Was impressed at first. Arc stopped working after 2 weeks.

I did a lot of homework concerning this receiver and it has lots of features that sets it apart. It can be pricy so what for a sale.

Excellent sound with a Class A amp. Plus it has full video scaling and full audio scaling. Video scaling scales pictures 2 4 k from a regular none HD signal.

I didn't realize what I was missing. I can now hear every detail in movies and audio tracks. I highly recommend this receiver.

I was replacing a 13 year old Denon receiver that was terrific. I only upgraded for the newer sound fields and to get HDMI connections and future proof for 4K UHD. I ended up trying 4 different receivers, before settling on the Pioneer elite sc-91. I tried Onkyo, Denon and a lower end Pioneer elite VSX model. This receiver blew them all away as a whole. I liked the Denon avr-x4100w, but wasn't HDMI 2.2, so decided I better future proof, so I can get at least 10 years out of this receiver. The lower Pioneer elite vsx model wouldn't stay connected to Bluetooth, so returned it and tried the Onkyo 646. This unit was nice and played loud, but seemed to be missing something in the sound, even after calibration. The Pioneer elite sc-91 happened to be released, so decided to try it. Wow, am I glad I did. I am hearing sounds from my Klipsch reference series speakers, that I've never heard before. Before calibration, wasn't real impressed, but after calibration, WOW! The sound field is all around me and sounds unbelievable! Sound is very crisp and clean. Unit is fairly easy to set up and you can tweak many things. The phone app to control it is great also. The only con I can say is, this unit has trouble staying connected Bluetooth, to my Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Might get the phone though, because seems to stay connected with my tablet just fine. Had this unit almost 3 weeks now (bought day after release) and will be keeping this for many years. After comparing all brands in this price range, I feel Pioneer elite has the edge, with Denon right behind.

Very thankful that we chose this receiver for our media room. We are very pleased with the sound we get from it.

This receiver has many features.. You can tailor the sound to your liking.

Searching for a competent replacement for an older Sony ES AV Receiver, it paid off to shop in-store. Magnolia had an understanding guy who listened and understood what I needed. I hadn't even considered the SC-91 due to pricing online. However, David showed me the special pricing in his display, we reviewed specs, and I was sold. Happy with my first Pioneer Elite.
