If I could give this item zero stars I would. I bought this item online because of the features it came with (car case, lighter adapter etc). I specifically made sure that it had a warranty as I do not like to buy refurb items w/o one. It had 90 days. I went on my trip and it broke, stopped working wouldn't turn on though charged etc. Took it to the local best buy and was told it had NO WARRANTY and they could do nothing. My return trip was ONE day after the return policy and they wouldn't return it. I called in and was told that they can change the website and there is no way to go back and see what it said. I was then told I would get a $50 gift card because of the trouble, but yeah that never arrived either. This put SUCH a sour taste in my mouth. We buy a lot of stuff from best buy, but I am thinking that we won't be buying anything else! We have a mastercard and store card from them and I'm sure those will be paid off and closed as well. The fact that they can't stand behind their product is such poor customer service!

I received my used refurbished player. I immediately noticed that it wasn't cleaned and had fingerprints and scratches and smudges. It looks like it had taken a few floor dives and maybe abused by a child. I'm thinking it must be a durable piece of electronics since it works fine. I'm testing the battery on length of life. I was disappointed not to find any battery life display on this unit and the rest of the menu offers nothing but the basics. The speakers provide adequate volume at the highest adjustment in a private room setting. I don't believe the volume would be adequate in a car, however. The noise of the player itself is noticeable, but not annoying. I'm not impressed with the video quality. I had a 6 year old Panasonic player that was less grainy, but the colors, brightness and picture are adequate for the portability and price point of a refurbished unit. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for a new unit. All in all, it is very basic and would be a great player at a $60-70 price range in used condition.

I am very disappointed with Best Buy and this product. I bought a refurbished one to save some money and because I have a camera that I bought refurbished and it has been great, so I thought why not, we should get one for the kids for Christmas. I was so looking forward to using it on our way home from my parents for Christmas. We opened it up and there was NO OWNER'S MANUAL nor the "slim remote" deal that I just saw that says it is included. So we thought, well we will just look online to see how to operate it. Well while testing it out before the car ride home tomorrow, I tried for an hour for it to read one of our new DVDs that we just received. It kept saying "loading" and after about 5 - 10 minutes would say No Disc. I tried putting the disc in to see if I had it in wrong, nope, it continued to do it. After much disappointment we have just gave up and put it in the box. It will be retruned to the store tomorrow considering I bought it after Thanksgiving and only have 30 days to return it. I have always trusted Best Buy but this time, they just didn't deliver at all. Very disappointed.

The dvd player is lightweight and feels cheap, but 90% of the time it works great. My kids had no problem figuring out how to use it. Picture's fine, remote works great, sound is fantastic (much louder than our Sony model). But. It just doesn't work consistently. The movies keep getting stuck, or have trouble loading. I realize it's refurbished, but it shouldn't be having problems fresh out of the box. It's a great price for the player--if only the player worked. Sending it back and trying again.

it doesnt work, doesnt look like new, how can best buy sell this kind of product? im completely disappointed
