you will fall in love with this little film.

I was expecting this to be just be a new version of the old Pete's Dragon, which I also own, but it was refreshingly new. I love the dragon! He is so adorable in his mannerisms, he is very puppy-ish I'd say. Pete in this story is a lost/wild boy, as in lives in the woods. My daughter, who is 7, had strong reactions for saving Elliot and making him fly. This is a great new spin on the story and perfect for young children.

I didn't get to see this one in the theaters because life was too busy. I took a chance and bought it without seeing it. I'm glad I did. As a note, despite the PG rating, I don't feel like this is a kid's movie, I think that most little kids would be bored through this one. Just my opinion.

This movie was a surprise to me, first I wasn't expecting to like it, well I was wrong. I loved this film and it was one of the first remakes I feel truly is better than the original source material. The bluray looks great on this transfer and it's nice it comes with a digital copy for iTunes

I was not expecting a lot from this movie as I am more of an action and horror movie person. I got this to watch with some other family members and was surprised as this movie kept my attention and was entertaining. I enjoyed and it made for a great family night.

Disney just keeps on doing it... Another re-make of a great film and they did a fantastic job. The story line is different from the original which makes it like a completely new movie. Great selection of actors and the special effects with Elliot were well done. We really enjoyed it.

This old flick remastered was absolutely heart warming and brings back so many great childhood memories. The picture was very true to life and had great colors. This movie made me want to laugh, and cry. This would be a great movie to add to your collection or as a gift for any age.

I loved the original Disney story as a kid. It always reminded me of my dad, I know he would've loved this new version. Elliot was an awesome dragon and Pete was cute as opposed to the annoying kid in the original; not musical based like the Disney one either, that's what I liked.

"Pete's Dragon" is a wonderful movie. My granddaughter saw the movie in the theater and asked for the DVD for Christmas. She is almost 12. The movie has great animation and the details of the characters and the meshing of "real people" is right on. Could watch this over and over.

This was a great kids movie. One scene actually had my 5 year old daughter and wife in tears. Very touching movie. My daughter had to have a stuffed Elliott to sleep with every night. We have enjoyed the movie now three times since we purchased it. One of our favorite movies.

This movie made me fight back tears and I'm not even an emotional person lol. I used to watch the original with my father and he passed so this movie really brought back heart warming memories for me. It teaches compassion and love of family and it's good film to see.

Petes Dragon is one of the best Modern day Disney movies. I'm not much of a cryer during movies but it made me cry on multiple occasion, both happy and sad moments. It has a sweet story line and the acting was great. I would absolutely recommend this movie to anyone.
