This receiver is everything I expected Its digital amp never gives out even when pushing five 4 ohm speaker very nice.

Purchased this to run a 7.1 system. Enclosed cabinet runs cool so to extend life. Has 2 zones if necessary. Most people do not know that the quality of the receiver has about 80%-90% effect on your sound system. Best choice for the $$

Nice unit - strangely, there is no on-screen volume display which makes operation somewhat difficult when the receiver is hidden. Otherwise, a great unit.

I upgraded from the Pioneer Elite VSX-40 AVR. Loved that receiver, but not missing it. This is a very noticeable upgrade in sound quality. I am RElistening to my music, both CD and MP3. I hear more instruments and background vocals than I did before. It decodes every audio codec known to man with ease. I turn this baby up and there is NO sign of distortion or struggle. The AirPlay function works flawlessly. You have to have internet connectivity to use. It was really cool to power it up with my ipad. Trust me, the apple apps are worth the download AND they are FREE. I did not use the suggested Pioneer model. I went with the Netgear option. The GUI is much improved from the VSX-40. Alot more user friendly. This applies to both the main, setup, and ipod menus. I am definitely more immersed in the surround sound than ever before... and that's saying ALOT. That VSX-40 is NO slouch. I paid almost 3 times that amount of my previous AVR, but it was well worth the money spent. This AVR comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for any mid-level, budget friendly Home Theater enthusiast.

First, I would buy this again and I will recommend it to friends. It really does have a great feature set. And I love AirPlay - it just works. Those things said, the amp just seems overly complex to me. I am also not sure if I am processing/playing surround sound correctly. Lastly, it's no where near as loud as my old amp. It's loud enough for 98% of our listening needs. But there will be times when we wished it was just a tad louder.

Once I got the unit up and running it's been fantastic! Still trying to wade through the owners manual to make the desired adjustments. Awesome sound quality!
