Very good product.. strong and sturdy !! Great sound so far ! Haven't seen a bluray yet, but that's my next step . Happy so far

Bought this to replace a cheaper onkyo receiver and to go from 5.2.2 to 5.2.4. I highly recommend this as it has all the adjustability you could want from a receiver for music or watching movies. It has plenty of power to push your speakers without distortion. It passes hdr and dolby vision. Has all the hookups I could want(4k blueray player, xbox 1, record player). Its bluetooth works great as does the built in pandora app. I let the mcacc pro do all the tuning for my speakers and it also allows you do adjust it further to your own taste. It also has 3 memories for tuning. I have one for movies and one for music. I couldn't ask for a better networking reciever.

Full disclosure I’m an over the top audiophile…that being said this receiver (SC-LX701) has everything I need. I also own the SC-LX501 which powers a theater room. I wanted to use this receiver to utilize Dolby Atmos on a 5.4.2. The LX501 only allows for a 5.2.2. The Lx701 is a 9.2 receiver the LX501 a 7.2...that's 9 channels vs 7. If you want the 9 channel upgrade to this receiver it's the LX801 and even the top of the line LX901 which is a 11.2 allowing for 7.4.2 Dolby Atmos! This receiver has all the usual requirements needed for modern times...built in wireless wifi, bluetooth, airplay etc. It cranks out (8 ohms, 1 kHz, THD 1.0 %) / 185W/ch (6 ohms, 1 kHz, THD 1.0 %, 1ch Driven FTC) / 135W/ch (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, THD 0.08 %, 2ch Driven FTC). This will give you all the power you need for a non pre-amp. It has 2 HDMI Outputs and 8 HDMI inputs. It has HDCP 2.2 compliance and UHD 4K pass through to include 3D. It's a class D3 Amplifier which means it will run much cooler with better heat dissipation making it more efficient when operating a peak levels. In short if you are a serious audiophile this receiver is the sweet spot in my opinion. It gives you the best bang for the buck!

The sound on this unit is fantastic! Supports both DTS:X and ATMOS. Additionally with the latest firmware this unit also supports Dolby Vision pass thru which is awesome paired with my LG OLEDB6P and an OPPO UDP-203 4K blu ray player.

I'm letting people know about pioneers latest receivers and the technical support is a joke. I have a vsx-1123 k and can no longer use Pandora because pioneer won't release a firmware update it will say server error. It's not just the 1123 model almost all the other models that been sold in the last couple years have also been affected. I have contacted pioneer a couple times in the last seven months and they don't seem to concerned. They're not sure when the update will be released.
