A weird 80's style film. An okay movie to watch around Halloween time.

I don't know people like this film. It's absolutely awful.

Released the same year as Alien, Phantasm has also become a classic. A boy named Mike becomes suspicious of wrongdoings at the nearby cemetery after the death of his pal Tommy. With the help of his older brother Jody & their pal Reggie, Mike discovers that Tommy's body has been taken (along with others laid to rest there) by an alien known only as the Tall Man who, with a killer sphere and his ability to transform into a beautiful woman, takes bodies back to his world where he reanimated them as slaves (which look like Jawas but sound like the Tasmanian Devil). The climax is a bit confusing, but, thankfully, the final scene of the movie makes up for it. Angus Scrimm's Tall Man rivals Lugosi's Dracula and Karloff's Frankenstein as one of the all time scary movie monsters. The music is also appropriatly moody, rather like John Carpenter's music for both Halloween and The Fog. Michael Baldwin, Bill Thornbury, and Reggie Bannister are also instantly likeable as Mike, Jody, & Reggie, respectively.

Phantasm is one of the best movies I have looked at .it will have you waiting for more movies of Phantasm. so happy they putting them out on blueray now ,I have all on vcr tapes now will get my blueray movies of Phantasm.

This movie is just bizare, and you will come too hate/fear the tall man!!! This is a low budget movie that had all kinds of work put into it too make it a brilliant movie. This is a horror fans must own movie. Pure bizzare brilliance!!!

Original. phantasm is a horror classic. rivaled only by silent night/deadly night, children of the corn, and friday the 13th the series. timeless masterpieces of horror.

The film is remastered and looks great. The improved quality actually makes the movie better.

My all-time favorite horror movie RIP Angus Shrimm. DC, is the master of horror.
