Pretty good, it took me a while to find just the right accessories. The instructions and pictures lacked.

Phillips has made a lot of shavers over the years. As fashion changes, they have adapted by making stubble razors. There have been two approaches to leaving stubble on your face: separate combs and dial a length. With separate combs, each comb / hair guide is for a preset length (i.e. 2mm, 4mm, 15mm). This locks you in to only the lengths that the razor comes with. The combs though are designed to stand the hair up all the way down to the blade, allowing for more hair to be cut per pass. Dial a length has historically used a hollow comb. The comb still straightens the hair in front of the cutting blades. This design can work better if you’re changing the length of your hair on different parts of your face or head. In addition, it comes with a nose har trimmer. .
Phillips newest razor tries to combine the best of each approach and does a pretty good job. It comes with variable razors for your face and fixed length guides for other body hair you may want to shave. The variable guides push up and down from the razor blade to ensure they both straighten the hair as well as provide for the desired length.
My choice is to wear a close cropped beard. My previous razor was making a lot of noise and the comb was loose. It appears that over time, the connection between the blade and the razor wore out. The loose vibration caused the noise. I’d had it for more than 5 years, so no complaints on how long it lasted. During that time, it shaved consistently until close to the end.
The new razor appears to be better built with mostly metal parts. It also uses a Li-Ion battery, so no worries about battery memory. The razor does not come with its own charger, instead providing a cord which will plug into a USB-A port. Phillips assumes that everyone has plenty of extra AC adapters at home (which is the case with me). It should simplify traveling as I’m usually bringing at least USB charger for other devices I have. It would have been nice if it interfaced with USB-C for better future proofing, but it’s at least a step in the right direction. The charger takes an exceptional experience and make it simply 'Great'
It cleans as easily as my old one, perhaps a little better. It requires only a rinse under water to get the hair off. The charge lasts over 90 minute in my testing. Phillips says it should last 110 minutes on a 1 hour charge. It will also run with the charger plugged in, just in case it runs down unexpectedly on you. It’s very compact and fits in my toiletry bag nicely.
Overall, I really liked this razor. It’s very quiet, and does the job its designed for. It’s easy to clean, easy to charge, and travels well. I’m excited to use this for years to come!
