Had wanted to accentuate different parts of my home and my wife wanted to paint each room a different color. By using the Hue Light A19 Starter Kit, I was able to accentuate different art pieces and paint with light.

Convienent coming home to house lights on. Was fun messing with my boyfriend when out of the country but turning his lights on and off while he ate. Definitely worth investing in to prank your significant other.

This is a fantastic lighting system. Very easy to setup and install and even easier to use and maintain. The App is pretty basic but still allows for programming and different lighting scenes to be created.

I bought this set on Black Friday last year. These lights were easy to install, synced quick with the hub, and look awesome. They are bright and provide a great deal of light in my kitchen as well as outside. Since this original purchase, I purchased 5 additional bulbs and two Philip Hue light strips. Color changing works flawlessly and Philip Hue works with several different ecosystems like Apple Homekit, Amazon Alexa, Google, Comcast, etc.

These are absolutely awesome! Simply to install just screw out old bulb and screw in new Hue bulb. The starter kit came with the Hub and it was super easy to install and found all my bulbs and allows me to add up to 50 total on the single hub. The scenes and color changing abilities make for a great party atmosphere when friends are over and adjust it to normal lighting all other times. Can be controlled using Google Home to turn on and off or switch scenes.

Very easy to install. Just plug in to outlet and rotter and turn on lights. Hue app guides you though install. Love the new bridge that connects to Siri

It's pretty much plug and play. We got the apps to play around with it and it works just fine. You can even make up your own scenes to fit your preferences. It's a great way to light according to mood.

I have quite a few of these lights, and love them. The downside is cost. You can still sometimes find discounts on the first generation lights that are fully compatible with these second generation lights. Note that the second generation lights are brighter, and come with the Apple Homekit compatible bridge (square shape). The older sets have the older bridge (round shape) - it's still compatible with all the Hue products, but not with Homekit. As usual, BB rarely discounts, and loves full price.

I was skeptical at first of how useful these would be. I bought the starter kit, for use in my living room and dining room to produce some comfortable ambient lighting that could be customized. I was pleasantly surprised on how easy it was to setup, and the effects that it produced. The color is vibrant and the standard light colors work great. I like the idea of using Siri to operate the lights in the house, or to turn them on when I'm not home.

Philips continues to (slowly) improve on an already stellar product, and the new hub (which adds Siri integration) is representative of that. The biggest bonus in my opinion is the increased brightness of the new bulbs.

I have 10 of these lights installed. The Philips hub is connected to both Staples Connect hub and Amazon Alexa. During christmas, I used a Christmas HUE app to change colors to music. Worked well.

This is a bit pricey. That said, when they are installed, they are awesome! I would never think lights could be so fun. There are so many things that can be done. I have them blink when it's my five year old's snack time, they flash when the Buffalo sabres score, turn red when I miss a cell phone call. There are many more, I won't bore you. I also went and bought the strips, and the hue. It does become a bit addictive. Besides price, they are awesome.

I have the first generation of the Philips hue. Comparing this second generation, it looks like the bulbs are much brighter and the colors are more vibrant. I like the Siri HomeKit integration but I'm still waiting for Amazon to update the Echo app so Alexa can change ambient colors not just on/off or % of brightness. Overall I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

I bought first the Hue lightstrip and realized i needed a Phillips Hue (it doesn't connect directly to SmartThings Hub), so i bought this starter kit. It works great. With the right app, you can turn your house into a night club. The lights will change colors according to the music. it is fun. Specially if you add Google Home. It has different scenes that you can change to suit your mood. And you can add more bulbs around the house.

I have been keeping an eye out on this product for over a year and always talked myself out of buying a smart "light bulb", but after having them for a couple weeks now I wish i would have bought them sooner. Pros - The ability to control from siri, phone app, and many other integration. - IFTTT and Stringify support to automate your lights - You can easily set the mood in a room, it can be calming - Easy to setup - Ever expanding ecosystem, the wireless remote/switch is perfect. Cons - Expensive - Things fail if you turn off the device but after awhile no big deal.

The system works great!. I've got the hub in my office and lightbulbs in my living room. The greens are disappointing, but I was aware of that beforehand. The lights are otherwise great.

Easy setup, ready to use in just a few minutes. Requires you to download the app,iOS or android, to control. Only way to manually turn on/off the lights are to pick up your phone or tablet. Easy to set up automatic timers to turn on scenes at predetermined times.

A little pricey, but love the automation. These lights have great geofencing features that allow them to automatically turn on when I get within range of the house at night. I love this! Another great feature is the fact that they can turn just about any color imaginable! Very well made, I just hope they last a long time since they are so expensive to replace. I will definitely be adding to my Phillips hue collection in the future!

The best review comes from my wife who normally hates new tech in the house and has fallen in love with these lights. With the addition of Echo she can control the lights by voice! This kit was easy to setup and has performed well. Hardest part is remembering not to turn the light switch off. overall this is a fun kit only down side is that generation 3 bulbs have better color but those bulbs will work with this kit.

I've been debating whether or not I wanted to fork out the cash for these, but once installed there was zero buyers remorse. These lights are all they are advertised as and more!
