I really love what light does, like the beautiful glimmer of waves in the morning, and these bulbs open up options that make exploring new indoor options a breeze. They are especially good on cold winter nights when the wind is blowing furiously and the house has those dark corners. No more!: Alexa, turn on all Hue lights. Then I like to play with the individual bulb colors with the app.

I've always been an early adopter and I still remember the day I watched the introduction of the original hue bulbs. I was immediately hooked and went and bought a start-up pack on the first day of availability. Over the past few years, I have continued to love my hue system (especially with the recent upgrade that made the system compatible with HomeKit), but noticed I seldom used the "colored" lights. Instead I used the "light recipes" that changed the temperature of the white light nearly every day. During the day I would switch the lights to the "concentrate" setting for higher temperature light (4000-5000K) and later in the day I would change over to the softer light temperature that most people are used to. So when I saw the the announcement that they would be releasing these bulbs I was ecstatic. Plus, they were going to be brighter (800 lumens vs 600 lumens of original model) and half the price! I have purchased a number of these bulbs over the past 2 months and highly recommend them to anyone interested in smart lighting. The colored lighting of hue is fun at first, but I feel most users don't often change their lighting to blue, red, and green after the first couple of weeks. The affordability and the practicality of these bulbs strike just the right balance for those interested in high quality "adjustable white" lights.

I love how this lightbulb helps make our home feel automated as well as have an interface we can control via smart phone. Absolutely recommend!!!

This is the second white ambiance A19 LED Light Bulb I purchase and synch's to its hub. Best purchase as I continue building my light network. With the Hue app its' easy to dim bulbs.

Love the hue lights. They interact well with Alexa and you can change color or dim whenever you qant to. Try purple for watching movies. Its like being in a theater.

I love my Hue bulbs. I have several different types, and this White Ambiance set just adds to the collection. OK - I'm a lighting guy - and I really like to be able to create different light scenes and moods for my home. I'm impressed with the level of dimming capable with these bulbs - even better that the standard dimmable LED bulbs I purchased from home improvement stores. No flicker, quick response - perfect for getting the room warmth just right. These bulbs are not color, but have a 2200 (a very warm white) to 6500K (an energetic blue hue). Works great where you don't need a color bulb!

These bulbs are nice, they work just as expected. I dont yet have the Hue Hub to controll them via the Hue App, or through my Google Home. I plan to get one as a gift for the holidays, or buy one after myself. So I cant comment on theyre full functionality. But as a lightbulb these work great and provide plenty of light on my bedroom nightstands.

Like what the review summary says, it is the best! You need a hub to make them work. Then you need the app. Once all the lights are on you can simply add them to your hub through the app. There are other apps that allow you to create music raves and more. I can turn off my kids' lights while not having to go upstairs. I can turn on/off lights while on vacation or set timers. I chose these lights because they are brighter than the $14 ones and need to go in locations were only one bulb can go so they need to be the brightest.

I recently bought more of the Philips Hue Ambiance A19 Wi-Fi Smart LED Bulb because I absolutely love the convenience of these bulbs with my Amazon Alexa and it's super easy to set up a new bulb with the bridge. I really don't have any complaints about this product, just wish they were cheaper so I don't have to buy them in small bunches.

Its nice to be able to chose my shade of white I prefer, or to be able to color match to other non hue lights in my house. More expensive than the yellowish white base model bulb, but worth the upgrade in certain situations.

This white Hue bulb gives a range of white color temperatures from amber to white to bluish light so it has a bit more options than the standard soft light light bulbs but half the price of the full color models. They integrate with the Philips Hue bridge which i got with another package. My only issue is that the intensity of the light is not as strong as i would like it to be. I actually had to buy this extra bulb to add more light in my living room because the other two Philips hue bulbs just weren't giving off enough light for our taste. The only other option if you like your lights strong and bright is another brand called LifX but those are more expensive and i'm not sure if they function as seamlessly as the Philips do with their bridge

If you have a Philips Hue system, this is the bulb to add in your bedroom. Adjusting the light from a very soft white to a bright daylight-like bulb can really help your body wake up and set your natural circadian rhythm, especially if you work in an office that lacks natural light. Pairing with the Hue hub is pretty simple, and it responds quickly to the app. I just wish prices would continue to drop on this bulb.

I reviewed and waited before I made the leap in purchasing the hue lights due to the cost. I bought a package which included a hub and lights, and after I connected the bulbs I never looked back. These are some of the best bulbs you can buy. Having the ability to control your lights while away is great, setting the lights to match your mood is another benefit to having these lights. They connect fairly easy to the hub and the app. Setup is easy and the app is really straightforward, with a variety of products such as dimmers and such, the price is worth it.

I bought the Philips Hue along with a wemo smart outlet to explore the options for security lighting. After setting up Hue and playing with it for a few days, I returned the wemo. I bought the starter kit with 2 dimable white lights for the bedroom and the white ambient lights for the living room and study. Setup with the Hue app on iOS was easy. Then I set up the Alexa skill. Alexa was a little more complicated because I was already using a Honeywell thermostat in the living room and there were a few ambiguities. Also, although Alexa imported the scenes from the Hue app, it did not enable them. One I enabled them, they work well. “Alexa, turn on tropical twilight in the living room” sets a low level of “warm” light which is perfect for watching TV. One pleasant surprise was then even the basic white dimable can be controlled by scenes. “Alexa, turn on nightlight in the bedroom” turns on the dimmest light. New scenes can be created with the Hue app and eventually become available to Alexa. I was able to connect the Hue to Apple’s HomeKit but since I do not own a HomePod, I do not use it that much. Summary: not the cheapest way to automate home lighting, but for about $100 for starter kit and two additional ambient white lights, a great way to start.

If you are one of those people that is finicky about the color temp of your lighting - this is the bulb for you. Don't want to spend $50 on a bulb with 16 million colors, but want to be able to have anything from blue white to warm white and dimmable - get this bulb. I mostly like a warm soft light, which the basic white bulb (also dimmable) gives you - but there are those spots that you want a white, blue/white outdoors color temp. The best thing though is the ability to have both in the same lamp with this bulb. Think of bedroom light where you may want a good reading light that also is warm so you can get ready to sleep, that changes to a relaxing warm dim light to help your body go into sleep mode or doesn't jar you if you need to turn it on in the middle of the night and then in the morning can be a bright energizing light to help you awaken and get on with the day. This is the light bulb to do that. It is so easy to hook up and use. After installing the Hue Hub and the app on your phone or computer - you just screw this bulb in, turn it on and it appears in the app as available. Give it a name, assign it a room and you are done. If you have a Google Home or Amazon Alexia you can have more fun, and just use voice commands to turn it on and off and dim or brighten. Price point is around $30 which is +15 to the basic white, but -20 from the full color bulbs.

Managed to get these on sale but my entire house is set up with all Philips HUE light bulbs. Some of them are these White Ambiance which allow you to get that ultra white adjustment with the app. The rest of the house has the basic HUE lights and then in other parts I have the LED strips as well the color lights in some locations and outside just to mess with the neighbors. As long as you have the Philips Hub you're set and setting up and adding new bulbs literally takes a couple minutes. The App takes a slight learning curve but once you're locked in and logged in you can control them from anywhere and do not even need to be home to adjust the lights as well. Also ? the Timers is nice when it get's dark outside and a nice security option to change the lights around to auto turn off and on. Pricey ? Yes these all can be but I haven't had one bulb go out on me. Some of mine are about 3 years old if not older. So that covers the durability side of these as well. Enjoy these are worth the money hands down.

I don’t know how I went through life not knowing to switch to these type of lights? The PH LB is the greatest invention ever! It was extremely easy to install and it run on bluetooth and not WiFi so if your WiFi gets cut off for whatever reason you’re still going to be able to turn on your lights. I installed these on a ceiling fan that had 2 conventional light bulbs and I had to make an effort to turning it off/on. Not anymore, with the LB’s I’m able to turn the lights on/off within a matter of a few seconds without and problems. I could be laying in bed trying to sleep and I could dim the light right from the app and make them into “night lights.” I absolutely love these and I would recommend them to any other fellow lazy people out there. Lol.

The entire Hue 'smart' lineup of bulbs and strips are just awesome... including the Hue ambiance bulb! I have had Hue bulbs (white ones, color ones and the strips) for sometime now. After purchasing the ambiance bulbs, I replaced all the white bulbs with the ambiance ones. So nice!! I recommend highly if you don't want to spend the money on the color bulbs!

I use this in my room lamp so we can easily control the light with our child in the middle of the night. I also work nights and early morning so it helps me adjust the lighting in the room without having to get up. The light itself is very bright at it's max and dims very low. This is just white ambiance only, not color.
