This grill is amazing! It cooks fast and keeps the meat tender. However cleaning it proved to be a challenge. Because of this i returned mine.

When ever my wife would try to fry any kind of meat on our kitchen stovetop, the smoke alarms would always go off. We always had to open the window next to the stove. And even with this, the alarms would still be activated. I guess better safe than sorry. So forget any attempt to trying to pan fry a steak.
When I first heard about this grill, I thought that it sounds a little too good to be true. Well, let me tell you that I have grilled many steaks, pork chops and chicken halfs without any alarms going off. You just can't apply a lot of liquid seasoning or sauce to the meat. I have been using dry rubs and salt/pepper for flavoring.
I will tell you that I would defy anyone knowing that the meat wasn't prepared on an outdoor grill. PLEASE BELIEVE ME ON THIS!

While we prefer outdoor grilling we cannot always do that due to the weather. We wanted to have the ability to grill in the winter. We saw an infomercial with this grill and we purchased it. It's nearly smokeless but still was a bit more smokey than I anticipated but still usable indoors.
Cooks evenly on the top and bottom but the sides of meat (depending on thickness) do not always cook evenly with the rest of the cut. Better for thinner cuts.
Overall great product.

Works terrific. Almost no smoke. Be warned though, it has wide grill gaps, so cooking smaller items like shrimp doesn’t work. Also no splash guard for grease so avoid items that may splash grease like bacon

I got this grill bc I am tired of using a grill pan indoors and having all the smoke and my pace smelling like what I cooked for days. This grill cooks great with minimal if no smoke at all. Food tastes just as good as an outdoor propane tank. Cleaning is pretty easy however the interior reflectors turned color after using for the first time.

This is actually my first grill EVER. So with that considered, I probably have a different take on this grill than some other individuals who are used to a gas/propane outdoor grill. However, I do own a table-top infrared oven, which shares some similarities to this Philips infrared grill.
The setup process is incredibly simple, and there really are only 3 pieces to this grill: the grill plate, the infrared base, and the drip plate. Before you begin, it's wise to clean off the grill plate with hot soapy water, but avoid using heavy abrasives. Plug in the infrared base, and flip the switch on and you're ready to go!
There are three settings for this grill: OFF, ON, and WARM. When ON, the grill heats up to a constant~450° F. I haven't measured the WARM setting, but I imagine it defaults to somewhere around ~165° F like my infrared oven does on its warm setting.
So far, I have grilled beef burgers, chicken breasts, and vegetable kebabs/skewers. The included documentation gives you fair estimates on how much time total should be spent grilling these types of items, and I'd say it was fairly accurate—but when you're a grilling noob like I am, it can be a tossup. Regardless, the burgers turned out great, the chicken was very juicy and tender, and the skewers were excellent. And yes, everything had grill marks, as expected.
As with any grill, this is still a lightly involved process, so you'll still need to flip and rotate, but infrared typically cooks more thoroughly, so timing and results may differ compared to a gas/electric grill. As far as smoke goes, there is so little, but keep in mind that fat and oil will still cause smoke, but definitely less. What's especially nice is that this grill can be used during any time of the year (this will be great to use indoors during the winter), and you can bring it anywhere that has an electric socket! Gone are the days of carrying around a propane tank or charcoal. And of course, no fire is necessary! Could definitely bring this to a small barbecue get-together! All it takes is some basic grilling knowledge! While I'm not a newcomer to cooking, I am a newcomer to grilling, but this Philips indoor electric grill will definitely help change that!

Great grill. Have used multiple times with fair to good success. Sometimes I think the meat isn't done (tenderness) to what it would be on a large grill, but when cooking for two people, kicking up large grill doesn't make sense. I would definitely buy again, but at this point in time 4 Stars is all I would rate this.

First time using it out of the box upon warming up it made a zap noise. Shortly after the headlamp bulb blew. One side is still little taking double the time. Got pictures of both.

Great Counter Top Grill

If you are looking for something to replace the old school countertop clamshell grill look no further than the Phillips Avance Collection Indoor Grill.
It's large enough to cook 4 decent size steaks or 6 to 8 hamburgers. The grill surface is removable as is the drip tray and both are dishwasher friendly.
We fired it up and threw on a few steaks and it did a great job of cooking them to perfection, complete with the obligatory grill marks. Next up we'll try chicken and vegetables but are expecting great results as well.
The pros:
+ this is a big grill
+ heats up quick
+ virtually smokeless
+ over 1600W of infrared heat
+ easy to clean drip pan and grill
The cons:
- this is a big grill (counter space is a premium at my house)
- the infrared heating elements are extremely bright red making it difficult to look at the grill while on
- I would have liked to see several heat settings. It's either off, on, or on warm. Maybe warm, medium, high.
- price is a bit on the high side but cheaper than a large outdoor gas grill.
All in all a great grill!

Overall I like the product. Especially being able to grill inside when it’s cold outside. But I will forewarn it is not smokeless. Not even close. Both times I’ve used it, it set my smoke alarms off. So maybe consider grilling by an open door.

This is a good grill just as if you grilled outside. The plus is no messing with charcoal, not concerned if weather is or will turn bad. A pleasure preparing meal inside with that grilled outdoor taste. Highly recommend.

This is an excellent grill for the times you do not need a full gas or charcoal grill. The key is to allow it to come up to full temperature. That is 6 minutes
