I grew up watching and loving the original Pete's Dragon movie and was excited to see the new version coming to the big screen and now to be enjoyed at home. While I personally prefer the original movie I still love the new version too. An excellent family movie.

Pete is such an endearing character, that you can help but associate him with your pet dog. I saw the movie, in the theater, with my nieces and we enjoyed it so much that I had to purchase the Blu-ray, so I could watch it again with my other nieces and nephews.

The old version of this movie is one of my most favorite Disney movies. So, I was both worried and excited when they remade it. It's a bit different but I still love it! It doesn't have any catchy songs to be sung but Elliot continues to be my favorite dragon ❤

I saw the original at 5 years old. Elliot was the first dragon I ever loved and probably still my favorite. I'm glad l read the book after seeing the movie because they are so very different. The storyline was a bit predictable but still a great movie.

I did not know if I would like this movie, because I grew up watching the original disnew musical one. That is the one that has the cartoon dragon. I was pleasantly surprised with this version. My family really liked it to, so I purchased my nephew a copy.

I seen this movie at the theatre and knew we would be buying the movie when it was released. I would say it's one of the best friendly kid/ adult kid movie. You will also love the movie too. Purchasing it at Bestbuy was a bonus for they pricematch.

This is a really solid family flick. Its well made and the effects are great! if your a fan of the original (I am!) you may want to temper your expectations a bit because the movie is a departure from the original. That being said it departs in a way that feels true to original and yet fresh at the same time. I thought the movie had a great musical score as well.

Though I had hoped this would be a musical too. I was disappointed with that aspect. But, they still made the movie adorable and Elliott's personality just like he was in the original. I give this one two thumbs up for originality and great story.

I never saw the cartoon as a kid and bought this not knowing what to expect but it was a wonderful movie for the whole famiely to enjoy. A wonderful storyline great effects and has you laughing mad sad and cheering for a good ending koved it.

I loved the original as a kid, and a lot of times I don't like the way old movies are remade, however, this film was fantastic! It was redone very well with a great twist on the original plot. Very good movie! A must-see!

The color, picture and detail are very good. The story is a wonderful adventure with lots of heart. The story takes place in the deep north woods. It is about a boy who is forced to live a dangerous early life but finds a surprise friend and protector. The story has twists and turns which lead to the best outcome for all parties. We need more films like this!

When I was little, I fell in love with Pete's Dragon, the original with Mickey Rooney. I fell in love with this film too. It's an incredible updated classic with great special effects, a loveable non talking dragon, and a good story!

We purchased this because when my family when to watch it in the theater the power went out about half way through the movie, and we never got a chance to go back to see it with our vouchers. Anyway, the film is a fun family film and well done.

We saw this movie at the movies and loved loved it.! My daughter had to have it and we enjoyed the story so much. Maybe because she was leaving for college I cried so much watching it Its a great family movie and will be watched over and over.

Always afraid these will be cheap retellings of originals. The story is well told, the "fantasy" aspects remain believable to the child inside of us, and the cinematography is excellent. The music and score deserve awards.

I saw this movie in theaters when it came out. I wasn't expecting much, but to my surprise, this one one of the must have movies of 2016 for my blu-ray collection. You won;t regret grabbing a copy of this amazing movie. Its not a Musical.

A great kids movie for kids and adults. The emotion from the dragon and interaction with people was very well done. Be sure to check out the extra for the song by Lindsey Stirling called Something Wild, makes you want to play the violin!

I have a love for dragons so naturally, i HAD to buy this movie. Its a little more intense than the original but still sticks with mainly the same synopsis. Realllly enjoyed it! Great graphics too! Elliott had definitely come to life!

I really enjoyed Pete's Dragon. It's a heartwarming story that while fairly basic, I think is entertaining for all ages. The soundtrack is especially beautiful - word of mouth about the music is why I bought the movie.

If you are used to the original version of this movie, you are in for a surprise as this story has new things in it. That being said, we still loved it. It is not a musical though, so don't expect that in this movie. Very well done!
