I got 2 of these. I stuck one to my bed's metal headboard (they're magnetic) to easily be able to turn on and off my bedside light in the night to see to go to the bathroom and such. I left that one on the time of day lighting setting, and all the defaults seem to be spot on with how I'd set it up, so I left it that way. Really appreciate the dim "nightlight" setting in the middle of the night, just enough light to see and not stub my toe on stuff, but not enough to completely wake me up or throw off my sleep cycle. For the other button I used the little adhesive plate to stick the button to the marble base of my desk lamp to just be able to sit down and press it to get light to work by. This one I set to cycle through the different lighting presets, as I generally would like the full brightness cool light to come on regardless of time of day. Was very easy to pair with my Hue bridge, and respond quickly. Very intuitive for only one button. Tap once for on, wait a little, then tap again, and off. Hold to dim down. Press repeatedly within a second or 2 after turning on to cycle through lighting presets. I saw a number of reviews that say these eat up batteries, I will keep an eye on this and update if I think the battery life has been unacceptable for me, but so far so good!

I bought this product after having a couple plain white smart bulbs from this brand, and I loved how they worked, but wanted to get them in colors. I saw the price and thought maybe it was a little expensive, but one I got them and tried them out I am so glad I spent the money. They are so extremely cool and fun to experiment with! 10/10 recommend buying.

I love these lights ! They are great quality. The price is a bit high In comparison of other brands. But you can’t beat the quality and ease of use! Beautiful colors. Also love the presets they have, that combine colors for a different atmosphere. Will buy more to complete my collection, but will definitely wait for a sale price !!

The lights are perfect. The dongle that plugs into the router/modem that allows you to program different bulbs for different rooms is easy to setup through the philips hue app on your phone. The bulbs themselves give a perfect amount of light. Ycan adjust the color as well as the brightness. The remote that comes with it is also nice as well. There is a baseplate for the remote with 3m tape on the backside to be able to stick to the wall. Then the remote has a magnet to stay connected to the backlate or come off. Im going to buy more bulbs to put around my house, and if you have that philips hub thingy you can connect every additional bulb to it as well. So i would for sure buy the hub if you plan to expand in the future

I just fell in love with these, the amount of light settings, the brightness, ease of use. Everything has been amazing. Recommend keeping the lights close together to help give effect for different scenes or lighting adjustments. Also, the $ difference in cheaper products stands out.

Finally decided to bite the bullet and buy a starter kit. Was a little skeptical that I would enjoy this product as much as I do but now I can't imagine going back. Setting up the lights is as easy as putting the bulbs in, plugging in the bridge and using the app to connect everything. The lights are VERY bright as compared to the candle style bulbs (E14) and can display a wide range of colors. I haven't played with the colors much, I prefer to use the brightest white that the bulbs can display. I was also worried that I would have to install the included dimmer switch, but no, there's no installation required. It's more like a remote than anything with settings to turn the lights on and off and to dim or brighten the lights. Automatically works once you have the bridge connected and the best part is that you can stick it to any magnetic surface without worry. In all, this is the best place to start with the Philips Hue system if you're interested in giving them a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Super easy to setup with local WiFi. Remote access via the cloud requires a few more steps and must first be configured per smart device (iPhone, tablet, etc.) while I’m still connected to local WiFi, but after you have it setup it’s a breeze to use. Just remember to wait until it says “connected” before toggling anything on or off. I use my Philips Hue when I’m home, away, and even the other features such as routines for automation purposes. The switch is nice when I’m at home and don’t want to carry my phone everywhere and open the app just to turn on a light. I’m thinking about putting a switch in each room and converting every single bulb in my home to a hue light. It may be a relatively costly endeavor but could be worth it just to have the smart light automation. Hopefully Philips lowers their pricing soon because while their Hue products are awesome, they’re still pretty darn pricey in comparison with conventional LED bulbs and competing Smart LED manufacturers.

Hue lights are my go-to smart bulb. Hue has done an amazing job at integrating their products to work with virtual assistants, and I have found little issue with controlling them using my Google home and Siri. The wide array of colors and the ability to sync lights with media such as movies, music, and video games are features that really set the Hue bulbs apart from other smart lighting. These are a must buy for anyone looking to start or upgrade their smart home setup!

These are great light to have around your home. The app is easy to use to set up the bulbs. Nice to be able to control the colors . The dimmer switch is nice so you can adjust the Amount of light without using your phone. Try to buy these on sale because, although they are nice, they are expensive in my opinion. The only downfall is that my computer can not find the app or the bridge so you can sync your lights with your music

Setup is super easy, just plug the hub to your modem/router, replace your old existing light bulbs with these new ones, download the app on your phone and follow the instructions... and boom! you can now control your lights with your phone or smart device in your home (like alexa, google, etc), change colors for like music or a just a vibe lol, dim your lights and turn them on or off without getting off the couch. Im never going back to regular light bulbs after being spoiled with these lol

There's no denying that Hue is expensive. However, if you are in the market for the line of products, it's the best out there, and this kit is the best value. We have purchased the kit each of the past two Black Fridays, when it was on sale, and recently connected it to our Google Minis. The lights are smart and extremely customizable, and the remote is very convenient, especially for turning off lights before bed if you don't have an Assistant device. Great products, albeit quite pricey.

I was holding out on making the jump to the smart lighting segment of the smart home. However, after seeing the Hue starter kit on sale (and just having a baby), I thought it'd make some instances around the house a little easier. Boy was I surprised! They surpassed my expectations! The cost is higher with Hue compared to some of the other brands, but the setup is super simple and the app is super easy to understand and navigate. As a plus, they also work with Apple Home Kit, Alexa, and Google Home, so everything is just a simple voice command away.

This Philips Hue starter kit has all the pieces to add lights to your smart home. It comes with three full color LED bulbs, the Hub to connect them to your smart home, and a portable switch that works like a remote control for your lights. The set up requires a little technology knowledge. But not too much. I have 20 bulbs set up in my house, and control them from anywhere with the Hue app. Forgot to turn off the kitchen lights, but you’re in bed already? App. Away for a day or two, and want to make it look like someone is home? Turn lights on and off with the app. You can even set up “routines”, where the app does these things on a schedule.

Great set! I love Philips Hue. First, I tried "C by GE" and was greatly disappointed. I returned that and got this set. When I priced it out, this set made the most sense for a starter AND it gave me the ability to use all the colors. I had planned on using a second bridge, but no need, the bridge covers all the smart lights I have set up. I love that I am able to ensure we didn't leave the lights on AND turn the lights on either through the app or the switch. We set up fun scenes for my daughter. It creates a fun atmosphere for her and friends in her playroom!

Bought these as my first smart home devices. While the setup was very easy with homekit I do wish they included more switches as having only 1 switch to control 3 bulbs in other rooms was pointless. It took a little bit to program the remote to only control the 1 room it is in. As far as the bulbs they are bright and have many color options. It's also nearly instant from turning them on with your phone to asking siri to turn them on. I would buy these again as they have not given me any issues since I first installed them.

Just got them and setup took maybe 15 minutes. Downloaded the Hue app and that looks like a lot of fun to play around with (the scenes and formulas look like they will be interesting to play around with). Very responsive, love the dimming and unbelievable color options. I have several Alexa products and the setup with those was super quick (I used the Amazon Alexa app to do the setup). So far controlling the lights with voice commands is great (although I’m new to it so all I’ve gotten around to is on, off and changing the color). Hopefully everything stays connected and runs as smoothly as the initial setup!

I love these Phillips hue lights, they are awesome and easy to set up if you follow instructions, and watch the beautiful light shows with so many colors to play with,I haven't figured everything out with this cause the possibilities are endless, and once you download the Phillips hue app it's so fun to play with, you would never get tired, I can't wait to buy more light bulbs and create so much more fun with the app, definitely worth buying if you wanna change up the scene in your living room/ bedroom or dining room area.

These lights are absolutely amazing I’ve been turning our house more into a smart house, and at first my husband wasn’t so sure, but he LOVES these lights They set the mood for dancing, movie nights, date nights in, etc. These have been one of my favorite smart home purchases thus far They’re pretty easy to connect and super easy to use The amount of colors is astonishing and make for some beautiful mixtures throughout the house

It seems to be fairly popular nowadays to use red light in the middle of the night to keep the midnight feedings from disrupting your sleep schedule too much. Something about melatonin and bright light. These aren’t the most economical option, but they work great. These work with Amazon echo so you can change the color by voice, which is huge when you don’t have free hands doing infant stuff. Takes a minor amount of prep work but it’s totally worth it. Best Buy has sales from time to time and that’ll help with the cost.

We’ve been dipping in our toes in the smart tech landscape recently and decided to pursue the Philips Hue family of products. We have not been disappointed at all! These lights work so well. The starter kit came with the bridge which has allowed us to use voice commands via Google Assistantships. The color lights have been way more fun than a thought (I.e. not just a novelty), but if you don’t foresee yourself using colors, then I would recommend the ambient white lights which will give you cool to warm lighting.
