This is my third Sonicare Toothbrush, the Technology and Design in the 9300 DiamondClean Smart System is beyond what I would have imagined in a toothbrush. When taking the 9300 Toothbrush System from the box for the first time it was obviously a tremendous leap forward in brushing technology. The appearance of the handle and feel of the handle is inviting, you can see right away that is a top of the line appliance. The accessories that come with the brush as well are thoroughly thought out, one of my favorite is the Charger with the Clear Glass Holder/Base, the charger holder/base looks as any drinking glass you would find in the kitchen. Why my enthusiasm for the base, that is quite simply being a clear glass you know when you need to clean the charger base. Plus, it looks wonderful sitting on the counter, designer even. Carrying case is a leap ahead from my older plastic holder cases, it as well has the designer appeal and the handle and two brush heads fit easily and snug. Great for the traveler. Personally, I am a Gadget Person and have a home full of them to prove the point. Was a bit taken back and amused to find when I first set my 9300 DiamondClean up that I had to Update the Firmware in the toothbrush! Have updated everything from mainframe computer systems to kid’s gadgets, but never imagined the day I would be upgrading the programming of a toothbrush. Was at first “smiling” at the idea of having my toothbrush communicate (Bluetooth) with my cell phone. First thought was it was another IoT that had gone too far, question being why would I want my toothbrush to talk to my phone app. Have come up with two exacting reasons why after using the system, first being it is highly accurate detecting every tooth you have brushed and the duration. If like me you will simply find that you can develop a better brushing routine that will reward you with healthier teeth and gums by following the App’s Directions, really it works. Second answer is that if you have children, who love anything computer will jump at the chance to brush their teeth while watching their progress on the phone’s app. It is a Great Guide and will likewise benefit your Children’s Health for many Decades to come. One of my favorite aspects to this system is that I find myself stopping by more frequently for a quick touch up brushing during the day. The system is loaded with advanced tech and provides a broad spectrum of health care for your teeth and gums. Changing from different cleaning modes, Clean, White, Gum Health, and Deep Clean is a simple selection on the handle as you brush. Now for my favorite aspect of this Brushing System, I have simply never had any toothbrush clean my teeth so thoroughly. You realize that after the brush and it feels Wonderful.

What an impressive, feature packed, re-chargeable toothbrush, with technology you can use for better daily, oral health care. I love how this unit is designed to visibly provide you an effective, real-time evaluation of your brushing and tooth cleaning regimen using your smartphone. The long-term oral health benefits far outweigh its price point. Each sonic toothbrush head contains Bluetooth 'smart sensors' for pressure, location, and scrubbing. There are four preset cleaning modes and three intensity settings. However, I can easily customize any setting to my individual needs and comfort level. It is ruggedly-built and feels like it is coated with a non-slip material for easier gripping. This unit provides me an in-home dental-assistant, of sorts, through the Philips Sonicare app, which steers me to use the correct method for more thorough cleaning and healthier teeth. The Philips Sonicare app is available to download Free for Android and IOS smartphones. After downloading the app I was directed to set my product, 'profile' and pair my Sonicare Handle with my Android smartphone. Bluetooth pairing with the Sonicare was simple and prompted by the app. All I have to do now is set up my smart phone in a convenient spot so I can visually see what the app is displaying as I clean my teeth. This app provides me with so much valuable information: It allows me to visually and actively use my smartphone to monitor my teeth cleaning and provides an automatic, timer for me to switch to another section of my teeth, indicating the next section to clean. It tells me if I am not cleaning my teeth thoroughly enough and recommends additional cleaning indicating those particular teeth and areas, which need it. Allows me to set personal oral hygiene goals, like plaque removal, teeth whitening, fresh breath, and gum health, and, to customize my own individual, oral hygiene goals. It gives me a Progress Report on the coverage of my teeth, pressure, scrubbing, and up to 180 days of use. It also prompts me as to how many more sessions I may have left using that particular brush head. The app allows me to set brushing session reminders for my back teeth (molars) – I can select a 'start' location, upper right, then upper left; lower left, lower right. It also lets me set reminders for mouth rinse and tongue cleaning. It uniquely allows me to focus on particular areas of my teeth, which are prone to plaque, bleeding, gum recession, and dreaded cavities. I can save that information and the intuitive cleaning app concentrates on those areas that need special attention. How cool is that? What does this Philips Sonicare HX9903/11come with? The Sonicare Toothbrush handle for thorough oral hygiene. Three 'Smart Brush Heads' – Plaque, Gum Care, and Whitening. Stylish and practical charging glass, which can be used for mouth rinsing too. Convenient travel case. Two-year warranty. User Manual. Welcome brochure with info on quick-start-setup and product registration. Since I go to my dentist for cleaning and check-ups twice a year, I'm always told after-the-fact, what areas I should have been cleaning better or concentrating on. The greatest advantage of this Philips Sonicare DiamondCleanSmart 9300 is that it allows me to be more preventative and motivated towards my daily, oral hygiene. Instead of having to wait six months to have my dentist point out the areas I should have cleaned better, the Philips app is now my personal home, dental-assistant, guiding me, daily and accordingly. My goal is too follow the app's recommendations and, of course, provide my teeth with better overall care and avoid costly dental expenses. WooHoo! In my wildest dreams I never thought an app based sonic toothbrush would ever benefit me. I am now a 'believer'. After only three days of daily, twice-a-day use, my mouth feels like I recently visited my dentist' office for a scheduled cleaning. WoW! Although they are pricey, I plan to buy several of these units as Christmas gifts, mainly to my Grand Children. To me, it is so obvious, that this Philips Sonicare DiamondCleanSmart unit would make a fantastic gift for any occasion, and, to anyone you think would benefit from better oral health care. I highly recommend this unit and give it a resounding five-stars – ten if it were on the scale. I have never felt more confident about my oral hygiene since I have used this Philips Sonicare unit. I love this new and technological way of having a personal, home, dental-assistant to enable me to achieve proactive oral hygiene. Here's to healthy teeth – YooHoo!

The Philips Sonicare Toothbrush- DiamondClean Smart Included- The Sonicare smart toothbrush, 3 interchangeable brush heads, 1 charging station with glass, travel case, and 2 year warranty that can be extended 6 months if registered online. After unwrapping the package that was carefully packed, I downloaded the free Philips Sonicare app. This app will help you consistently and thoroughly care for your mouth. It works with your toothbrush to monitor your progress on coverage, pressure and scrubbing as you brush. It automatically times you to show you how long you've brushed with an ultimate goal of 2 minutes. With a simple tap it will also track your flossing, mouth rinsing and tongue cleaning if you choose. You can use a preset goal or customize one for what you want to focus on. The app will monitor the usage on the brush heads and alert you when it is time to replace them. You can even shop for Sonicare products in the app. And it has the ability to prepare a progress report of your oral health activity to share with your dentist. As for the toothbrush itself, it's very sleek. Mine is all white, which I love. The handle is very comfortable to hold. There are 2 buttons, the top one for power and the bottom to switch between different brushing modes. I love that you can interchange the brush heads for a customized session. One is for plaque control, one is for advanced gum care and one is for stain removal to brighten and whiten teeth. The charging station is also very classy. The glass fits perfectly on the silver stand and when the cord is plugged in, the toothbrush will charge right through the glass. It will be so easy to clean by throwing the glass in the dishwasher so it doesn't get grimy like some of the other Sonicare stands do. And I love the travel case that fits the toothbrush and 2 heads. My family never takes their Sonicares on trips because we don't have a convenient way to pack it all up and this helps solve that problem for me. When I go to brush, I pop open the app and it finds my toothbrush. With a touch of a button it pairs up and syncs as long as your toothbrush's lights are on. The diagram shows you the path it would like you to brush and what area to concentrate on. It will move around your mouth in sections. I am able to somewhat customize the direction you move around the mouth. It wants to go in some sort of circle, clockwise or counterclockwise. I would personally like to see more options so I can break it down into more choices so I could pick exactly what order I want to do. I like to go left to right on the top and bottom and not around. Once you're done, it will show you in a diagram what areas should get more attention, so you can go back right away and touch up or concentrate on it more the next time. The one setback I see is that I sometimes don't remember to bring my phone with me into the bathroom. I'm not sure how many people already do that so if you're like me it might get some getting used to get in to that routine. I'm totally impressed with this Sonicare Toothbrush. My entire family already owned one and this is my first. I can see why everyone I've ever heard talk about Sonicare have only had good things to say about them. It's great to get immediate feedback while brushing. My teeth always feel super clean.

Full disclaimer, I've never owned a powered or smart toothbrush till this one and now that I've had the pleasure of using one I’m not sure if I could ever go back. I’ve been extremely pleased with the Sonicare DiamondClean. Everything from the packaging, design, setup, and daily usage is well thought through. Right out of the box it comes with everything I could ever imagine needing besides replacement brushes. Philips includes a nice thick glass for rinsing which stacks neatly on top of the wireless charging pad – you’ll set your toothbrush base in the glass when not in use. Also included is a nice white clamshell case for travel, which holds the brush and two different heads. No space for the charger in this case, but unless you are traveling for more than a couple weeks, you should need it. Philips does sell a case with a USB charger if this is something you need. The brush itself is balanced nicely, well built, intuitive. Pressing the power button will pull you right into a brushing session. The brush session type is automatically selected based on the head you are using – if you want to change this the second button below will let you manually do this or change intensity during a brush session. I’ve talked about how intuitive and thoughtful the design of this brush is and it really shines when you’re brushing. After you have setup the brush with the app you can see all the data about your brush handle and the attached head. The app is the best I’ve seen in a “smart” product. Since the brush uses BLE, you don’t have to mess with any pairing nonsense. If you have the app open and turn the brush on, it will switch right into the coaching mode showing you what sets of teeth you should be focusing on. It divides a 2 minute brushing session into 6 parts, left-front-right for the top and bottom of your mouth. Vibration cues will let you know to move to the next one (this is also displayed in the app). The app will tell you if you are brushing too fast or (when enable) if you are applying too much pressure. It also keeps track of how long and thoroughly you brush in each section of your mouth. If you noticeably miss a section, it will inform you at the end of the 2 minute session to go back and touch up. If you have issues like bleeding gums, plaque build up or cavities, you can mark focus areas in the app which will tailor the cleaning session to these concerns. The notification light at the bottom is minimal and will warn you with a purple flash if you are applying too much pressure which is helpful when you are flying solo without the app. The light also illuminates when you set the handle in the mounted glass to charge. For most smart devices the app usually feels like a gimmick, but in this particular case the implementation makes a lot of sense and is actually very helpful. You can also monitor the health of your brushes, which will last approximately 180 brush sessions. Philips also allows you to order new ones directly from the app. Overall Philips has a developed a home run product. If you are in the market for a toothbrush of this caliber, the smart features and coaching make it all the more worth it with very intuitive and thoughtful integration. Very pleased with this product.

    Not so "smart" toothbrush

We have smartphones, smart TVs, even smart cars. Why not a smart electric toothbrush? That must have been the thinking at Philips when they created this pricey little gadget. Hey, it can monitor how long you brush, which teeth, how hard and coach you to do better in whatever area interests you most! Whiter teeth? Check! Less plaque? Check. Healthier gums! Check. Well it must have sounded like a good idea. Sadly, the Philips Sonicare Diamondclean 9300 flunks the "smart" test since it cannot connect to Phillips own app. Which you must do to get all that "smart" advice. It's bad enough that it requires yet another app on your smartphone, which requires that you register with yet another company, create yet another account with yet another password. But the real problem is once you complete that drill, the app simply doesn't work -- at least not for me in its current incarnation. I found it flatly rejects all attempts to pair via bluetooth with smartphone (my phone repeatedly reported that the toothbrush rejected the pairing). I know what you are thinking. This guy is just a dope and doesn't know what he's doing. Nope. I used to test these kind of products for a living. I know what I am doing. I have a relatively new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone and tried all the usual tricks. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Restarting the smartphone. ( Just for grins, I tried installing the app on a different Moto G phone. Same result, except it reported "incorrect PIN or passkey" from the toothbrush.) I called customer support but got no solution. We tried a bunch of things, confirmed that it SHOULD work with my phone. In the end, the rep told me, "Well our engineers are making some changes to the app and it may not be working right at the moment. Try again in a few days." No thanks. If you are charging this much for a high-end gadget, I don't want to be a beta tester or spend hours trying to get it to do what it promises. It should work -- as advertised -- right out of the box. It doesn't. Check out the comments associated with the app at the Google Play store. This is clearly a common problem and has been for some time. Not yet fixed. Some phones apparently work. Some don't. No explanation why. For what it's worth, the toothbrush itself -- sans app -- DOES work, if you can handle the hyperfast supersonic vibration it produces. The sound is akin to a dentist's drill at the highest speed, which is the default in max plaque removal mode, and almost as uncomfortable. The lower speeds (there are 3) are more tolerable, however and the thing actually does a decent job of cleaning teeth. Well, one would hope so. Philips provides three different brush heads, supposedly to address different issues. One for max plaque removal. Another for bad gums. A third for whiter teeth. They all looked about the same to me but there may be subtle differences. One oddity is the "charger," which turns out to be what looks like a small cocktail glass (yes, real glass, not the best idea in a bathroom, with all those hard floors and bare feet). The glass sits on a silver disc that plugs in. Place the base of the toothbrush in the glass and it charges via induction, after a little light show that sequentially illuminates all the settings on the handle. The glass is sort of like a wireless charging stand you can get with some new smartphones. If clean teeth are all you care about, the Diamondclean 9300 will get the job done. You might even get lucky and have a smartphone that is compatible with this thing. But you should not have to hope that a product will do what it promises.

Say Goodbye to yellow and plaque-covered teeth The Phillips Sonicare Diamondclean Smart Rechargeable Toothbrush is amazing. I often wondered what all the fuss was about when it came to rechargeable toothbrushes. This is my first time owning a rechargeable toothbrush so I cannot compare it to other rechargeable toothbrushes on the market, but I can say that this one is one hundred times better than my standard toothbrush. I love the ability to be able to see the area I am currently cleaning/brushing on my smart phone and receive instant feedback, in real time, if an area needs additional cleaning. It allows you to see all four quadrants of your mouth and which side you’re brushing. It is set up to brush for 2 minutes and then allows you to see areas you missed and return to those areas until they are clean and free of plague. I quickly discovered that I was over brushing in some areas while under brushing in others. In just a weeks worth of usage, my teeth feel cleaning and look whiter. The app reminds me to floss, checks if I have rinsed and scrapped. It keeps track of how long I brush and how often. The app keeps track of usage and when it’s time to change the brush head; which is great because I truly never when it’s time to change my standard toothbrush. This toothbrush is powerful too; after my first use, I realized that I needed to close my mouth to avoid a toothpaste mess. I also had to use less toothpaste. During my first usage, my mouth felt a little sore (kinda like when I leave the dentist’s office after a six month cleaning). It’s good that this toothbrush comes with a gradual mode; which allows your gums to adjust to the toothbrush over time. While brushing, if you move too fast or apply too much pressure you notice a change in sound, the bottom of the toothbrush will light up and you will get a warning notice on your phone as well. It’s recommended that you brush twice a day, but I haven’t started that just yet and still find my teeth are clean throughout the day. The toothbrush fits well into my hand and isn’t difficult to hold while it does all the work. It comes with a neat holding glass that also charges the toothbrush so I don’t have to worry about it running out of power. It also comes with a nice travel case for taking it away from home and the case also charges your toothbrush. It comes with multiple brush heads that can be best used for what goals you have for your teeth (less plaque, cleaner gums, whiter teeth, etc.). Having this toothbrush is like having a personal dental coach directing your brushing. I’m even saving on toothpaste because it takes less than half of the toothpaste I used to use with traditional toothbrushes. I am so excited about this toothbrush and can't wait to go back to the dentist to get a favorable report. As a matter of fact, the app is packed with so much useful information that I wish it would also recommend the best toothpaste and mouthwash to use. It would be nice if it came with a scraper (I believe the other models provide one, but not this one). I also would recommend a tutorial video on how to brush as this toothbrush is really advanced. In closing, I’ve noticed that my gums aren’t as sore as they used to be when I used a standard toothbrush. In just one week of use, my teeth are whiter and feel cleaner. I find myself constantly running my tongue along my teeth because they are so clean and smooth. I actually look forward to brushing my teeth in the morning. I highly recommend this toothbrush. It may seem pricey, but takes all of the guesswork out of brushing.

I was excited to receive the Philips Sonic care 9300 DiamondClean smarttoothbrush as this was my first experience using a “smart” toothbrush. The instructions could have been better and more helpful for the initial setup. I could have used a quick start pamphlet. The instructions that the 14-day Li-ion battery had to initially be charged 24 hours was not easily found. . The glass-charging cup is very classy looking. However there are no instructions to store the toothbrush in it and keep it plugged in. The different brushes were hard to identify, then I found another piece of paper with pictures of the brushes. I finally realized the numbers on the brushes corresponded to the 4 modes. Philips provides a storage case, which holds the handle and two brush heads. The Smart brush has a microchip, which communicates with the handle so when you snap on a brush the handle automatically selects the recommended mode and intensity level. This also tells when to replace the brush. Very nice feature. This toothbrush has Bluetooth and it was easy to download and connect the Sonic app to my LG Rebel phone. I found it awkward to hold the phone, watch the screen and simultaneously brush my teeth. I download the Sonic app to my Samsung tablet and found it easier to view and follow on the bigger screen and no holding required. The app itself shows you which part of your mouth to clean as it guides you through the selected cleaning cycle. It will also alert when you need to slow down or use less pressure. The app keeps track of problem areas that you need to pay extra attention to, which parts of your mouth you tend to brush less thoroughly, and how consistent you have been about cleaning for the recommended time. Guided Brushing feature requires you to start your brushing routine in your top right segment of your mouth. This is a big drawback for me as I am accustomed to starting in the top left segment. According to the Philips website, they are looking to create custom brushing routines for increased convenience. Check for updates to get the latest and greatest improvements! I hope they will notify us. There are 4 modes and three brushes. Clean mode has a 2-minute, intensity level 3 regimen and I found I used this in the AM. I noticed the toothpaste tended to fly off so I had to lower the intensity level. The Gum health mode takes 3-minutes, 20 seconds, so I used this mode at night. Not sure if I will continue to use this mode every night or just periodically. White mode adds extra time but not sure if you should use special toothpaste with it for better effectiveness. Deep clean mode adds extra time. I found the pressure sensor to be helpful as it alerts you if you are brushing too hard. I am 78 and do not want to brush away all the enamel. I did not use the easy start function as I wanted to experience the full effect of the modes and brushes. The Sonicare is easy to clean after use. Just remove the brush head and rinse everything under hot water. The charging glass is dishwasher safe but very easy to hand wash and dry. In summary, the Sonic smart toothbrush works very well and makes my teeth feel cleaner. Getting it all set up took a little time but after 2 or 3 usages it became much easier to use. I have a lot of bridgework in my mouth and the app seemed to lag around the bridgework, then as I used it more I was able to adapt the settings for my mouth. If you watch the app you do become more aware of areas you need to concentrate on. I think this appliance will make my dental hygienist happy at my next visit.

I've been using premium Sonicare toothbrushes for years now. They always work great and do a fantastic job at getting your teeth clean. The different settings give you different feels that you really notice. There really isn't much more too it. If you want the best electric toothbrush out there, this is your best bet. A couple of downsides, now. Connecting to the app with my new toothbrush (after having my old toothbrush connected before) was not possible. No idea how to resolve this. It's not that big of a deal since I didn't find the app to be all that useful anyways. The new charging "cup" idea is really cool. You just place the toothbrush into the cup and it lights up and starts charging. The old versions always have a little peg you had to stick the toothbrush in in order for it to stand and charge. This usually wasn't an issue but occasionally, you'd spend a handful of seconds trying to line the two up. Now, it's just as simple as placing the toothbrush into the cup. You're done. This is extremely nice to look at and makes it very easy to charge. The problem I have with it, is, with each generation of toothbrush, they appear to be getting rid of any sort of toothbrush head storage solution. Years ago, they included a UV light case where you put your toothbrushes and shined a light on them for 10 minutes to disinfect them. Who knows if the light did anything, but there was a place to put your toothbrush heads (2 people use the toothbrush and it had 2 spots). The next generation did away with the light box and included a little attachment for the travel charger that would let you put your toothbrush heads somewhere. This was a step down to me so we kept using the light box since the charger was the same. Now, all you got is a cup. I would have really liked some sort of attachment for the charging part of the cup that would let you attach some toothbrush heads. Placing them in the cup with the toothbrush is really clumsy and you basically have to take everything out of the cup in order to place the toothbrush back in. I might just 3D print a new holder of some sort. That's really the only thing I have an issue with. No real place to put your toothbrush heads anymore. We're using the detachable piece that came in the years old lightbox right now. Other than that, it's a great upgrade to an already great toothbrush.

After using this toothbrush, it puts all other toothbrushes I have used to shame. It comes very well packaged and contains the toothbrush handle, a very cool charging glass and base, a very nice travel case and 3 different brushing heads. Setting up the charging base is great, just plug it into the wall, and just rest the handle of the toothbrush down in the bottom of the glass and it charges wireless. The glass sits sturdy on the charging base and is easy to clean. The bluetooth phone software is a nice feature to this toothbrush. It just requires downloading the Phillips Sonicare app, doing a quick sign up and the phone automatically pairs itself to the toothbrush. You do have to enable certain permissions that the app will ask you about in order to link the toothbrush. The app does seem a bit redundant and confusing to set up at first, but once done it is easy to use. Just go into the app, hit "brush" and turn on your toothbrush. It does come with a handy instruction guide to follow to help you along with accessing the app. It is also nice that it is not necessary to use the app in order to brush, but It is very cool to watch while you brush as it shows where you are brushing, times your brushing in each area, and the bottom of the brush glows to let you know if you are brushing too hard. The toothbrush comes with 3 different heads which are color coated around the edges of the bristles so you can easily find which one you want to use, and the travel case can carry 2 different heads. The battery is rated for a 7 day charge, and I have used for multiple days with out charging and it only seems to charge for a minute or so when put back in the glass. Very nice for road trips. The app gives a very delightful approach to brushing your teeth. It asks you what area you would like to focus on (like gum health, clean teeth, etc.) and there are different brush heads for those areas. It will put you on a little 21 day plan for brushing and even when you are done brushing it goes through a checklist to ask if you have flossed, used mouthwash or scraped your tongue. After your brushing is done, it shows you a map of your teeth and where you need more work in the future, and also shows a 3d visual too that you can rotate around. One of my favorite parts about the toothbrush is how long and thin the bristle head is. It is very easy to reach back and get all those hard to hit spots, and very easy to take on and off the handle. There are different cleaning modes and intensities you can pick on the handle, and will auto register which cleaning head you have attached and select the proper cleaning mode. My only gripe is it does not come with the tongue scraping head. Other than that I don't want to use any other toothbrush in the future! Love it!

I did receive this product for my honest unbiased review. So the only bummer was receiving a white unit instead of the black one ;-) Funny thing is I recently purchased and off brand electric toothbrush that I've been pretty happy with. So this toothbrush had an uphill battle. Well, I must say I am pretty impressed. They both have their own charging stations, but what I like about this unit is the charging happens through a furnished drinking glass that sits atop the charging unit, so when you put your tooth brush in the glass it automatically charges, which is pretty cool. I actually unplugged the charging unit after the first day and the unit remains fully charged after 2 weeks. The design of the unit is a vast improvement over the old models that would get all gunked up under the brush head as well. I also like the size if the unit as it fits more comfortable in your hand. It also features a visual pressure sensor to alert you when you are brushing too hard. The unit comes with multiple brush heads that you can choose from and then set the brushing level to match, I.E. - I used the Gum Health head and setting. I did notice the back of the brush heads have a rubber edge which I find much nicer than the off brand unit that has a solid plastic back that feels like it will chip your teeth when touched accidentally. I also really liked the case that it came with for traveling. It is a hard case so your unit wont accidentally turn on in your travel bag. Almost forgot, this toothbrush has it's own Smartphone App. This app syncs with the brush and can guide you through your session, It shows you where you are brushing and when to move to the next area etc. Pretty cool if you are into technology. I did give my other brush to the wife as I do like this one a little better than the off brand. That being said, they are very similar at their ability to clean teeth, but this Sonicare is about $150.00 more. Not sure I would spend that much on a toothbrush. However, if you want a great sonic toothbrush that is very easy to charge, does a great job on your teeth, is built solid and includes a great smart phone app, this is probably your best choice. Pros: Ease of Charging Long Battery life Built solid Multiple settings and brush types Easy clean Wild Smartphone app to help you clean better Cons: Pricey

I have used Philips Sonicare toothbrushes before and have always considered them to be the best. My last one lasted several years, so it was time to get a new one. The Diamond Care Smart Toothbrush seemed like the logical replacement. It comes with 3 toothbrushes, one for plaque removal, one for whitening and one for gum care. It also comes with a glass with a dual purpose of.rinsing your moth and recharging your toothbrush You get a very nice travel case too.. Everything from the toothbrushes to the travel case looks attractive and is obviously high quality. The main unit is Bluetooth compatible and connects to a Philips app which is intended to guide you thru plaque removal , whitening and gum care programs. It also supposed to show you which sections of your teeth you are brushing correctly and which areas you may have missed. The toothbrush will also illuminate at the bottom if you are applying too much pressure and gives a beep every 30 seconds to alert you to move on the next section in your mouth. Ideally you will spend a total of 2 minutes brushing your teeth. It will also alert you when it is time to change the toothbrush. So how does all of this work? Well , for the most part the toothbrush delivers. It cleans your teeth about as well as you can imagine. The product is easy to use, very attractive and of high quality. My gripe is with the app. I found it to be annoying to pair with my mobile device and I thought that the chart that analyzes the cleaning to be inaccurate. It would tell me that I completely missed a section of my mouth, which of course I didn't. I stopped using the app after a couple of days. The bottom line is I am very happy with the product, but I feel like the Philips engineers had too much time on their hands and added unnecessary options and unnecessary cost to this product by adding the Bluetooth and the app. The Philips Sonicare line is the best toothbrush product line on the market. I just think you could buy a lower model, without all the bells and whistles and be just as happy

Contents of the box 1) Brush handle 2) 3 brush heads for different purposes 3) Charging base 4) Charging glass 5) Travel case I've had an older model Sonicare toothbrush for a really long time and it was time for a new one. This brush handle is much slimmer than my original one so it's easier to hold. The brush came charged (at least enough to brush once) which was convenient. I set up the charging base with glass on my bathroom counter. I imagine you could also rinse using this glass, but I probably won't do that. That's about it as far as setting it up to charge. I downloaded the Philips Sonicare app, signed in using my Google account, and told it which brush I had. There really wasn't any initial set up needed. My first brush, I decided to try out the app, to see if it had any use. I used the "clean" mode which lasts 2 minutes, with a beep every 20 seconds that allows you to pace your brushing and move to a different section of your mouth. The intensity of the brushing felt good to me, but I'm also used to using a Sonicare brush. The app guidance seemed ok. I noticed on subsequent brushings that it doesn't necessarily know which teeth you're brushing, for example, when brushing the inside left, it somehow though I was brushing the outside right. After brushing, my teeth felt really clean, better than with my older brush. Subsequent brushings seem to be about the same, leaving me with a clean feeling mouth. The app is mostly useful, it alerts you if you're moving the brush too much or pressing too hard. Also the handle lights up if you're pressing too hard. It also tracks the life of the brush head to let you know when to replace it. The travel case has a place for the brush handle and two separate brush heads, which are snapped into place and held securely. Overall this is a great brush. Definitely an improvement over the one I've had for more than 10 years. Hopefully this one will last as well.

I have had other Phillips products in the past, as well as Electric Toothbush, but this Sonicare is very nice, cleans deeply, and I am not wrong by saying that it is whitening my tooths. It is very simple to use, the tone of black color is very elegant, the way is packaging, and the package itself, like it is a piece of jewelry, will tell you the good quality product you are buying. Another really cool thing, and a brilliant idea, the the dished -in-induction base that will match with the included glass, a charging base adapted to the glass, clever idea, and the included fake leather travel case will also charge your toothbrush while you travel via USB. Now, all you have to do is push on the desired brush head and it will tell you to the handle so it knows the type of brush installed, and will change the cleaning program to match the head. There are 5 included cleaning modes. You can choose the cleaning cycle manually by pushing the button under the power button. You also can change the intensity of the cleaning by pushing the same button It also has a cool feature, a build-in Bluetooth to connect with a smartphone, and a Sonicare app. Installing the app and pairing the cell and the brush was very easy. What the app does, it shows you which part of your mouth to clean as it guides you through the selected cleaning cycle. It will also alert when you need to slow down or use less pressure, and keep record of your cleaning. I was able to test the 3 different smart brush head types, that automatically pair with the appropriate brushing mode and smart sensors provide real time feedback, and the brush include 4 modes: Clean, White+, Deep Clean+ and Gum Health & 3 intensity levels. The maintenance of the brush os easy, just remove the brush head and rinse everything with hot water, you can use the glass as a washer too. All I can recap, is that I feel my teeth different and feel clean and fresh.

So I want to make a couple of things clear first of all. This toothbrush requires a bit of dedication in order to take full advantage of it. It will have you brush twice daily, including using mouth rinse and flossing. If you truly want to improve your oral hygiene then this is a great product that will help you get started with it even if you're not the best at brushing. It will help you every step of the way. While the toothbrush itself is the physical product it is meant to be accompanied by the app that is a free download. It will track the areas that you brush by pairing your smartphone with Bluetooth and show you where you are brushing properly and break it down for you. It really showed me better brushing habits so that I actually improved my brushing habits. It will also give you tricks and tips within the app as well. It will ask you if you flossed and used mouth rinse as well. The app really does make the product. The packaging for the product and what all it comes with is amazing. It has you pick a goal for your mouth and it comes with three toothbrush heads that it'll have you use. The toothbrush is wireless charging. It comes with a base, but it also comes with a glass that you put on the base and sit the toothbrush in. It also comes with a carrying case for travel, and the case itself feels like it's great quality. The toothbrush can also detect if you are brushing too hard and it will break that down for you after every brushing session and it is just something that takes a bit of practice that you'll get good at. The toothbrush has some force to it, but it is adjustable if it is too much for you, and it more than likely will catch you off guard if you are coming from a conventional toothbrush or a cheaper electronic toothbrush. The product may be expensive, but it certainly is a engineering marvel, and is absolutely worth it.

The Philips Sonicare smart toothbrush is well-designed and loaded with features. Right out of the package, you notice the design of the charging stand--a metal base with an attractive, heavy glass. Just set the toothbrush in the glass to charge its Lithium ion batteries. The next thing you notice is three different-colored brush heads. Each one is designed for different purposes, e.g., gum health, deep cleaning or whitening. This Sonicare toothbrush is easy to use, with or without the smartphone app. Put a brush head onto the handle and select the desired cleaning mode. Add a dab of toothpaste and start brushing. The toothbrush gives you feedback if you apply too much pressure. To get the greatest benefit, use the free smartphone app. Download it from the Apple or Android stores. It is very easy to set up. Create a Philips account or login with Facebook or Google Plus. Once signed in, the app asks you to confirm you toothbrush model. It automatically senses which brush head you have installed, and asks you about your dental health goals. The app shows you where to start brushing, and for how lon. It tracks your progress. Pros: intuitive to use, with or without the smartphone app. Selection of brush heads. Discountbrush replacement program available. Great design. Cons: a bit messier than electric toothbrushes with rotating heads. Replace brushes for Sonicare are more costly than rotating brush heads for competotor's toothbrushes. Pricey.

    A Very Powerful Toothbrush

This new Philips Sonicare DiamondClean is quite impressive. The rechargeable handle allows you to toggle between three different power levels while the toothbrush is on - and when the toothbrush is off you can toggle between four different brushing styles. The brushing styles are designed to accompany different brush heads - and the appropriate action is initially selected automatically based on which brushing head you choose but you can change that selection manually afterward. The toothbrush charges when you set it inside the included glass tumbler (which sits on the actual charging unit). The only complaint I have about this entire system is that the tumbler is actually made of glass and could break if it ever fell on a tile floor. Also included is a well-designed carrying case that fits the handle and two heads. And in the interest of making everything "smart," you can pair the toothbrush with an app that literally summarizes/critiques how your brushing session goes (I was not interested). But as soon as you turn on the toothbrush, you can tell how powerful it is - it sounds like a well-tuned little orbital sander. It isn't abusive to teeth or gums, but my teeth haven't felt this smooth since the last time I had them cleaned.

How it fares against original DiamondClean

Simply put,if you are thinking that this is oririginal diamond clean with added smartness, its NOT. It seems like a different product to me. Few big cons first, Original Diamondclean is more heavy cleaner than this, this does not have a setting as high as that. So if you are using that, this will feel like, going easy on your mouth. It does not charge with your existing wireless charging glass, which is a shame as they look identical. I tried but there is some difference which makes them incompatible. Why Phillips Why? Travel case of original Phillips is better made, solid feeling case. This one feels a little filmsy in comparison. I could throw the old case anywhere in my suitcase and not worry. This one I need to test. Now if you are still interested in it after these two negatives, lets see the positives. Smart is good, I have been suing diamond clean for close to 2 years, and yet with smart I figured that many times, I miss a certain side at a certain portion in my mouth. If you want to see your kids are brushing correctly or not, you can monitor them.(Will you spend this much money is up to you) I do not think smart does anything else right now, but that can change as the adaption increases. It does communicates with the brush head and remind you that you need to replace it. Another positive is that it now intervals in 20 seconds for six times, unlike last one which used to do 30 secs for 4 times. So Phillips make this a little less powerful than the original diamond clean, added some smart capability, made the charging glass incompatible. I guess they are aiming this product for new customers in electiric brush market, not towards existing diamondclean owner.

This toothbrush definitely exceeded my expectations. After opening the package of the product I was impressed with its sleek design and high qulaity and new charging glass base you put the brush in and charge that gives safer charging and nicer looking! This toothbrush comes with a lot of features and it was pretty easy and quick to learn and get used to using smartphone-enabled app and the quick guide that comes with tye toothbrush. Inside the box you receive the toohbrush that has 3 different speed and 4 cleaning chocies, 3 different smart brush heads that tell when it needs to be replaced, travel case "very soft" and glass charging base. After you get this toothbrush connected connected to the app on iPhone or Android device then you woule be able to track and watch where you are brushing and interval time between side to another and shows any areas you may have missed that you can repeat brushing there. Very smart and easy specially with the result of leaving my teeth clean and bright.

Ridiculous "Privacy" Policy for Personal Data

I already own another Sonicare. I bought this model because I wanted the additional "smart" features. However, when I tried to link the toothbrush to my phone I discovered that the smart phone app requires you to sign a privacy (or rather lack of privacy) agreement that gives Philips the right to share your personal data with whatever third parties they choose. To me this seems outrageous. The toothbrush app keeps track of detailed information about you and your brushing habits - how old you are, where you live, how often you brush, what time of day, how hard you press. And it uploads this personal information to Philips which is then free to use it or sell it however they want. Usually when a company exploits it's customers like this they at least offer their product for free (think Google and Facebook), but this toothbrush cost $200! And even Google and Facebook have settings that allow you to opt out of some of their tracking. In the Philips app if you change your privacy setting to not share your data with Philips the app erases your information from your phone and unlinks from the toothbrush - effectively taking away all the "smart" features.

This is my 3rd Sonicare toothbrush and was excited to check out the app and the new features. The first thing I want to mention is that this brush is slightly different then the other brushes. It can be controlled by the brush or your phone. The settings are the same with all the brushes, whitening, deep clean, and so on. I love these different features but from what I can tell is that for example, with whitening it adds 30 seconds on to the brush time to go over the front again for an additional 30 seconds. The part I was excited the most about was the app. There are some pros and cons with this. PROS: when you select brush on the app it knows where you are brushing and tells you where and how much to brush each area with highlighted sections of your virtual mouth. Helps you keep brushing goals. Tracks the life of your brush head. Tracks number of brushes CONS: In order to get the most, you must open the app each time you brush otherwise it just knows you brushed. Very pricey Other than the app, same as the regular Diamond Clean Heads are pricey Overall, it is probably the best electric toothbrush on the market however there is a price for that. If you just want a good brush without needing the app, get the diamond clean or if you need the coaching and specifics, pay the extra $70. The app is okay and the brush is amazing. Super easy to charge and use but sometimes I just want to brush and go to bed, not pull out my phone and open the app to show what I pretty much already know.
