This will add a level of immersion to your media that you did it know you needed! Note: if you’re experiencing frequent disconnects of your lights while syncing and your sync box is hot to the touch, return it and get a new one.

My only issue with this device is I had to place the Hub really close to the box because it was disconnecting. Its a little expensive too.

When you find a way to get it all set up, it’s awesome. However it’s a bit tricky to get it working right depending on your setup. I tried plugging it into my AV receiver’s second monitor output, but that somehow disabled auto-start of the sync box. I ended up putting the box between my receiver’s main output and the TV, which is unfortunate since it complicates the cable setup and probably adds latency to the TV. From there the problem is with shutting off the device: they give you a USB trigger to use which allows the sync box to be automatically powered off when the TV shuts off, but somehow turning on the receiver by itself turns on the sync box, and then it doesn’t shut off unless I turn the TV on and off. Alternatively I can wait for the sync box to auto-shutdown, but that’s kind of an unsatisfying solution, and when the sync box auto-shutsdown it causes other outputs of the receiver to be interrupted briefly while it reconfigures its HDMI connections. I also had trouble with the hue sync box app, I think it only allows 1 person to control it? Sucks if you share the TV. So in conclusion… it rocks when it works, but it has a lot of rough edges when you try to integrate it into a non-trivial AV setup. I wish the manufacturer would make some patches to improve interoperability with AV receivers and stuff. Maybe the problems are fixable if you write a bunch of custom code in homebridge, but I wish it just worked properly in the first place, and the fact that it took me so much work to get this thing working (with still a bunch of flaws in the system) makes me give this product a non-satisfied review. But again maybe this is all fixable in future updates, or with enough tinkering.

I laughed at this years ago when it came out, thinking it was such a waste of money. When I ready about the software upgrades to work with Dolby Vision and Atmos passthrough, decided to give it a try. Works flawlessly and really adds to the experience. Hue products are always impressive and they do a great job of keeping up with technology changes with constant firmware upgrades.

Everything about this product is as advertised. Its pretty simple to set up. Just remember not to back out the hue sync app before setting your entertainment are 1st or youll have to do the whole processs drom the beginning. Heres a show off tip, watch spiderman enter the spider verse for a great cinematic light show

The Philips HDMI Sync Box is a much better way of syncing your lights & entertainment; rather than lightstrips with calibration cameras. I have had a few issues with it including no video, no sound, black flashes on the screen. Some of these issues can be fixed but I've had to figure out these solutions on my own.

If you want to integrate your hue ecosystem with your movies/games, this is a must! A little pricey but it works very well. There is a very little delay in screen to light change but it is hardly noticeable when looking for it and near negligible when watching a movie and not thinking about it. Must have!

When I first bought this product, it stopped working within a year; after calling customer service, they gave me a full refund within a few days. I decided to give it another chance, and I have not had any problems.

Completely changes movies and video games. A little tricky to get working with Dolby vision 4k 120hz at the same time but it is doable with the right components.

Fantastic! Such a great feature to add to your TV set up. Easy to install, and it changes colors with the screen or music. Manage it right from the app.

Might have gone overboard with this and the lights. But Why not I have 10 hue lights (play’s and bulb’s) hooked up through this behind the TV. Very cool to watch movies. Pics below. But don’t do the real thing justice.
I use this product as part of my 4-D TV. I love it! Very straightforward to set up and use.

Save your money and listen up, this product is overpriced. Their are other products for much less that do the same thing.

The set up takes a while to update. Once updated and up and running, connection keeps cutting out every 10 minutes. I don’t mind once or twice maybe but every 10 to 15 minutes it gets really annoying. I’m not sure if my box is defected or if it’s part of the system itself. Either way I’m returning it for malfunction.
