Customers are saying
Customers are impressed with the 5300 Wet/Dry Electric Shaver's shaving quality, ease of use, and long battery life. Many also appreciate its affordable price and quiet operation, along with the convenient wet/dry functionality and included trimmer. While some users wished for more power, the overall performance and lightweight design received positive feedback. The positive aspects significantly outweigh the single reported drawback.

affordable yet still good quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this shaver a month ago to replace my old Philips shaver that lasts more than 5 years. The old one still works except battery only supports 2-3 shaves and it doesn't have pivot head. Therefore I would like to try the new product. The new one works just as fine but I had expected the pivot head moves better than what it is, maybe more freely. The degree of freedom has room to improve for sure. Everything else is fine, great value.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased as a gift. The trimmer is good quality but certainly wouldn’t stand up to a purpose built trimmer. Does not come with a cleaning kit.

Cut them wiskers
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This shaver works well. I shave after a 3 day growth. This shaver acts like a lawn mower, cuts down stubble growth. I would highly recommend.

Comfortable Shaver with Solid Features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips Norelco 5300 Shaver makes close shaving an easy task. Just charge the shaver with the included charging cable for a full hour and you’re ready for 40 minutes of operation. Hit the power button and your shaver will trim your facial hair. If you are used to the up/down motion of non-electric shavers, this may take some getting used to. The Norelco needs a circular motion to remove that stubble. One of the major plusses of the 5300 is that it can operate in either a dry or wet (shower) mode. This shaver requires charging as noted above. This is both good and bad news. The good news is that you are free of that pesky cord giving you the freedom of movement. The bad news is that this shaver cannot operate while connected to the charger so you can’t depend on full electric power. If you’re not paying attention, the shaver could die when the battery is low making it non-operational. Be aware that there is no battery indicator letting you know the battery level (except empty). However, there is a charging indicator letting you know you are in charging mode. Cleaning this shaver is a breeze: (1) Run warm water over the blades while the unit is on, (2) Turn the unit off and lift the blades and run warm water underneath them. One of the bonuses of this shaver is that it includes trimmer blade that easily attaches to the shaver if you need trimming of beards, mustaches or side burns. The 5300 features easy replacement of the shaving heads. Philips recommends replacing them once per year. The bad news is that they can cost as much as $40 for a set. Over a several-year period this could amount to more than buying a new shaver itself. Looking at the Philips Norelco 5300 overall, you can spend anywhere from $50 to over $200 for another Norelco. But at its current price point, it offers a comfortable shave at a reasonable price.
