Alright, so I'm gonna try to be unbiased, even though the product has impressed me. First, and foremost, buying this starter kit is actually more affordable than buying three more color lights. Consider that when it's time to add lights. Now with regards to the product, it's very user friendly, with an easy setup procedure,but it requires constant wifi. If your WiFi is not stable in certain rooms, then control may be questionable. Beyond the ease of setup, the lights themselves are exceptionally bright in white, but seem to lose lumens when reproducing certain colors, such as teal or violet. I also purchased the LED light strip for my TV and found the colors don't match perfectly with the bulbs. Just something to consider if you're even slightly OCD. Last thing to say: this setup is far more expensive than competing products,but the trade-off is easier warranty service and local replacement availability. Your choice.

I’ve had other smart bulbs and always have connection issues...until I bought the Phillips Hue, perfect out the box although on the priceir side!

I love smart home devices, i am also a software developer. Hue Lights are really cool, expensive but really cool and the newer version are better since colors are a lot more accurate than previous versions. The Philips - Hue Color 3pk Starter Kit with Lightswitch - Multicolor is really nice because it allows you to start using the lights and also control them without using the app. I mostly use different colors and dim levels in the bedroom and they are great for going to sleep. They are expensive but if you have some budget I would say that you should try them out.

These lights are a great addition to any smart home. My only warning is that they are a bit expensive and addicting once you start adding color to your home.

I adore this setup. The app installation was as easy as screwing in a lightbulb. I synced this with Alexa and now she'll keep the house LIT! You'll never have to enter a dark room again. It works remotely through the app. My only complaint is the price point.

Amazing function such beautiful colors. Starter pack was a great choice with the hub and light switch. The switch/ remote sticks anywhere!

This kit is a GREAT way to start setting up your smart home. This was my first purchase and I connected it to my google home app in minutes. The only problem I see is the price point on each bulb. Because you really get used to using it.

I had been looking for smart lights for a while and decided to choose the Hue ecosystem during Black Friday weekend (which basically included the dimmer for free). Setup was pretty simple and the bulbs paired easily/automatically. The only issue I ran into was that the software update takes FOREVER. As a tip, I would recommend giving your bulbs line of sight to the hub during this update as I had some connection issues that I didn't have during normal operations. Anyways, lights look beautiful. Easy to configure. I would highly recommend installing the software on the Hue site that allows you to sync with your computer's video or audio. I had originally only planned to get a couple colored bulbs and get tunable whites for the rest of the apt, but I loved it so much that I splurged and bought more colored bulbs (and going to get a LED strip soon too). I have not compared with any of the competitors, but I am still very happy with my Hue purchase...even at the premium price point.

After looking around at different options for quite some time, I finally caught this set on sale. There are other less expensive alternatives but the range of color and brightness along with ease of use kept bringing me back to Hue. Set up was very simple and now with the bridge you can add lights all over your home. The app is very user friendly and initial set up is a breeze. The mountable switch plate with magnetic remote is definitely an added bonus if you don't want to use your phone constantly. Love the remote access feature that is provided through the app allowing operation of all functions when away from home. If you can catch it on sale like I did, I highly recommend taking advantage. Improves the feel and mood in any room.

After eyeing this Hue starter kit for a while I decided to take the plunge. It's not difficult to set up, but as my house is on three stories found that I had to run around once or twice when setting up the Hub as the lights were on a different floor from the router. It works very well with the Google Assistant (I don't do Alexa). As I've seen people report, I can attest that it does take a while to set up - which is not because of it being hard to set up, but rather because once set up it takes time for each item (Hub + lights) to update (which doesn't bother me - with smart items, they get better and better). You don't have to watch over it though...set it up and update it (it's intuitive and automatic). It integrates very well with the Google Hub and Google smart speakers. You can 'name' individual bulbs, work with whole room schemes, set schedules, etc. Simply download the Hue software to your smart phone and you can control all your Hue devices by assigning preset ambience 'types' - like energizing (whiter sun-like light) to shore sunset, etc. I've researched several possible brands and setups and think that I made the right choice with the Hue family, especially because it works well, responds quickly to commands (either through the Hue app on your phone or "Hey, Google" and seems to be one of the systems that will remain at the head of the pack, at a reasonable price. I look forward to the day that the prices drop on adding additional lights... :)

Rating it 4/5. 7.5/10 would be more precise Pros: -Works as intended/advertised -Basic color profiles -Very vibrant and convenient -Easy to set up Cons: -individually expensive(bought for cheap during the holiday sales) -I still don't have a purpose for the switch and its limited options/use. An extra bulb would have been a better offer. -The app could use a little more creative work. -Google low key stopped supporting Hue or vice versa; I have not been able to control my lights with Google Home and that was the intended purpose of this purchase. Overall: I'm very pleased with this purchase. Only spent about $130ish and intended to integrate them with voice control. The Hue app is simple and I wish it provided more functions and a fix to Google Home Support. (Still waiting for a fix to this someone let Google and Philips Know!!) These are A19 bulbs and apparently the newer series provide more true colors [the spectrum for these lack a true purple for instance. Just see what is painted on the box or display at your local store, and the same may be said for other cooler/warmer colors] If you have the money and want to experiment. Why not invest in these? They are supposed to last an average of 10-15 years (or so I've read) which can potentially cut a couple of $$ off your electricity bill. Why not have fun with this fun fact? Don't get me wrong, the Philips Hue app while it may feel like it lack some features, the best and most used feature I like are its Timer, Routine, and Schedule On/Off functions. They may as well be therapeutic, while purposely become the new age party favor for get togethers. Hope this review is helpful out of the bunch already posted.

Bought these for our house. Color and lighting choices are awesome! Using the google hue app is easy and you can set up timers and schedules for these if you like. Only trouble I had was setting the lights up. The app had a hard time syncing which lights were on and using. But it finally worked. Downside is that if you want more lights, they are really expensive to buy individually. They have other lighting products too, but also expensive. Keep an eye out for sales.

I absolutely love these Philips hue lights. They are very bright and look stunning behind monitors, on the ceiling, etc. I’m new to Philips hue, and now I’m literally buying philips hue everything!!!. Hue lighting is by far the best. I love being able to control with Siri. Definitely buy a starter back as it includes the bridge. If you don’t have the bridge, all you’ll get is the standard white color.

I really love the look of these lights and the way they make the room look with their bright and vivid colors. You can customize your own colors and control each bulb individually if you wished. The app is very intuitive, easy to use, however, these are a little overpriced. You can get the same quality of lighting from other brands at a cheaper price. Still I have no regrets. It works as expected.
