Norelco discontinued the proper head for their high end shavers driving the cost for the few available from $30 to more than $300! The replacement heads are junk! There is some talk about putting the original head back in production but nobody at Norelco will say when.

Unbelievable, I bought a new shaver head but what I received was a used shaver head with black hair in it, I don't have black hair. I look at management for this issue. This helps me know where invest my money.

The originalhead that came with the razor was fantastic. This head is nowhere near as good. Yes the shave is just as close but even after using it for a month it still stings even with a half day growth. Nowhere near as good as the original.

I have a 2 year old SensoTouch3D 1290x. Got these replacement heads as they are the recommended ones. You can't find the original style ... or if you can, they cost more than the whole shaver! The RQ12+ cuts well, but what I really liked about the old ones was the simplicity of cleaning - pop up each head, rinse, air dry, pop down - perfect if you are in a rush or frequent traveller. The new design requires you to completely pull off all 3 heads to rinse under the tap i.e., detach from the shaver. Philips recommend you follow an 11 step process to clean them each month ... for which you need to use a special tool (which they provide in the package). I don't think these shave any better, so when they need replacing, I'm afraid I'll be looking at other shavers. This reviewer is hoping and praying that Philips bring back the old style heads before then.

One of the 3 heads popped out and after hours of trying I can't get the parts back in so it will work. This head is terrible compared to the one that came with the razor. Norelco's reputation is hurting with sticking their customers with an expensive razor and a cheap deplorable replacement head (only cheap in quality, not in price).
