Best Universal remote i have ever bought. Very easy to setup and use!

So easy to use and add tv to remote; love this item and if I need a replacement for a tv, I'd definitely buy another one. Thanks for having a great item I needed to make my life easier.

This remote is a battery leach. The first set of batteries seemed to go empty quickly. So I shrugged it off as a fluke and put a new set in but i wrote it on the calendar. Exactly 18 days later the batteries were dead again. Im not replacing batteries 24 times a year. The kicker is that it barely gets used, relative to the average family. We dont even use the voice feature. Of course Best Buy doesnt permit returns by the time someone figures it out.

I have not had the remote very long, Roughly a little over 1 month and have had to replace the batteries, once already. I was also under the impression from the packaging, that this is a Bluetooth Remote (as I purchased this item in store, no I did not speak to anyone)... Meaning that it would work without being "line of sight". it is "Bluetooth Programmable" - but it is not a "Bluetooth Remote".

Ok... very basic. Nice buttons and good feel. Scenes do not work consistently well. It is OK as a backup remote but not a replacement for any "Harmony-like" programmable remote.

We were happy to have this sent to us for review. With a Roku, a smart tv, a sound bar, and a bluray dvd player, our hunting for the right remote to use was getting out of hand. We were hoping that this remote would do the work of four and simplify things. We have programmed remotes before and are generally comfortable using technology. Having said that, though, we might have been generation gapped with this remote. Plenty of good things about this remote. The buttons are pretty clear and back lighting helps my old eyes. Downloading an app to program the remote was new (we're used to simply inputting codes, which is also a possibility, but was hoping for a simpler process), but we're comfortable with most phone apps and device programming. We do have privacy concerns with adding apps to our phones, but went ahead with it for the purposes of review. Set up was easy enough. The app provided us with an improved ease of programming. All of our devices are different companies and I expected some problems from that, but was pretty happy to experience no issues. And then we tested it. With any universal remote designed to take the place of many, there's likely to be some functionality lost as the universal remote can't be specifically created for all devices. That is why all the universal remotes we've ever used before some how aren't as good as the remotes made specifically for their paired devices. This Philips Universal Remote falls right into that category. Convenience, though, can make up for the loss of some functionality. That's what we were hoping for. Our Roku paired effortlessly. No problems. Our TV seems to have done ok, the Bluray DVD, fair. The soundbar is possibly paired, but hard to access. We were hoping to be able to instantly access all 4 devices through the labelled access buttons on the remote, but, more often than not, we get access to the devices through using the Input button. Even that, though, isn't perfect. Also important, the remote seems to go through batteries quickly. Weeks, not months. If you're ready for that, it's effortless to change them. If you didn't think ahead and have some AAs prepared, it's a hassle. All in all, this is about what I expected from a universal remote. It's far from perfection and failed with one of our devices. However, it will take care of our two most-used devices (TV and Roku) and that, frankly, counts for a lot. Would we recommend it? Not heavily. It isn't terrible, and it's probably better than a lot of the other universal remotes on the market. For our day-to-day use, it will add some convenience, but the need to have batteries at hand, and the imperfect programming, takes something away from that. So, it is what it is. Keep in mind that there are plenty of reasons why this doesn't rate highly for us. User error could easily be part of it. We also have A/V stuff from four completely different companies, and the devices from those companies could also be a bit problematic. I'd recommend with deep reservations.

Build quality is not great. Product does work for most items in my home but the main item I bought it for (audio receiver) it does not.

Need a replacement remote for my DVD player. This was recommended and it works great.

Hooks up to all of my devices super easily! Now I only have one remote! Love it!

The Remote is OK, but you have to use other remotes with Samsung LED 55" 2021 top of the line. It's a hassle.

This is a good, but very basic remote. Easy to use, but don't expect a lot of features.

It works good with tv and dvd player but is a bit hard to work with the roku

Most of the buttons are useless. Will not work on an LG TV at all. Once you commit to Netflix no way to switch apps or even go back to regular TV.
