It’s a nice shaver, especially at the price point. It gives a pretty nice shave but it’s not as close as a razor blade. I would recommend it, although I miss my razor blade. It just depends on what you want.

This shave machine is comfortable you can carry with you in all your trips, the quality after shave is great, I bought one as a gift for a friend

My husband has sensitive skin with thick hard whiskers. He says he has never had a razor that shaved as well as this. Doesn’t tear up his skin or leave rash. Excellent product!

Works better than any electric shaver I have ever used! Dry shaving every 2 or 3 days and it has no problem with the trouble spots!

Philips - Norelco have produced an excellent product. This rechargable razor with trimmer produced a better shave than my barber.

I’ve been using Gillette razors for a good number of years now. I’ve also used other manufacturers’ brands, both wired and battery models, mostly looking to change up my daily routine. Even so, I typically return to my Gillette razors after the other brands start irritating my face – a situation I can only take for so long. For this review, that’ll be my benchmark for whether I stick with the 6800 or head back to my tried-and-true Gillette. Phillips promises the closest and most accurate shave achievable with an electric shaver. The shaver’s GyroFlex technology rolls and flows across your face, supposedly allowing its shaver heads to catch and cut every single hair. Its SkinGuide feature helps to prevent irritation as much as possible, irrespective of you shave wet or dry. It alludes to an enhanced contouring experience to provide a close comfortable shave. It uses a life and cut technology – where the blades lift the hairs and cut them below the skin level. Okay, game on. My easily-irritated face awaits the challenge. The 6800 promises the following: • Dual Precision shaving heads that contour softly and effortlessly • GyroFlex 2D Contouring Technology for the closest shave ever • Dual choice in a Wet or a Dry shave • Skin Glide surface for a frictionless, smooth experience It also sports an attachable trimmer for your sideburns and for trimming your beard, and a Lithium-ion battery for a cordless shave. A travel pouch would have been nice but didn’t come with the unit. Since I prefer a wet shave, that’s where I started my evaluation. Taking advantage of its AquaTec seal, which allows you to shave wet or dry, I wet my face thoroughly with plain water. I’m holding off on using gel until after giving it a good try just using water. I do have Neutrogena Men’s Shave Cream for Sensitive Skin – which I’ve used for years to cut down on irritation. I may try it in the future if I feel it’ll prevent any issues. The documentation does say that it can take up to 3 weeks for your skin to adapt to using this kind of shaver, so I may have to do a follow up review when I reach that point. I can comment about my first experience using plain water. I didn’t feel any discomfort or irritation using the shaver, although it didn’t result in feeling like I received a clean, smooth shave. But that’s okay, because I’m nowhere near the 3-week mark. Okay, that was a pretty good experience. Even areas around my Adam’s Apple or under my jaw line, areas that never seem to get a clean shave even with my Gillette’s, did okay. No irritation, no missed hair; just a bit bumpy. I do like the feel of the shaver's grip. It has what they call a SensoTouch non-slip grip. For those of us with dry hands and a history of dropping items (think, cell phones), I had no problem holding on to the 6800. This is a big plus in my book. This is a cordless shaver. While other cordless shavers allow you to use them to shave while being charged, this one does not. I’m disappointed that it doesn’t have a charging base, an item that comes with the more expensive versions of this shaver along with additional accessories/attachments. It’s been so long since I’ve used a powered shaver that I don’t have a good feel on how it compares to other shavers on the market. That said, I am happy with the results I’ve seen thus far. And its price point is pretty good too, so that’s a real plus in my book.

The shaver itself is very comfortable and easy to use the trimmer attachment not so much. The fact that you can use in the shower is the big seller for me.

This was purchased to replace my 20 year old Norelco. I use this to supplement my traditional razor shave or when my stubble has gotten too long over a lazy weekend to use a razor. So far I’m loving it. Only con that I can see, is that when the internal battery no longer takes a charge it will render this shaver obsolete as you can NOT use it while it is plugged in like my older model. We shall see how long it takes before that happens. So far so good.
