I have used the Elite 40 for years and it worked great--but only supported 1080 HD. This new one supports 4k, 60hz, 4:2:2 with the 2.2 HDMI standard. Sounds good, easy on TV display for setup, great auto balancing of audio. I got my open box (last years model).

My issue is price either then that I'm keeping it I can't get over how cool and quiet it is over my old one and with my kkipsch Corus 2 speakers that I had to rebuild my self sound awesome. I am a sound kinda guy. This reciver is a d3 amp so it sounds more natural and cleaner. With 120 watts rms this gets the job done I can rock things of the walls throughout my house. What can I say

This is a great receiver for those that do nt want to spend hours on end fiddling with settings. Great sound, drives a 5.1 KEF system very well.

Bought this to replace an older receiver that needed to be hdmi capable. Sound is great and has enough inputs and outputs for 7 speakers and other devices. The only glitch was trying to use the front inputs for a gaming system. Had to use the back input for the connection.

Initial setup is easy with the microphone and auto speaker balancing.
I have the 5.1 and Zone 2 set up. Its very loud and realistic.
The interface seems a little dated, but all the modern features work for 4K HDR and Dolby sound. I just use the Pioneer app on my phone which is pretty functional.
A little strange the streaming device input doesn't work on Zone 2 for some reason?

I listened to various receivers and chose this receiver based on the sound that was demonstrated to me while I was at Best Buy. The range of sound quality was very good. The.surrround sound effects were awesome. I spent a little more money than I originally intended to spend, but got a higher quality receiver. I use it on a daily basis and am not disappointed with my choice.

Purchased as a replacement for a high end Denon receiver that died twice in less than two years. One major difference that I have already noticed. The Denon became very hot when used for more than an hour. This receiver stays cool to the touch regardless of how many hours it is on. Hoping for a much more satisfactory outcome

This was a steal . So glad we went to Best Buy to look and saw this top of the line Pioneer receiver. Had planned to buy a less expensive model which was sold out and found this hidden gem on sale. The sound is incredible . A bit complicated to hook up with a Samsung 4K newer midel TV but figured it out.

Always wanted a Pioneer Elite Receiver, sound quality and features are good but it doesnt feel like a $1000 worth receiver. Good luck understandind how the settings work, the manual is the worst manual I have ever encountered for an electronic equipment.

This is our 3rd Pioneer - Elite receiver and are very happy with the two prior receivers thus the reason why we have stayed with the same brand and model type. We updated to this model and have been very happy where we do not have to adjust for the sound and the clarity is amazing.

I got these as an “open box.” When I connected these to my SVS Ultra Towers, it was unbelievable. I heard things from my favorite movies I had never heard from main channels as well as surround. I took the recommendation of the salesman and he did not steer me wrong!

I used this to replace my old onkyo receiver which came as part of a kit. I'm using the same speakers but the sound quality is amazing. I can hear voices clearly at low sound. I can't even put the speakers up all the way because it's SO LOUD. Def worth the money.

I mostly use if for movies however so far I have been very impressed with the quality the box produces. Deffinetly need to either borrow a decibel reader or buy one. The auto config will get you close but after setting the levels with a guage I was much happier.
