I am already buying the second coffee machine of this brand, it is very easy to use, the coffee is excellent, I recommend it.

I bought this because using my Breville Barista Express was honestly very time consuming. While this isn't perfect, it makes a good drink and fast. Cleaning the milk frother is dead easy too. My only advice for someone is that if you have the money, just go for probably the most expensive one since you get a lot more drink options. And as always remember, no oily beans. At first my plan was to get rid of the Barista Express but I am going to keep it, two very different machines and worth having both options.

The overall size and design is awesome and the unit fits perfectly in our counter-top. The brewing quality is to a high standard. We do have a Ninja coffee drip machine which does make brewed coffee. But this espresso machine takes coffee to the next level. The noise level is bearable. The cleaning process is easy, simple and quick. I'll point out is this machine requires a "break in" period. The coffee and the frothed milk aren't great to start off. My wife loves it and swears by it. Great purchase.

I feel like I'm making coffee shop coffee drinks at home with the ease of pressing a button. The Phillips 3300 Fully Automatic Espresso Machine with LatteGo Milk Frother is a fantastic machine to keep in a home, office, or business space. This machine takes a bit of learning to get used to the intricacies of what it is capable of and how to get it to perform at its best. Once the learning curve has passed I feel like I'm making coffee that is just as good as my high priced coffee shops in town. In the long run I feel that this machine will save my household a lot of money based on how much coffee that my wife and I consume. The beauty of this machine is that it makes the desired coffee with the press of a button. I've been enjoying espresso, standard coffee, iced coffee, cappuccino, latte macchiato, and hot water drinks. Simply use the top storage area for the coffee beans and let the built in grinder do the work. You can enjoy ground coffee in this machine as well for when you want to make individual drinks. The LatteGo milk system has been an excellent way to get frothing in full effect for the various drinks I've made. The foam is very thick and it performs very well with almond milk and dairy milk from what I have used. The ceramic grinders located within the machine work very well and allow for 12 variations of grinding for fine to coarse grinding preference. The LatteGo is also a greatly appreciated attachment due to its simple cleaning system since it consists of only 2 parts that can be dishwasher safe. Our household makes multiple cups of coffee throughout the day and simply requires us to fill water, empty out the used coffee grounds, and clean out the drip tray. Overall I am liking the machine and the quality of the coffee is very nice and strong. If I'm spending $5-$7 per day at the popular coffee shop for a latte macchiato per person that adds up very fast for our household. The only one negative thing I can say about this is that this is labeled as SilentBrew Technology, but it still makes a decent amount of noise between the coffee bean grinding, hot water pump activating, and the milk frother. It's not deafeningly loud, but surely not silent. A high quality coffee machine like this can save me money in the long run and allow for excellent coffee drinks right at home without being rushed or stuck in lines. The machine looks beautiful and classy as well when sitting on the kitchen counter in our home. We have entertained family and friends on a few evenings and made coffee drinks that impressed our guests and everyone was pleased with the quality and simplicity of the coffee. Well worth the investment if you enjoy coffee and love saving money in the long run.

Also, when I selected a “lesser foam” selection, I found that the 3300 provided less milk-to-espresso ratio, which resulted in inconsistent made/tasting drinks. TL:DR - Super easy to make coffee, it’s quick, love making a quick cup of coffee before work. It's decently quiet (minus the frother), and the coffee tastes great! There’s some design things that I wish were different, but overall I enjoy it! Convenient, fast, easy, and tasty. You legit can’t go wrong with it. — What I enjoyed: I tried two types of coffee, one of which is pretty oily/glazey, and the other dry coffee beans. The purpose of this was to see how much of a mess one would create over the other. I started with the dry beans and it did fine, I didn’t expect it to be a problem. I didn’t see things get clogged or clump up. Then I switched to the better beans, and to my surprise, they didn’t get stuck, clump up, etc. The beans on the top even continued to move despite the beans being more oily. In the few days that I had it, I didn’t notice the beans drying out either. Which was a very nice surprise. It’s pretty quiet too, so it didn’t wake my wife or disturb anyone… well the frother does. It’s loud, the steamy noise is loud, but you get used to it. It’ll give you a jump scare the first time you use it, but it’s fine after you know what to expect. The capacitive buttons are not behind a touchscreen like I had originally thought, but they’re colorful, and look nice. They’re easy to press and pretty responsive, and not actually buttons. So easy to wipe down! Speaking of cleaning, cleaning it was also super easy and well thought out. There’s a tray in the front you can remove to dispose of all the old coffee, and water waste. Just rinse it out and you're good to go! Cleaning the frother was also super easy. It just hangs on the little tab thing and just lift and remove. The grinder unit is also easy to clean. Just take off the water, open the door and pull out the grinding unit and rinse. Super easy to do. Seems like Philips recommends this once a week, but I did it ever couple of days. I really like the fact it comes with a water filter, and a water testing strip. It’s really smart that it acclimates to the water you have. What I didn’t like: It wasn’t all good though. For example the frother has three notches on it with VERY HARD to see indicators. It’s not easy to see them. I wish Philips painted them or added metallic inlays for them so they’re easier to see. And the thing I dislike the most is the glossiness of everything! It picks up fingerprints like it’s nothing due to the glossiness of it all. This goes from a nice appliance in your kitchen to a ‘dirty mess’ in what feels like an instant. They should have made it more fingerprint resistant and gave it a brush aluminum look instead of piano black and glossy stuff everywhere. The last thing I didn’t like is the arbitrary small medium large sizes. What does that mean in ounces? No idea, what about cups? No idea! What you think is a small, is likely far smaller than you’d think. And the large is not large at all. I guess if you’re coming from a coffee shop perspective. It’s smaller than you’re used to. They don’t seem to mention it anywhere. Overall though, it’s super easy to make a delicious coffee, and I love it. I wouldn’t EVER go back to standard drip coffee from a pot. This is far superior in every way. I highly recommend it. It’s a great machine that makes great coffee!

Once upon a time there was a fellow named Giacomo Casanova who was in the process of escaping from the Piombi prison in Venice, Italy, when he reputedly decided that before leaving the city, he needed to stop for one last cup of coffee at a famous, nearby (and still operating) café on Piazza S. Marco. Despite his need for a hasty departure, the allure of a good cup of coffee (or any of the tasty derivatives), was a powerful incentive for him, as it is for many others to stop and partake. Although it may be doubtful if anyone will be taking a similar kind of risk like Mr. Casanova did for a delicious cup of flavor from the new automatic barista from Philips, you never know. Personally, I’ve had a cup of coffee at that previously mentioned café, and it truly was great. Let’s see how well this new Philips compares minus the scenic atmospherics and history. To be fair, we’ll use a well-known Italian coffee-manufacturer’s beans sourced from a local Italian importer who also brews and serves this coffee, which I’ve also previously sampled. To operate this automatic machine, we will employ the index finger of my daughter to press the start button, who has, in the past, been a barista in a popular coffee chain. Then, we drink. This is a handsome machine that is relatively expensive, reasonably compact in size and graced with functionality. The controls on this device are mostly intuitive, easy to operate and comprehensive. Setup is relatively easy, even more so if you grew up putting together small plastic blocks or lingonberry-fueled furniture, as Philips employs the open-to-interpretation drawings methodology for instructions that allow earthlings of any language to setup and operate the machine. Any of those earthlings will have to go online to search for an actual written manual to read in their language. Pity the fool that has no internet connectivity, for they shall not make coffee easily. Also note that as you extract the machine from its cardboard prison, note that they’ve supplied a convenient sling of plastic with hand holes near the ends that swaths the lower body and allows easy and safe liftoff out of the nested packaging material. After removing the various stickers and tape, it is advisable to wash any of the removable surfaces that are involved in the coffee-making process. As this model also includes a replaceable AquaClean water filter, you are supposed to shake it for 5 seconds, soak it in an external water bath for 30 seconds (to fill it with water) and install it into the water tank of the coffee maker to allow it to filter the water for improved taste and reduced need for future mineral deposit removal. In addition, Philips has also supplied a small test strip to determine your water’s relative hardness, with results derived by exposing the test strip to the water to be used for a period of one second and then waiting for one minute to determine what the hardness level is. Next, you inform the machine what that level is per the instructions and then you can get on with your new coffee-making life. Maintenance-wise, the manufacturer claims that the ceramic bean-grinding blades are long-lasting and that the cleaning cycle for removing mineral deposits isn’t required to be used until after approximately 5,000 cups have been brewed. Really? I find this hard to believe even if using the in-line filter. The “manual” also seems to indicate a rather rigorous cleaning regimen of rinsing the removable grinding mechanism, accessible from a door behind the water reservoir and all the removable water/coffee contacting parts at least once a week. Obviously, the milk reservoir requires cleaning after each session of use if not storing it in the fridge for the next use. Once every two months, there is a supplied tube of some form of lubrication that is required to be used on the grinding mechanism. So, all things considered, this device requires some maintenance, although perhaps not as much as some more professional models that see higher use, although certainly much more than your typical K-Cup plastic-waste-creator. There is a degree of noise creation with this model that strikes a compromise from the wake-the-household noise levels of professional machines compared to the stealth of a French press. This model rumbles in somewhere between the two, with the grinding portion comparable to the water pump for being the noisiest parts of the cycle. Some of the other pluses on this machine are the six, preset brew choices that allow wanna-be-baristas to handle all the timing and judgement demands that come with mastering the preparatory art of fancy coffee making. While the hot water button is nothing to write home about, some of the other settings do require a bit of getting used to in selecting the correct size container for the various froth and liquid combinations. Also, when selecting the X2 derivative of some of the presets, note that it goes through the complete cycle two times with a fresh coffee grind for each cycle. Another handy feature is the resumption of an ongoing operation after the need for and then a refill of water. Minuses include those same six button-selected brew choices that would appear to be displayed on a programmable lcd screen, but in fact, are just capacitive-touch switches with bright LED lights to indicate positions/settings. Depending on ambient lighting, this sometimes requires the aid of a phone light to illuminate the front of the panel, as the glare from the LEDs overpower the printed graphics in lower light conditions to make reading the front panel’s markings difficult. Other issues include the rigorous cleaning requirements, the lack of a rapid bean replacement (RBR) method to exchange one type of bean for another and an available app that only allows access to a manual and some recipes in exchange for your personal information and God knows what else. There is one saving grace for RBR versatility that involves a chute located at the top of the machine that allows pre-ground coffee to bypass the grinder (with help from a front panel button) for an alternative to whatever is located in the bean hopper, whose contents, when loaded, are somewhat difficult to remove. So, are you a Jacomo or a Jack? Does coffee connoisseur describe your inclination towards the offspring of the roasted brown beans? From my point of view as someone who enjoys coffee, but is not crazy about spending a fortune for a machine that may or may not be relegated to storage in a few months, this machine is at the top of both my budget and capabilities. I like it, but of course wish there were a few changes. I would recommend it to friends if they were in the market for a machine in this price range, but with the caveat that I have had no other brand/model experience with similar priced machines to compare it to. However, there is no doubt that this “automatic” espresso machine is way easier to operate than a manual one with results satisfyingly delicious. There is a charming expression used in the auto world of something called a “daily driver”. This coffee maker may not be a practical “daily driver” for everyone, due mainly to its cost and upkeep/cleaning requirements, but for a personal splurge, or when entertaining, it may well be worth the cost and extra cleaning required. Maybe it’s also worth holding onto whatever coffee maker you currently have and think about this one as more appropriate for use on those special occasions when you don’t mind putting in a little extra effort into using and cleaning your “fully automatic” espresso machine for a taste treat. Everyone in our household thoroughly enjoyed the flavor of the coffees made with this machine and despite what may seem like a limited number of presets, there is a wide assortment of variations possible. We tried many different beans and all of them were handled with aplomb by this machine. Recommended.

They sent me a opene and USED coffee machine they just repacked it. So disappointed it was my birthday present for myself and felt sad when i discovered it was a used item. So much hassle in returning the item.

I’ve made at least 2 drinks a day, for nearly a week now and I’m absolutely hooked, but there are some cons to note. Pros: Setup is very easy, and the packaging allows for handles so you can set the espresso maker up yourself, without anyone’s help despite the box being heavy and large You can customize your foam level, strength level, and even shot/cup amount every time The milk frother really sets this machine apart, and makes a beautiful foam every single time The coffee bean holder keeps the beans fresh, so you do not have to keep refilling it It has a beautiful, sleek look that will add to any decor or space It will allow you so save trips to coffee shops, and therefore save you money Cons Please note that the first 5-20 times you brew a cup it may be watered down as the machine adjusts to being used. This can result in a waste of high quality beans/grinds so you may want to use a brand you aren’t attached to initially so you don’t waste good coffee Although beautiful, the silver face is a breeding ground for fingerprints The water filter is really terrible, and will come on after every use. This forces you to have to open and shut it even if the water is full to reset it before using it It can take a minute to fully power on, and sometimes it starts making coffee on its own, or won’t shut off right away and sort of has a mind of its own It may also tell you that you need to empty the grounds, despite being nearly empty(I will attach a picture) It’s somewhat quite, but not as much as I would have hoped especially the frother which is to be expected The frother may also “spit” at you a bit The cup sizes aren’t really made for typical American sized cups, which means you may need to run it multiple times if you are using this for everyday coffee as well Overall, it makes such great coffee, such great foam, and provides an amazing experience when it’s working as it should. You have weigh out the pros and cons, but overall if you can get past the little quirks it’s worth it.

I have been looking at a variety of espresso/coffee machines and the Philips machine seemed to cover all the bases. First I wanted one that would brew a regular coffee in addition to making a cappuccino or latte. Lets start at the beginning with unboxing the machine. It is packaged well and took a bit to get it out. Make use you check all the packing materials as some of the parts are cleverly packaged to reduce the risk of damage. Once I got it our, there are some initial setup things to do. Follow the enclosed instruction. Be aware they are pict-o-grams and no words some some steps may be a bit confusing. One improvement would be to use words in the instructions. Once everything is setup and calibrated, there is a test strip to measure your water hardness however, it doesn't clearly tell you how to use it. In fairness, there is a Philips channel on Youtube that will walk you through everything. Now that the device is ready, you can pick what type of drink you want and the machine will do what it does best. I have had the latte, cappuccino and regular coffee. All have come out beating my expectations. The coffee tastes as if it was done in a french press! The latte and cappuccinos tasted like they came from a coffee shop! Some things to be aware of, when you first start up the machine, it does go through some sort of start up process that does take a minute or so. At shutdown, it may dispense a few drops of water to clean out the tubes. Cleaning is simple, for the frother, its as simple as removing and rinsing. All the grounds fall to a compartment attached to the drip tray, so sliding out and you can easily empty. Overall I love this machine and it makes coffee shop quality drinks. It will pay for itself inside of 6 months!

How can I say the Philips 3300 is built to last? Well, I've been in the automatic coffee machine for quite some time now. My first machine was a Saeco, and that had the feature of a cup counter. Over the years I owned it, it racked up 10,000 cups! At that time I bought a new machine for myself for Christmas, and took the Saeco to work for my fellow employees to enjoy some afternoon espresso shots. The reason I mention this is that Saeco is now owned by Philips, and it seems they put the company's experience & knowledge to good use. I also own the prior model of the 3300 which has served me well for about 5 year now, with nothing more than the routine maintenance that's outlined in the manual. If you haven't owned a super automatic, I realize it can be a scary thing to lay out big bucks for an appliance that you fear will break down the day the warranty is up. In my experience, take care of the machine, it'll take care of you. The first thing is that it comes with a water filter - plug it into the tank. Order a spare so you ready when it needs to be changed. No need to track it on a calendar, a light will come on the panel when it's time. For me, it's about every 3-4 months doing 4 to 6 cups a day. The next important maintenance item is descaling. It comes as either a powder or liquid, it's basically a citric acid or vinegar variant. Fill the water tank, press a few buttons, the machine will draw the solution in a few ounces at a time and do a soak for a few minutes. The whole process takes about an hour. This takes care of machine's innards, preventing calcium buildup. Most people know about the process as it's pretty routine for all coffee machines. But this is not a $20 Mr. Coffee, so make sure you take care of it. Once again, a light will alert you when it's time to descale. It's also good practice at this time to take care of the mechanical innards. The whole "brew group" as they call it (basically all the moving parts), slide out the side of the machine very smoothly. You'll see coffee grounds, a film of evaporated coffee on most parts, or any other dirt/debris that has accumulated. Clean it all out using a small brush (a child's toothbrush works well), run it under hot water, and snap it back in and you're ready to go. Oops, one more thing - you get a tube of food safe grease to lubricate the O-rings. I've done all these things regularly to my old Philips, and at 5 years, it's still going strong. I'll just pass it on to a family member to get them hooked on the benefits of a super automatic. If anything, after a few years, the grinder will wear down some. At that point you can adjust the grinder (there's a knob inside the coffee bin.) I always use the finest grind, so that's why I'll appreciate having a new machine. There's very little that's changed on this model from the prior. Appearance wise, there are now colored icons on the panel to indicate the various drinks, which make the choices easier to see. The panel itself has been prettied up with a chrome look which was previously basic black. But in my opinion, the most important thing is the lid for the coffee bin. It now has a seal, which will help keep the beans in the hopper fresh. This has the added effect of quieting down the bean grinding. I'm good every day with my morning coffee, perhaps an afternoon or evening espresso. But I love the look on my guest's faces when I set the Latte Go in motion. Pour some milk in the container, press the button, and you've got a 2 minute latte. One thing I'll say, they haven't improved the frother, it is pretty loud. I've been very happy over the years with my Philips branded coffee machines, not one has ever broken down or required major service. Looking forward to many more years of service from my new 3300.

I have used this espresso machine for a few months, so I can tell about my experience. I love the espresso, coffee, or latte the machine does, no issues on those. Cons: The start up really takes long. And it auto shuts off after 3 hours, so you have to start it up all the time. I really dislike it. Water tank is small. It takes 2 to 3 coffee and it's out. The coffee or latte is small, I think max is 8oz. So I usually make 2 cups, 8 + 4. It's not quite as it claims, it's still noisy. I still give it a 4 star b/c of the quality of the coffee.
